Just because it's Sunday and I'm bored. Number of 'hearts/likes' for each headliner as they have been promoted by Sziget on Instagram (one post each): Macklemore: 4,248 Billie: 3,550 Lorde: 2,697 Imagine Dragons: 2,288 David Guetta: 1,151 Mumford: 852 Florence: 820 Maybe we underestimated Macklemore's appeal!!

We stayed in the city in 2022 and got a taxi home each night. Ride to chain bridge was about 10 mins and cost about 12 euros. Wait time differed every night. One night (can't remember which) we had about a one hour wait. Most other nights it was around 15/20 mins.

Loyle Carner has just been announced as headliner on West Holts stage at Glastonbury this year, and Arlo Parks won the Mercury Music prize in the UK in 2021 so both have a very decent pedigree. Just neither are particularly my cup-of-tea......not enough guitars! Lol

I think that final stat is a really dangerous one for them to focus on. We attended first time (2019) for the line-up. We came back in 2022 for, well, Sziget. However, lots of what made the festival in 2019 had gone - decorations etc. We are back this year and if this hasn't improved then we won't be coming back unless the line-up is one not to miss. If you focus on 75% of people coming no matter what the line-up is then where's the impetus to create a fantastic line up and not just book Mumford and Sons and Macklemore again?

I'd tend to agree. First announcement a solid 3.5 whereas today is probably a 2. So many acts around that have been missed. I'd love to know why Mumford has been chosen over Blur, for example. I look at my 2019 plastic pint pot with a line-up I absolutely loved (our first visit) and we were running from stage to stage. That won't happen this year although, I've got to say, I prefer this year's line-up to 2022. I'd take Mumford and Sons over Justin Bieber every day of the week. Just.

You're overthinking it. It's just a design quirk. However, I wouldn't rule out a strong(ish) sub being announced once they realise that day tickets aren't selling at the expected rate!

I saw Arlo Parks support Foals in 2021 and she had a great voice but her stage presence was non-existent. If either are supporting as the sun sets it will be AJR. Arlo is definitely an afternoon act.

What makes you say that AJR are likely subs?

We had Holly Humberstone on there last year so literally anything's possible.

I was worried that Arlo Parks was being classed as the sub for M&S but it doesn't look like it from that poster, so we might get a decent name in that position in announcement three.

Fuck me, that's even worse than I was expecting. Literally 25 acts there that I've never heard of.

I read recently - probably on here - that festival planners often start with a Plan A, and when that doesn't work out they move to Plan B and then Plan C and so on until they tend to finish with Plan F. There is no way organisers of Sziget started out with blank sheet of paper with Mumford and Sons at the top as main choice. They were huge ten years ago after their first two albums but their two most recent efforts have flopped - along with the lead singer's solo effort. They are literally yesterday's news. But, if they have an ounce of self-awareness then they'll play the hits and probably put on a good show. However, I suspect the turnout won't be great.

And either Bonobo or The Blaze....I think!

Doing the maths, we are getting Caroline Polochek or Fever Ray.

There could still be some surprise great acts tomorrow. Leaks only answered our suggestions, so it could be that we weren't asking all of the right questions....

Definitely neither coming I'm afraid, just need to work through the numbers that Leaks provided earlier and both are ruled out.

If Mumford and Sons headline the main stage on Sunday night they'll potentially be up against Nothing But Thieves in Freedome. Better get there early folks!

Also deffo no Bicep and no First Aid Kit. Let's hope there's a few rock/indie acts on the undercard.
