I love Tony's chocolate, I love Glastonbury, yet somehow I missed a Tony's Glastonbury competition 😮 Don't remember seeing this, though have cut back on my Tony's consumption as it's so bloody expensive

10 years or so older than you & I remember liking Like a virgin, like a prayer & the song she did for Austin Powers (personally felt that was a belter of a tune, but thinking it might not be on her setlist).

Dua Lipa is one of the best pop acts in recent years so hoping that one comes true.
Madonna would be an interesting booking. Not really my thing, but would maybe end up there out of curiosity.
Coldplay bore me to tears, but appreciate they are popular. I'd def be somewhere else when they are playing if I'm lucky enough to get tickets. Just hope I don't like the subheadliner, was really excited for Beck a few years back & it was ruined by the fact 90% of the audience clearly weren't in to it & were just waiting for Coldplay.

Not been following rumours this year. Thought I'd quickly come on here & find out. Read 2 pages of people arguing about the type of acts that should be headlining & no actual suggestions of who is rumoured.
To add my 2 cents to the debate ideally the headliners should be 3 very different acts. Its great to have a pyramid headliner to look forward to all day & booking varied acts is best way to ensure most people get the joy of that feeling. There is millions to do at the festival away from the Pyramid & I always love going to loads of different stages, but I still find it disappointing years were there are no Pyramid headliners I'm looking forward to. Something that had been happening more often for me in recent years, though if I'd been lucky enough to get tickets last year I would have been buzzing for Elton & Lizzo.

As someone who used to go to T in the Park I don't think Glastonbury is that bad for it. At T in the Park was just the accepted norm to piss on the land. Any fence was basically an unofficial urinal and the lassies were just about as bad as the guys. Been to 5 or 6 Glastonbury's and only seen one woman pissing in public.
I used to enjoy T in the Park, but it was a real eye opener going to my first Glastonbury and realising how much of a nicer environment a festival can be. -

It slightly annoys me paying deposit for Glastonbury tickets when I don't know the line up, even though every time I've been its brilliant and I know there are so many stages that even if I'm not excited about the big acts there will definitely be lots of good music I do like.
So to pay in advance for a festival you don't know the date of that is being organised by someone whose only previous experience of running a festival ended in disaster and with him going to prison blows my mind.
Wonder if he genuinely has sold tickets or if that's just another lie from him to try to make the event seem more desirable. -
For me it's more about the band than the stage, but West Holts does always seem to have a fun atmosphere so would prob vote for it.
If it's a band you like & the crowd is up for it Pyramid can be brilliant. Though can be rubbish if you are excited for an act & everyone else is just waiting for next act. An uninterested Pyramid crowd ruined Beck a bit for me when he was sandwiched between Coldplay & Elle Goulding.
Special mention to Pussy Parleur which has some out there bookings. Had some fantastic times there

There's legitimate reasons to doubt whether she'd want to take the wage cut, or whether she'd want to fit into the Festival (she can't exactly clear out the site for a soundcheck for example).
But then it's Glastonbury, those questions come up for many high tier artists and get resolved.
That was an absolute horrendous performance too. She was very out of tune watching it live (think there was some controversy at the time as she released a video with it autotuned to make it sound like she could sing live afterwards)

saw the Who backed by an orchestra in Edinburgh castle on Saturday. Really good gig, Roger's voice is still sounding superb.

I left Gorillaz and caught the end of Flaming Lips. Really regret not leaving sooner, what we saw of the Flaming Lips was fantastic whilst Gorillaz was dull as ditchwater

Not sure if it's realistic, but Joni Mitchell just played her first show in decades. Lots of great songs, undoubtedly a legend, would be a real wow booking and some of her songs fit in with the festivals eco ideals("They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot" has to be one of the greatest lyrics about humanity destroying nature, simple but poignant) -

She was horrendous in 2014. Was actually painful to listen to. Was amazed when I saw Blondie had been invited back. Didn't watch their set this year so have no idea if she's improved, stayed the same or got worse.

Lets be honest though, for headliner performances at the Pyramid, 99% of the crowd can't see the stage for flag w*nkers. It's not like you can just move to the side a little to get a better view when there are so many of them and a lot of them are right at the front spoiling everyone's view.

This has always been my thought. It's the ones at the very front that spoil absolutely everyone's view. Getting in and out at the entrance to the crush barrier is always a nightmare. Could put security there and make one side an entrance, one an exit and they could check for flags at the same time. Solves two problems at once.
Find flags useful for finding your mate in the crowd. Though we only put them up when we're trying to meet up with friends. Occasionally someone else near us in the crowd will ask us to put it back up so their friend can find them. Flags can be useful, but the people that wave them around at the front just to be seen on tv are selfish dicks.

for biggest crowd in smallest stage I remember one year randomly wandering into a tiny venue that I'd never seen before or since where it was like you were in a house party (just looked like a living room you'd see on Coronation street in the 70s, they had the flying ducks thing on the wall and horrendous old wall paper). Was absolutely rammed to a guy playing jazzy versions of pop songs with everyone singing along. Everybody refused to let him leave when his set finished so he had to keep playing (only time I've seen an artist physically forced to do an encore by the audience). was really surreal. think it was somewhere near West Holts, remember wandering into it after the The Mothership Returns - George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic & The Family Stone set in 2015.
