I’ve seen clips of the Ben Bohmer set and it looks incredible.

There was a big clash (I forget who with) so I didn’t see him, wish I had tbh!

He was on when guns n roses were on as all my mates went to that instead. He was brilliant, perfect time of day too with sun setting.

Really looking forward to silver Hayes lineup. Really great for 2023. Here's hoping it matches/better it this year. Visited the levels last year for camelphat and FBS, really liked the stage/area. Watched Ben Bohmer on lonely harts too and he was great

Ben was a highlight of the weekend, was hoping to see him on the bill again this year but he's out in America at that time, although he does have the Glasto weekend free so who knows.

    You'll be in the majority.

People on here will bitch and moan about them, but the truth is that they'll get one of the biggest crowds of the weekend, with nearly everyone in the field loving it.

Which ultimately is all that matters and renders the complaints bollocks.

They were fantastic in 2016, I'd definately watch them again unless there was something significant happening elsewhere (I need to get a ticket first).

They get a lot of bad press on here but there is no denying they put on a great show.

It’s a sea king not a chinook. Still a sizeable aircraft though.

It is but slightly underwhelming compared to Pangea or even the spider. Struggle to see how they will utilise it to make use of the space. Has a Genosys bus vibe about it.

Absolutely gutted - totally my fault but I literally forgot it was midday and just went out for a long walk! I had alarms set but the dog walking field had no reception! I was going for Worthy View - is there a resale at all? Or is it time to start buying a tent.

I'm super worried as arriving by coach on the Thursday fairly late!! Is there anywhere remotely useful to camp even available by then?

If it's a 2 man scout you want you'll get one. I got one in 2022 about 2 weeks before the festival. They come back on sale regularly, just keep checking back.

Cost of hiring the fields, cost of infrastructure/utilities/hire of showers/toilets/facilities/ storage and hire costs of tents, equipment/staffing. still cheaper than some of the glamping options and closer to festival. Plenty of free camping inside the festival for those who cant afford it. You are paying for convenience and a little bit of extra comfort I suppose? Not everyone can afford a campervan either.

A lot of those costs come with running CV fields too, and you get a bigger patch of land there compared to what you get at WV. Hiring tents, showers, toilets etc I get but still seems a bit steep compared to CV. I've stayed at WV twice and loved it but not sure the cost is justified for a 2 man tent you couldn't swing a cat in and that you boil alive in if it's warm with no means of ventilating with windows etc.

  7. The prices are getting a bit ridiculous now. Why is it so expensive when a campervan ticket is 200 quid and you get way more real estate than you do with a 2 man scout tent?  I'd have thought the land would be the cost driver but it must be very expensive for them to hire the tents, or they are just ripping us off at this point.

For sure I would definitely pay twice the price too if had the opportunity. Was at my first Glasto this year, only live half hour away but it felt like a holiday! 😁 was a magical experience

Contacted SeeTickets and they say my registration hasn't actually been used, but it was a glitch on Sunday. Fun times lol

Did you happen to take a screenshot showing it saying your registration was allocated? If so and it was indeed a glitch it would be worth challenging it with them.

How can you possibly know that?

As I said in a later post it's a hunch. I seriously doubt that many tickets went to people who understand the tech side of the system. If it was that simple to understand then everyone on here would know how it all works and we'd all have tickets. Clearly there are flaws in the system but I would guess that very very few know how to exploit it.

I disagree hugely on that. The tech is basic and can be taught fairly easily. The skills to organise large groups of people are rarer.

It may be, but most people wouldn't even think of trying to understand it because they would assume it is too complicated so they will inevitably go to getting helpers as a default.

That kinda reads like "anything within *my* abilities is fair game, but anything I can't do isn't" 😉

It does a bit, but organising friends to try for you is more within everyone's ability than understanding the tech behind how the system works and how to use that to your advantage.

What's your source of that 5% figure, and how are you defining "gaming"?

From this thread, which may not be representative, it sounds like most people "game" it.

No source other than a hunch. I don't think having big groups trying is gaming the system, it's more when people are IT savvy and can figure out back door links and all that stuff I don't understand!

  13. The system is fine as it is. The reality is the odds are massively against you, it is a lottery and down to luck. I would say less than 5% of tickets went to people gaming the system, the rest just went to regular punters going through the motions like the rest of us.

I am deeply ashamed to state that I overslept. Two alarms set for eight on ten minute repeat and I didn't hear one until 10:10.

Ashamed is an understatement. Spent hours getting gadgets ready yesterday. Booked the day off of work. I feel sick. There is something very wrong with me. The BBC and Blondie kept me up last night.

Oh dear, that's a lot of alarms to sleep through. Look on the bright side, you were enjoying sleep whilst I was pressing buttons for an hour for no reason whatsoever.

The resale chances aren’t bad , don’t forget quite a chunk make other choices for the summer keep the faith

Yep, been every year since 2014, 4 times I got tickets in the resale. I just hope they don't implement the same system they did for the resale earlier this year.

Persistence pays. One group I know, the group chat was silent and they got tickets a minute before the pages changed to sold out.
No one was on WhatsApp, no one posting or checking X, no one on here.

F5 until you get in. It’s all about persistence

This. Although that didn't pay off for me today, refreshing two devices constantly in a nice rhythm for a bloody hour and nothing 🙁

this drawed probably about 10k people from Elton (i was there, it was very empty)

I was there too and it was awesome. I think more people would have went to the other instead of pyramid if it were Madonna playing that night. I do think we will get a strong billing on the Other the night Madonna is playing.

Each to their own. Over the years I've probably missed out on things I really would have enjoyed over seeing someone just to say "I was there". For me, that's where the headliner can be a distraction.

    Chems instead of Killers

    Roisin Murphy instead of Mccartney

    QOTSA instead of Elton

3 best decisions I've made at the fest leaving my group and not going to see an act to just say I was there.

I feel we end our solidarity for a cause when we begin to enjoy the benefits of the thing creating the problem.

The festival has climate change videos playing all day on the main stages between acts whilst helicopters ferry in the rich and the famous to play a few songs for our enjoyment. If the festival were to have solidarity for this cause then it should cancel itself.

Just luck that they were passing! They flew over at 5.47pm, and their schedule says they were heading for an armed forces day at 5.50pm at Trowbridge: https://www.military-airshows.co.uk/press23/redarrowsschedule2023.htm

( I know the time because although I wasn't quick enough with my camera, I did get a picture of the contrails 😁 )

Yeah figured that was the case, just wondered if they planned their route over the fest (at request of the fest or for their own publicity) or was it on route anyway from where they came from. There was an A400M cruising around that day as well.
