  1. Look what arrived in the post today 🙂
  2. It's on the Andalucia Big Festival Instagram story https://www.instagram.com/andaluciabig/ The earlier ones, where they said they were working on Friday 8th, but had some other good news, was on Mad Cool's instagram story. Hopefully the Mad Cool news isn't about Andalucia.
  3. There's a big difference between confirming the location, and the message about QOTSA. Moving location at this stage would be huge and there hasn't been any hint that it would happen. Actively telling people the location when it's going to move would just be bizarre - after all when your communication is so bad, why reply at all? Bands cancel all the time, and the QOTSA message specifically addressed the rumours of them not playing by saying Mad Cool hadn't been told that by the band yet. I know we all joked about it, but that's definitely a more ambiguous "holding" message than the location ones.
  4. They replied this month to people saying it’ll be at "Madcool space in Valdebebas", so unless they waited months to reply to messages just to tell people the wrong info, I think we're safe 🙂 Someone on Reddit had the same reply:
  5. They've been replying to people on twitter and facebook in the last couple of weeks saying it's the same location as before.
  6. That's only half the story. Is that, "We continue working on Friday but tomorrow we bring you other good news"? Suggesting that it's not the missing headliners.
  7. I think they're just trolling @xxialac now. Although maybe \Mad Cool will be waiting on the 8th, and at about 6pm someone will say, "do you think we should call them? Just in case?"
  8. And you get to see Queens of the Stone Age too.
  9. If you log into the Mad Cool Area of the website with your original ticket details then the new ones will be there. They still plan on sending out wristbands, but it's a reassuring way of checking tickets (e.g. mine were bought in 2019! and some were original FNAC packs).
  10. I remember looking at the original venue - pretty sure there was something bizarre about most accommodation being a little away from the festival, but they mentioned the possibility that with heavy snow this might be cut off from the festival site! Berlin festival did it a few years ago too. I went to the festival at Templehof a couple of times - they had lots of issues but it was a fantastic location and great experience - but in their final year, they moved it away from the airport (which was one of the coolest venues you can imagine) at short notice to a warehouse complex, even cutting down the line up. The worst part was they made out this was a great thing as it was more in tune with the ethos of the festival 😕
  11. Yeah - I checked the same yesterday. It's not on my new 2022 tickets @jonnytee1 that you download from the Mad Cool area. At least it's been confirmed to someone on this thread a few days ago (p37).
  12. To be fair, I think there were plans to redevelop the site, and 2020 was possibly going to the last Mad Cool at that location. Covid appears to have put off those plans, but I think that was where the idea originated, rather than just being plucked from mid air. Otherwise, I agree. We're here because we enjoy constant commentary, chasing rumours, thinking about the events we're going to. However, if we're partly responsible for the running commentary on events which used to take place behind the scenes, being in the public domain, then it feels like a shame that we get upset when organisers don't provide their own running commentary.
  13. Those two last names would be amazing - but aren't they both doing one festival as exclusives?
  14. Worried may be the wrong word - I just meant that ultimately if we didn't pay so much attention we wouldn't even know or care about it 🙂
  15. I'm not suggesting you have to accept it, I'm saying that ultimately it's not a huge deal, and worrying about something that's out of your control isn't going to make you happy. Social media may amplify voices, but if this has even the tiniest effect on Mad Cool sales next year, I'd be amazed. Just look at the festival market in the UK - a city with a population in the millions isn't going to be saturated by two festivals with lineups that only vaguely crossover.
  16. I agree - there's clearly something a bit dodgy with the culture at Mad Cool, but I think most people couldn't care less about this stuff. It probably says a lot that as soon as you mentioned posting on Facebook, I remembered seeing the post. Bands drop out of festivals all the time, often with much less than three months, and considering the churn most festivals have had since I bought my ticket in 2019, I'm not going to worry about a few weeks here or there. Weren't QOTSA one of the last bands to be announced, after the majority of tickets had been sold? I think we're just a bit too interested in what's going on, and maybe miss out on the big picture. So long as there is music in July we'll be happy.
  17. I think the evidence they're touring around this time is pretty strong, so I wouldn't get too excited. I also wouldn't recognise them in the street 😉
  18. Has anyone watched their 100 day video and worked out who is missing?
  19. What is happening with Cypress Hill to make them headliners? They played in 2017 and weren't even in bold on the line up - at least nine other names bigger than them. Seems like a very odd choice.
  20. If they have a pdf ticket they can try and log in here: https://www.madcoolarea.es/area/ That's probably the quickest way to confirm all ok. Otherwise there's an email on the Mad Cool site that you can contact.
  21. There's a good intro thread here near the top of this page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/madcoolfestival which covers loads of stuff. The transport is some guesswork at the moment, as when I went in 2018 the buses went to a few places, but I believe they only went to Plaza de Castilla in 2019, and so that's maybe likely again this year. Big tip is that if you're standing around queuing to get in, walking to the site, it can be very, very hot - so a hat is handy. When I went they gave them away inside the festival, but really it's when you were queuing and couldn't find shade that you needed them.
  22. Is that just an educated guess? Or inside info? Obviously Weezer are around because their Hella Mega tour finishes the day before in Paris, but is there any indication they'll be hanging around another week for Mad Cool?
  23. How many festivals have cancelled them so far? I know Werchter and Pinkpopp, but there are four I can see where they're still on the poster - all in July. Perhaps it's a little more complicated, or there's some agreement from the band that they won't announce the tour being cancelled, so the festivals are just updating when they have other news?
  24. Can you expand a little? Band names? location? Something bigger/scarier?
  25. Has anyone logged into the Mad Cool Area with a FNAC pack ticket? Have entered all the details correctly, but I'm getting an error, and wondered if anyone had managed it?
