  1. Note to anyone on here. Punksnotdead has made it clear that any debate will not be tolerated, we should be grateful for whatever bands we are given including the headliners and we must all fall in line with his views.
  2. What you are saying is not incompatible with what I am saying. It is obviously implied when people saying they are disappointed in XYZ headliner that it is just their opinion - no one is stating it as a matter of fact. In the same way if someone says they are looking forward to seeing Indonesian Gamelan experimental band it doesn't mean they don't tacitly acknowledge that they won't be to everyone's taste.
  3. Could not disagree more with you. This is a music forum. Of course people are going to express views about what they like and what they don't like. And as it happens there is a lot more of the former and general good vibes but the latter is equally valid and it doesn't make you a snob to say you don't like something. We are paying £240 a ticket, it's not a charity and it doesn't make us spoilt to want a good lineup. And all the talk of 'hate' is ridiculous. Some people just expressed mild disappointment at one of the headliners and FWIW I agree that it is a tired booking - they have toured relentlessly either side of the pandemic. They did almost a gig every two days (!) in 2018.
  4. Some new names in next week or 2 I reckon.
  5. That was an absolutely superb second set of names. Can't be as good!
  6. Where's this Idles rumour come from?!
  7. Father Christmas is coming...
  8. Hopefully they can close all the stages and for the rest of the day this time.
  9. Joanna Newsom would be a hell of a call
  10. Last year was so good, we've decided to rebook all the same acts 😉
  11. What's that. The 2023 poster no?
  12. They could be similar to the Mac deMarco booking perhaps. Not for me but seem to ensure a predictable audience.
  13. Confidence Man and Idles would be stale bookings IMO. Have toured to absolute death.
  14. On a separate note, it amazes me that posters don't get leaked. So many people must know about it and would be so easy to pop it up on twitter anonymously. Anyway, roll on tomorrow!
  15. True to all of the above. I'd love to see her play EOTR, some of the names being put forward are a bit stale. I mean who hasn't seen Idles by now?! Whereas she would be an exciting booking. Hoping that the poster has quite a few unforeseen bookings.
  16. The fact she is announcing tomorrow seems suspiciously coincidental
  17. Beth G is straight in as a headliner if she plays. Scarcity value.
  18. Slowdive's dates don't look a great fit. They are touring like crazy, will they still be going by then?
  19. All the good bands for the Garden stage.
  20. Not against having them on the bill but Adrianne Lenker, Alex G and Baxter Dury would all be extremely disappointing as headliners and stepdown in size of what went before.
  21. I can only agree with that entirely!
