  2. I don't like his musical output but his cameo on modern family was great. He clearly has a sense of humour, knows how to design a stage show & loves Glastonbury. Not a bad sort
  3. Disagree. I've seen a few good acts in Avalon and also like the food options in that area
  4. The first time I had it, it was mind blowing because I'd never had Rekorderlig or Kopparberg. Now if you want a flavoured fruit cider there are so many better options.
  5. Legends has become too cheesy for me and taking that approach really limits who they can have and probably the reason ELO completely flopped as people just expect cheese from that spot on the line up now. You could argue they let too many people in for the duration of the festival
  6. I'd missed the fact there was a new Mattiel album. Love her voice, will need to check it out.
  7. Think I'm the same as you. Not listened to anything else new this month, but loving the Mysterines album
  8. Not sure if it's already known, but Craig Charles just said on his show that he's DJing at 1pm on Friday at Shangri La. He's interviewing Annie Mac who has said she can't say if she's playing Glastonbury as it's not been announced and she might get into trouble, but it seemed like as much as a confirmation you could get without actually confirming.
  9. Unfortunately was a bit hungover after football and Glasgow Wet Leg gig sold out before I even tried to get tickets 😞
  10. That's a pretty inaccurate summary of the article you linked. Lizzo co-wrote a song with Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen and Yves Rothman that contained that line. Article doesn't say which of the 4 came up with the line. And the 3 of them want co-writing credits for Truth Hurts but it says the judge mainly sided with Lizzo in her summary judgement.
  11. Completely disagree with the bit I bolded. If your further back at night the stage is almost completely obscured by the flags of people in front of the barrier. The closer a flag is to the stage the more it blocks out for those behind it. Someone in the middle of the crowd with a flag is ruining the view of 4 or 5 people. Someone at the front with a flag is ruining the view of thousands of people. Not sure why people don't take collapsible flag poles. One of my mates always takes a flag. Holds it up whilst he's waiting for gigs to start, makes it really easy to find him. The second the bands starts he takes the flag down and puts it in his bag. If someone in our group goes away for a piss or to get pints it will go back up till they return then he'll put it away again. Occasionally a random person in the crowd will ask if you can put the flag up for ten minutes till my friends find me which we'll always oblige and is a nice way to meet new people. Really feel like if everyone had the same attitude you would get the benefits of both worlds.
  12. I think there are some people that are selfish and don't care and will ignore polite requests. But there are others that don't realise how annoying their behaviour is and would actually moderate it if they realised. At the end of the day if Glastonbury did promote good crowd etiquette I don't see how it could do any harm.
  13. I liked their first album, less fussed about anything since then. They were good the last time they played.
  14. I think they just shouldn't be allowed in the front section of the crowd. They are useful for meeting up and add some flavour to the festival. But if you are in the first 30 rows or so and you're waving a massive flag you're just an arsehole trying to get on tv that's ruining thousands of other peoples view/experience. Also think the front section should have one side that's the entrance and one that's the exit and be manned by stewards (who could also prevent people taking flags into that bit). Before I went to Glasto I used to go to T in The Park. Glastonbury is better in every other way, but when it comes to managing entry to front barriers T in the Park was actually much better. Glastonbury it's just a mad crush as everyone tries to leave and enter at same time through same bit. Whereas T in the Park did it like I described, one side is the entrance, one is the exit and stewards enforce it.
  15. Didn't realise that. Now I feel a dick for criticising the dancing 🙈 Hope you enjoy the show. I'm sure you will to be honest, they were great.
  16. Went to see Self Esteem at the QMU in Glasgow on Tuesday. Getting in was a bit of a farce, massive queue and turned out it was because rather than scanning the QR code on your ticket they were just asking everyone their name and address and ticking them off from a list. Gig itself was brilliant. Really good atmosphere. She said Glasgow was one of the first gigs on the tour to sell out and she'd been really looking forward to it. Always a bit sceptical artists say that every where, but they did all come across like they were really enjoying themselves. Loved the harmonies between her and her backing singers and thought the drummer was fantastic. Could be doing without the 90s boy band style synchronised dancing, but overall thought it was a fantastic show.
  17. I might be in the minority and it might be because I have a sweet tooth, but I love Somersby. Though I also liked it when the festival sold Thatchers. Both are a billion times better than Strongbow or Magners, which are the only ciders in most pubs I go to
  18. I read a lot, but don't really contribute to this thread often. Just finished A Man Called Ove and had to share how good I thought it was. Best book I've read in ages. Loved the humour in it, but it was also very touching and heart warming.
  19. As a computer programmer I'd say the correct date format is year month then day as it makes sorting dates by order easy. Have no idea why anyone would think month day year is a good idea though.
  20. Mavis was brilliant. One of the things I was most looking forward to that year and she completely lived up to my expectations.
  21. She likes the Cure, but she's not a massive obsessive fan. She would have grown up with her brother and sister playing them a lot so think it was more a nostalgia thing for her that didn't live up to her memories.
  22. I don't agree with this, but I think Pyramid headliners are no longer for me. All the recent headliners have all been either an act I have no interest in seeing or an act I have already seen headline.
  23. I don't know. Last year James and Modest Mouse had 2 of my favourite albums and both have been going for far longer than 20 years.
  24. I found it boring too, though I didn't really expect to enjoy it either. Only really like 2 or 3 of their songs and went to keep my girlfriend happy. Annoyingly she also found it boring AF. Wouldn't have minded sacrificing a headliner if it had given her some amazing happy memories, but just felt a waste when she didn't even enjoy it. If I remember right Christene and the Queens and Janelle Monae both headlined that night and I'm sure I would have loved either of their sets
  25. The Beat Hotel is meant to be getting replaced with something else by the same team: https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/2019-iconic-beat-hotels-last-3033287
