  1. First time for us, and as Green Man regulars for over a decade I’ve been both desperate to get to End of the Road and curious to see it. We had an incredible time, really the toilets were the only negative for us, they just weren’t well enough looked after (weirdly apart from the ones either side of the Woods stage) and there weren’t really enough. The music was sensational and extremely well scheduled we thought. Clashing of similar bands felt minimal, it was well spread over the weekend (our other festival has developed a clear strategy of massively stacking the Sunday lineup in recent years), and the site itself is super, so well thought through. Finally a really good late night offering to keep everyone entertained. A festival that is really fun, doesn’t take itself too seriously and has a terrific vibe. Hope to see everyone again in the future!
  2. Laura Marling headlined in 2016, and is bigger now… so there’s no doubt she can headline. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her back. Mac de Marco must be in the running which wouldn’t be my cup of tea but he was booked for the covid year. Sooner or later they’ll get Eels back to headline I would think, and I’ve always wondered when they’ll cave and book the Manics (wouldn’t be popular with the regulars though)
  3. Brill Thankyou - can live with the walk… we’re used to lugging a week’s worth of stuff to green man so we’ll feel relatively light for this!
  4. Hi all - first time this year after wanting to do EOTR for many many years. We’re only getting down there on Friday morning unfortunately - what will the camping situation be? Will we be wedging ourselves in next to a toilet or will be find ourselves some space quite easily?
  5. I reckon booking her would risk a great invasion of the wristband-less at the very least even if they could afford her! I guess if 2003 was the first year of green man then in 2022 it’s the twentieth year of green man. It’s a bit tenuous though!
  6. Crikey, went to one of her Brixton gigs and had quite a shock!
  7. They sold out straight away this year I am pretty certain
  8. Could not agree more with this - I’ve been going to green man a long time and just occasionally something like Charlotte Church’s Pop Dungeon, or the David Bowie Disco gets thrown on that’s a little different to the variations on a theme of dance music. even something as simple as an indie disco or ultimate power or a 70s night would mix up the options a lot… (are they just too snobby to throw one up there? Round the twist would be perfect for this). Sometimes we just would like something a bit less serious to do at the end of a great day of live music.
  9. Really sad to see the community cafe gone… but will save me thousands of calories in 3am dragon hot dogs
  10. Short answer would be that it’s a really nice, well organised, easy to do festival and not at all hard to do with kids. There’s bits and bobs to do for kids though not as much as Green Man or some others. The atmosphere was all a bit flat but I sometimes do feel that about festivals with lots of day tickets. well worth a go. Good food too, though moderately heavily slanted towards the Americana theme. Longer answer - I’d go again but only if I loved the line up. It was a bit disappointing on a personal level for lots of reasons that were nothing to do with the festival itself - my wife and I had booked because a load of our favourites were on the lineup (felice brothers, waterboys, milk carton kids, true strays, a few others) but my wife had a challenging covid recovery and decided it was a bit soon for her, so after a load of deliberation I went along anyway, but clearly wasn’t the same! In addition to that, one of our main must see bands cancelled, the waterboys got thunder stormed off after five or six songs, some friends That did come along had a nightmare journey and it ruined their Friday, and so all in all I just struggled to really get in to it. Nothing to do with the festival itself, and I still had a lovely time… it just all fell slightly flat for me as a result. I’ll be looking out for the lineup though, it was stacked this year for a festival of the size
  11. The urinals were definitely worse last year than ever before - it’s really weird, Green Man can’t seem to decide how they want their urinals. They’ve been different almost every one of the 10 I’ve been to! Whereas the other loos are generally in the same place every year and apart from the last one (supplier issues noted above) they’re generally improved each year
  12. Think 4 - they’ll have far out and walled garden plus chai wallahs. They seem to be adding the main stage rather than replacing a smaller stage for Thursday
  13. Had tickets to this one for a good few years now!! Has anyone been before and have any tips or festival secrets to share? First time going this year
  14. This is more than a bit embarrassing (and expensive), but with all the rearrangements and whatnot I completely forgot I had bought tickets to this for the previously arranged September edition. My wife has covid and in any case it’s too late to get the time off work etc. does anyone know if there’s an official resale site etc that we could try and sell the tickets on (rather last minute I know!)
  15. They’ve always done this, and gradually have opened up more and more of the festival site for settlers to accommodate those that rock up on the gate. There really isn’t any reason they wouldn’t let people do this, it’s 25% more on each ticket with barely any additional cost - a tremendous money spinner
  16. It doesn’t fill me with confidence about their financial stability to be honest. I’m sure they’d be able to grab some sponsorship money if they really need to but it wouldn’t inspire much investor confidence would it!
  17. They also have asked this in every questionnaire for the last seven or eight years and haven’t become a corporate nightmare, I wouldn’t lose too much sleep!
