  1. There's a fan zone with a big screen at the Praça do Comércio (comercio square) in downtown Lisbon by the river. See pics below. The atmosphere will be amazing for the Portugal v Wales semi final on Wednesday but I imagine it'll be impossible to get anywhere near the screen!

Someone previously mentioned that there was also a big screen for the World Cup in 2014 at the Parque Eduardo VII but apparently there isn't one there this time.  Instead there is a fan park at Alameda. See pic below with the park/trees.

  2. A couple of people have done these clashfinders which look to have been updated with all the correct set start times and a bit of educated guesswork for the times sets will finish.  They're very similar and should be fairly accurate.  Gives a bit of a clearer look at the clashes and the chances of watching part of one act then part of another etc.  As a few people have mentioned, it will be difficult to watch Tame Impala then a bit of Father John Misty then to try to get a good spot for Radiohead.

  3. The main stage line up for the 9th is a bit disappointing compared to the other days especially as it's the 10th edition and the last day of the Festival. Thursday 7th has Chemical Brothers and Pixies who seem to be equally billed as like co headliners, Robert Plant from the legendary band Led Zeppelin, Biffy Clyro who are headlining Reading/Leeds and the 1975 who have just had a number 1 album in the UK and US at the same time. Friday main stage has 3 amazing bands including Radiohead who just had their tour sell out in minutes and Foals who are headlining Reading/Leeds. Arcade Fire will be amazing on the last night but I think they definitely could/should have got another big name to play 2nd or 3rd down.  Still plenty of spaces for the Heineken stage over the 3 days so hopefully there are still some more decent names.

  4. Looking at the previous 3 years, they seem to have only 5 acts on the main stage each day and 9 on the Heineken stage, so that looks like it for the main stage on the Saturday. A lot of people seemed to expect a sub to be announced to go in between M83 and Arcade Fire but that doesn't look likely now. There should be one more main stage act to be announced for the Friday but it could be a lesser known act to go on first which seems to always be 6pm on the main stage. Hopefully still some decent names to be announced for the Heineken stage.

  5. I think it's only a few minutes walk between the stages. But then obviously getting close to the front could be difficult if you're not there early for certain acts. Someone mocked this up based on the layout in 2014 I think.

The Friday is the best day for me so hoping the clashes are not too bad. Foals, Tame Impala and Radiohead are must sees for me but would also like to see Father John Misty, Courtney Barnett, Two Door Cinema Club and Hot Chip.

    ......

I'm not sure what all this shows (apart from I have too much time on my hands). Any acts that are touring could get taken by other events the same weekend or could get taken by one of the other festivals in Portugal. Very difficult to predict who we could get for NOS Alive. Hopefully they have a few more names lined up. Today's announcement of Carlão doesn't seem to bode too well. People have commented on the FB page (translated), 'It's that part where you run out of money and meet the rest of the poster with straw', 'Get more than a week without announcing anything to announce this...'

New Order are potentially available on the 8th but the NOS Alive line up seems pretty full that day already.

  7. I missed out on tickets to Primavera so considering this. The lineup looks great so far but seems to have been nothing announced for almost 2 weeks. Are we expecting some names this week?

Anyone know if any of these are likely/possible?

    • The Maccabees
    • Sigur Ros
    • Kendrick Lamar
