Except Jóhann Johansson's passing, that is.

New stage? Unrelated to the Bits?

They are playing the Apolo in October 2018, booked by Primavera Sound. I went through the numbers, and it seems that we have 102 announced acts meant to play inside the Forum: 36 on the Thursday (including Auditori acts), 33 on the Friday and 33 on the Saturday. That's on par with 2017 (33-31-33 acts per day, playing the big six stages inside the Forum).

It's a longshot but I'm hoping for a late Soulwax addition, seeing that they were just added to the APE bill.

PS already noted there will be more than a 50-piece orchestra. I meant he isn't touring with the band, obviously. Also worth mentioning that they had a decent spot back in 2015, and no word on a new album so far (Dan said he'll be in the studio soon, though)

Not all of those. I believe Four Tet, Daphni are playing twice. Many live electronic acts might be too big for the Bits as constructed in 2017 and might go to the big night spots (3AM at the Ray-Ban + DJ set afterwards), which will be a delight. Yes, that's what I meant. That was the 2017 Bits poster:

Perhaps more fit for you, it has great bands but no better than Primavera. It has a great certain niche, that's for sure.

Ah, missed NOS Alive. Thundercat plays Thursday in Denmark and Sunday in Bonnaroo. He tours like crazy, it might happen. Gorillaz, I don't think so.

Besides Nick Cave, playing in Europe that weekend and probably could fit in their schedule (until further announcements): Arctic Monkeys (just kidding), Thom Yorke, Lorde, A$AP Rocky, Father John Misty, Grizzly Bear, The War On Drugs, CHVRCHES, Vince Staples, Tyler, the Creator, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Waxahatchee, Warpaint, Jon Hopkins live, Rhye, Deerhunter, Superorganism, Thundercat, Tom Misch, Confidence Man, The Internet, Bonobo, The Blaze, Kelela

I have yet to see Caribou and hoping to see it some other time, Dan clearly isn't touring with Caribou this time around. Hopefully in 2019. Don't sleep on James Holden and the Animal Spirits (live) and Lindstrøm. This is going to be the best electronic lineup I've ever attended, and we have yet to receive the Bits (beach) poster.

    A Festival Gauntlet

RW isn't very unique. Not many stages (and acts), all are big ones. I'd recommend on Primavera Sound, Roskilde, probably All Points East (we should get more acts soon but I really like their curation so far).

    Primavera 2018

Clearly other people don't see it that way. Sure, I like Tyler and Vince better but we're talking about the world's trendiest Hip Hop group, which rarely books gigs outside the US. Since 2015 (long before their popularity took off) they only played a couple of August 2017 festivals in Europe (with the second font size, in the ones I checked). This year they might play Europe for only one weekend: Friday at PS and Saturday at Paris' We Love Green. Based on their extensive US touring, it sounds like no Euro tour is going on. IMO, that's a pretty good way to appeal to a younger crowd. By the way, I checked the tour of A$AP Rocky (a phenomenon which I have yet to realize). It appears that since 2015 he only played Reading&Leeds 2016 in Europe, nothing in 2017 and no other gigs in 2018 so far. While personally I like rtj and Skepta much better, those came early in the second font size of 2017 and were no special offering. I'm sure Migos and Rocky's unique bookings play a role in their placement on the poster.

At first I thought Migos is rubbish, but I found internal logic and rhythm in it. I really like some of their Culture bangers. I think they will close the Mordor, overlapping with Ty Segall on the Primavera Stage, so I won't be in attendance (hey @dentalplan, I'm doing my best Gabi impression just for you!)
