2016 had oomph that's lacking here - Art Garfunkel, Ronnie Spector, ZZ Top, Beck, etc.
I agree saw a lot of really good stuff that year

For those who may not know the legend in Liverpool managed the record label that bought us half man half biscuit .
But a major force in Liverpool punk new wave scene and founder of the fantastic probe records were many of us spent many a happy hour .
Pete wylie Pete burns Paul Rutherford amongst many former staff of the shop .
All the names of 70s 80s echo and the bunnymen omd teardrop explodes wah deaf school all benefited from the support of Geoff.

Surely he'll bring bernie on to thank him for writing so many great songs with him

You get the impression that Elton really gets it, the Glastonbury headline slot just needs hit after hit after hit, and for it to be an occasion, and say what you want about him but he does provide that. Elton John will probably be up there with Bowie in terms of Glastonbury legend headliners..
Probably very few artists who have enough big songs that are known to such a wide demographic.

Hmm not sure about just giving some other act valuable setlist time to play one of his own songs…
Bet most of crowd thinking wtf

Just watched him playing drums with the pretenders on I player.
I have no problem with him popping up not a massive ff fan but he seems a genuinely nice and cool guy and if he wants a bit of fun jumping on with his mates go for it
-
Not particularly a fan so wouldn't have been there or at gnr to be fair .
But if someone was going to be up their own backside would have bet on axel .
Anyway really poor attitude to her fans don't blame the festival her and her associates would know the rules .

Just watched it through sounded fine but very little interaction and set was all over the place

Young fathers are just an incredible live act wish I'd been there

I walked across the top an hour before and it was getting busy then. Having a relax at the tent with the kids before young fathers and arctics. The foos bore me but they do know how to put on a show, great booking for the festival. I would have been down the front if it had been pulp
Good choice young fathers one of the best live acts I've seen in many a year

Yeah its defo a festival line up to walk around and try to discover something.
Agree with that if I'd gone I'd have definitely been spending a lot of time exploring and hopefully finding some new gems

Tbh the line up this year is not great for my tastes . But I'd still have found enough to see and do and wish I was there .
Carly would have been on my list and she's knocking it out the park

A deeply sad loss a great bassist in a great band . I still listen to the smiths occasionally but have had a full on day to revisting many of the greatest .
Marrs guitar and Andy bass are a perfect match .
-
Damien rice Manchester Albert Hall weds.
I will admit a bias as just a massive fan but Damien was sublime one of the most perfect voices I've ever heard . Strangely after such a long gap only one brand new song but he said more to come
Don't think there will be such a long break till his next tour and new music
-
Just on way home from young fathers in Manchester I'll not see a better live gig this year .
Just get to see them if you can absolutely brilliant 👏

Haven't got tickets this year but think line up overall is not that bad plenty I'd be interested in seeing ...depending on scheduling.
Would keep me away from pyramid as I'd possibly see Coldplay again . But not interested in dua and don't know who sza is .
But the national lcd soundsystem arlo janelle would all be definitely on my list
