Alison Goldfrapp is great but not exactly a like for like change up is it.
Judging by her singles, she could be this year's Jessie Ware

Four Tet, Fred Again and Skrillex have just announced they are playing MSG this coming Saturday 😱

VIP stands will return to their original position towards the sides of the stage.
edited, for more context:
QuoteQ: Where will the VIP areas be this year?
AL: There will be no VIP area in front of the stage. Artists want their fans in front. VIP area includes preferential access.

Alfonso Lanza is currently having a Q&A at Radio Primavera Sound:
QuotePrimavera won’t be using the Sant Adria site [where BITS etc traditionally were] this year because we can’t use the bridge. The festival site will be more compact: there will be less walking.
QuoteThe stages that were in Sant Adria will be relocated to the main Forum site. The capacity of the festival will be reduced in line with these changes, as the public wanted. The Primavera stage will be bigger.
QuoteQ: What can we expect from the concerts in the Auditori de Barcelona this year? expect from the concerts in the Auditori de Barcelona this year?
AL: Swans, John Cale, Laurie Anderson (I think), Boris…
QuoteAt the Lope de Vega Theatre in Madrid there will be a parallel [Auditori] program during daytime as a warm up to the Arganda del Rey fanzone.
QuoteThere will be a reservation system via AccessTicket. To ensure that people with reservations actually attend, the reservation will cost a ‘symbolic’ price. This will be returned as a credit in AccessTicket to consume at the festival when entering the venue.

I watch an interview Dua Lipa made at her show in London 2 weeks ago. She's speaking about her new album that she hopes to fully finish in 2023. Seems she won't tour next year or maybe in Fall. But for sure 0 festivals. It was already clear now but am I the only surprised that she won't be playing some festivals on her "Future Nostalgia" era? Except Sziget, I don't remember she headlined some massive European festivals... that's too bad. I hope to see her and/or Billie Eilish at Werchter in 2023.

I've been checking their pages every day and started to worry they wouldn't go ahead.
Then the good news came today.
Probably, due to Primavera Madrid, their lineup will be a lot different from Primavera one... And so they had to work hard to complete a good program. Let's wait.
Primavera Madrid AND Porto, doesn't leave a lot of overlap margin.
Blur might be available on the Sunday

Is the BCN one likely to sell out? Thinking of getting tickets but need to sort flights and accommodation (any tips welcome) before - and also need to convince my gf to come with me!
Will def sell better than Madrid

This is exactly where I am too. It's good value for sure, but I think I'll leave it off.
That said, that Wednesday is great for a short day - Kendrick, Baby Keem and FKA Twigs is an excellent trio.
+ Georgia and The Comet is Coming

Waewe , another musical project by Coxon of Blur, added to the program
Just to nitpick, it's called The WAEVE, and so far it's actually pretty good

AM / QOTSA / Rosalia then? With CATQ in the Barn.
I'd bet on Rosalia playing the Barn to counter AM/QOTSA

@Orens and Sunday? Thursday/Friday are properly stacked but Sunday more of a challenge for me. On my must sees, I only have Overmono, Two Shell, Jockstrap, FKA Twigs and Rosalia, Kelela, Domi & JD Beck (I assume some of these will clash for sure).
I'm assuming you meant Saturday 🙂
Caroline Polachek, Jayda G, Nia Archives, Anish Kumar, St Vincent, Mala (dj set), Jockstrap, Death Grips, bar italia and Calvin Harris (OK OK, probably not the last one)

Any suggestions for the Thursday ? I still find it the weakest of the days despite Blur. I am looking forward to turnstile, pusha t, blackhaine, emeralds, hud mo, Alex g. I like what I heard from la tigre and nxworries but I don’t know if they are going to be must-see of mine. Not very interested in darkside (should I?), I don’t know much about ghost, I have already seen Boris and amenra (in a great double-bill, both recommended). BCNR? If it’s the same show I’ll skip them
+ Sudan Archives, The Comet is Coming, Sparks, Arthur Verocai, Yard Act, Folamour

Does Porto have much recent history of getting its own standalone headliners? Or are we more likely to see something like St Vincent and the War on Drugs bumped up into the top spots, alongside Blur and the Pet Shop Boys?
Do we reckon the Fred Again, Four Tet side of it transfers too? And some decent slots of Pusha T and Loyle Carner too?
I'll be surprised to see Depeche Mode as they announced all their dates together earlier in the year, and I don't think Calvin Harris or Kendrick would be bankers either but I guess I wouldn't have had much luck predicting the Barcelona and Madrid line ups either if I'd been asked to!
Justice did headline there in 2017, while headlining Sonar instead of Primavera. It could happen again (especially due to the Madrid addition)

If Ken is right about the Friday headliner being a first timer, I think this is the only spot Blur could take...
Blur have played back in 2013

Rosalía has struggled to sell her tour in Spain this year. This was mainly due to the excessive price point. Might do better as part of a festival though.
Not just Spain but specifically Barcelona. She's a legit homegrown Primavera headliner. Pretty sure she was speaking Catalan during her set back in 2019, and her set in general has had an insane turnout. IIRC her day was the first one to sell out that year, and she's so much bigger this time around.

Price gap has always been similar to that, no news there. I can’t not see Blur here, but those are just my 2cents
Could be a bit different game this year with Madrid on the second weekend, and the need to attract overseas customers to Madrid as well, but who knows honestly. Pulling for Blur on this one.
Primavera Sound Barcelona 2023 + Primavera Sound Madrid 2023

Most if not all of them already were on the Porto bill, just tweaked the days a bit.
