  1. A mistake apparently. 'They do a bleeped version so kids can watch
  2. Ha! Just got back from a gig so not watched yet, but saw mention earlier of the worst task attempt in Taskmaster history so guessing it's that
  3. Would the VAT be payed this way, or would it be based on when the festival takes place?
  4. The headline doesn't mention the 100k cash and the empty bags which are probably of more interest to the police.
  5. When it comes to masks I'm very much of the opinion that you should do what makes you feel safer and more comfortable and if that means wearing a mask in a setting that others might not feel necessary then that's a personal call and that's fine. Having said that, the couple I saw in a rowing boat in the middle of Lake Windermere probably didn't need their masks today.
  6. Succession has finally got a release date October 18th Can't wait
  7. My reaction to reading the story about us running out of electricity was just 'well, obviously'
  8. Gove to the Ministry of Sound (would love to take credit for that, but have to own up, I did nick it)
  9. Literally a phone call even as late as half an hour before would help. Heard some horror stories from friends in the industry. I think quite a few places round here that normally take bookings stopped doing so this summer. But it's been so busy around here they could and know they'd fill tables anyway. Shit for customers who want to plan though. We've not been too affected by it. We don't take bookings for the restaurant and we have credit card details (or they've prepaid) for accommodation. There's been the occasional no show where they've blocked or cancelled the credit card but no more then usual and very low numbers
  10. Not at Latitude they weren't. And I've quite enjoyed then when I've seen them before
  11. Absolutely brilliant episode of Ted Lasso this week. I've not loved this season as much as the first one. Don't get me wrong, it's still been very good, some episodes have been great (the Christmas episode especially) but it's not had that 'something' that the first season had. I don't know whether that was just partly the surprise and delight first time around. Or even that I binged the first in two days. And some of the characters this time around have lost something. Nathan especially. I see what they are doing with him and trust then to get it right in the end but week to week is just not been as good to be around him/them. But this week, just perfect. Really looking forward to the last two episodes now.
  12. Alright, maybe not David Baddiel levels of stupid (is that even possible) but I can see her making some really odd decisions.
  13. She'll be joining David Baddiel in the 'very smart but incredibly stupid' category but it'll be fun watching her argue with Greg
  14. Yes! Really looking forward to this line up Can't wait to see Victoria Coren-Mitchell take on the Taskmaster.
  15. Wow. They're part of the Britannia chain aren't they? I work in hospitality and there's party of my that kind of admires how wilfully bad they are. Like it takes effort to be that bad. They don't let a little thing like TripAdvisor bother them.
  16. Can imagine a few things being at play here. Some people just can't see beyond the status quo, can't imagine that things could be different. It's always been 5 days a week (I know, it hasn't but you know what I mean) so it always should be. Probably also some who realise they'd have nothing to fill the time with if they weren't at work. Jealousy too. "I had to spend the last 30 years working 5 days a week, why should the next lot get away with doing less?" Even though they'd benefit too they don't like the idea that someone else will benefit more And some people are just miserable sods who like calling anything they don't like or understand 'lefty nonsense'
  17. Wow, Corey's Twitter is pretty grim reading. With pretty much zero engagement from anyone. Which is a very special kind of sad. Doesn't let it stop him though
  18. You can always console yourself that you'll never look like (or, for that matter, be) Michael Gove
  19. Coach Beard if he hadn't met Ted Lasso
  20. Was talking about this with my Norwich supporting housemate. As much fun as it was winning last season, they're going to have an awful time now. You should be get an option to stay in your league rather than get promoted.
  21. It does if you don't know about it. Once did it to an always late friend. He didn't notice for months. Wouldn't really work anymore with phones/computers/smart watches etc
  22. That's exactly what I thought, so it ended up feeling a bit nothingy after that
