  1. Perhaps controversial, but I’m not fond of either San Remo (old Beat Hotel) or Brothers. I prefer nearby options to both. (Mandela or Tolpuddle to San Remo, and West Holts to Brothers).
  2. 12 of my favourites 1. Avalon 2. Tricketts 3. West Holts Bar 4. Bimble Inn 5. Cockmills 6. Theatre & Circus Bar 7. Bar on the Green 8. Cornish Arms 9. Bread and Roses 10. Ridge and Furrow 11. Mandela Bar 12. Tolpuddle Arms
  3. It certainly exists, it’s in the field behind the Acoustic tent ... you head up the lane with the Acoustic tent on your right, it’s about 50 yards past it on the right. It’s imaginatively called “The Pub in a Field” with a sign with a cow on it. Last year it had live music, but sadly no pool table. I was working Cockmill last year, and it was a regular post shift haunt.
  4. ** camping geek alert ** You need high tensile steel pegs if the grounds brick hard. Beware of ones calling themselves “heavy duty” which, unless they are high tensile steel, are usually anything but.
  5. What @EFC1996 said. You can’t expect to grab a portion of prime real estate in Big Ground (for example) and tell other early arrivals (who have probably been queuing specifically to get a good spot) you’re saving it for later arrivals. If you choose one of the further out sites it should be ok.
  6. I soak a bandana and put it on, same principal.
  7. Me leaving Pyramid after Foos.
  8. Great work.... you might want to change Williams Green to Meeting Point or Carhenge for newbies though.
  9. Someone make this into a T-shirt. Efests quote of the year.
  10. Doreen Doreen in Astrolabe then Fatboy at The Temple for me.
  11. I’ve camped in Darble three times, and you can rest easy, despite being the nearest to Gate A, it’s one of the last to fill up (and doesn’t really get really full). Think that’s down to it being so far out, and the furthest point to get to from the SE corner. It’s quiet, and suits me, but it’s not really a spot you want to pop back to during the day.
  12. A finger will suffice. I’m not greedy.
  13. How selfish?!? TAKE. ONE. FOR. THE. TEAM.
  14. So for reference, See tracker updated a Wednesday to say dispatched, I got the eMail on Thursday, Royal Mail tracker came to life yesterday, received today around 25 minutes ago.
  15. Well, despite a scenic detour around East Lothian, my ticket has arrived! Yippee!
  16. Oh for heavens sake. Looks like the dumb feckers have sent mine to Dunbar instead of Dunfermline.......
  17. Ticket left Nottingham and on its way to Edinburgh......
  18. Mine dispatched Thursday.... and same here, tracker has just kicked in saying in Nottingham, delivery tomorrow ! Was beginning to get slightly concerned. Seems to me there’s a definite and significant delay between the See dispatch and Royal Mail receipt.
  19. Think I’ve got an hour to get to West Holts for Young Fathers after Churnups.... which may even allow time for a swift pint/bite to eat.
  20. Or in them. All primed for some cheesy disco classics.
  21. Can see the Free Press Saturday headline now..... ”bennyhana with gap in festival schedule shocker”
