  1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_lie "A big lie (German: große Lüge) is a gross distortion or misrepresentation of the truth, used especially as a propaganda technique.[1][2] The German expression was coined by Adolf Hitler, when he dictated his book Mein Kampf (1925), to describe the use of a lie so colossal that no one would believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously." Hitler claimed that the technique had been used by Jews to blame Germany's loss in World War I on German general Erich Ludendorff, who was a prominent nationalist political leader in the Weimar Republic." Am I being duped? Why would you call it that.

    The Levels

I'm hoping Nia books this absolute banger during her set. Jorja and Nia look live they're having a blast here, love the energy. Nia is around my age and seeing her crowd at Love Saves the Day, I was thinking about how her music is so appealing to people like me who grew up hearing 90s dnb and jungle through music channels, and through video games like Wipeout for the first time. We were born towards the end of the 90s so obviously missed rave culture the first time round. She also grew up not filtering by genre like I'm sure a lot of people did, so hip hop, reggae, uk garage and indie music influence what she des. She filters these reference through a really acessible and fresh sound so it's no surprise she's getting massive.

You're evil posting this mate. As if Nia Archives and Daphni weren't gonna be good enough. I'm so hyped.

    2024 Headliners

Could you elaborate on this a bit more please, what's 'wrong with how young girls are dressing and acting these days?' Yeah clearly, she couldn't be remembered for writing f**king bangerss like Levitating. Of course the looks are part of her image - just like Bowie, Hendrix, The Beatles, Madonna etc. have worked image/sex appeal into their personas.
  6. Eminem is not going to be on the Pyramid lads/ ladies.
  7. Feel like the clashes are particularly bad this year - I want to see Shygirl and Fred, two acts that make sort of alternative/ accessible dance music but Shygirl eats into Fred and is on the Park. I wonder if they were spooked by the crowds/ complaints about them last year and are trying to schedule similar acts at the same time this year. See: Courteeners/ Foo Fighters so Woodsies isn't rammed.
  8. The only thing missing for me there would be Boy Problems, one of the catchiest songs of the 2010s. Regardless, this is going to be of the sets of the weekend, Carly has such an infectious positive energy that I can't wait for.
  9. I find Fred's music relatable when it's about how lockdown is actually emotionally taxing, depressing and can be damaging to your mental health. Especially compared to some of the posts on here from the time telling everyone to "calm down, just go into the garden with your family! It's just a few weeks more!" when I was stuck in a tiny flat.
  10. It's already too middle-class as it is.
  11. You'd think The Lightning Seeds would be perfect for this but they've booked them half way down the line-up.
  12. It's the whole "it'll be a laugh/ semi-ironic nostalgia" thing that was alright a few years ago but I think has permeated all of culture now.
  13. I would think they'd be too rammed for Woodsies but The Foo Fighters are gonna nick a lot of their crowd.
  14. Here's one that will be unpopular: Sparks are crap and dated. I roll my eyes when people start bigging them up to me just because they've watched Anette/ The Sparks Brothers.
  15. Just catching up on 2013 highlights and do the crowds seem livelier to anyone else? @MrZigster I think people are just missing it cos we all have work in the morning. Wouldn't be surprised if people are catching up this week.
  16. Think they'd be accused of hypocrisy for being a dairy farm.
  17. Honestly it’s a difficult one for me. The flags take the absolute piss these days, and contribute to the lack of people dancing at main stages that can be a vibe killer. Seeing the 2013 highlights it’s been so weird to see the main stages without flags everywhere. Also, with the camping chair and picnic blanket w*nkers in the main bit, I’d love for some rules on what you can and can’t bring past a certain point. If you wanna sit at the back with some scrumpy, that’s fine, but blocking people either with your Waitrose spread or flag is taking the piss. I do like how hands off security feel at glasto though, so I don’t really know how you’d enforce it.
  18. Tbh I love the dance side of the festival, they usually manage to pull it out the bag (this year particularly). The fest has always managed to build a good relationship with DJs early in their career and you can see it paying off later. Nia Archives is one of the hottest things in music now and she’s all over the farm. I do agree a bit more variety of late night stuff would be fun though - the unfairground doesn’t really appeal to me. Having stuff like earache on at 3am is a step in the right direction.
  19. I think the problem with the line up this year (and how the festival line-ups are being shaped) is that it's very mixed up with what's popular in The Guardian/ 6Music. As Glasto pays less than other festivals, there are certain acts who would be happy to do it but it means you're missing out on a large chunk of other artists. It feels like there's a lot of stuff that's just not on Glastonbury's radar at all. That being said, last years lineup was pretty mad with popular artists from across genres: Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, Kenrick, Billie Eilish, Bicep, Little Simz, Phoebe Bridgers, Jessie Ware, Olivia Rodrigo, Burna Boy, Wet Leg, Bonobo, Sam Fender - a bunch of artists at their peak plus two of the biggest names in musical history.
  20. Felt like more tickets sold, more people sneaking in, more guest passes etc. last year.

    Four Tet

FFS, that's a shame if so. I caught his KH set last year. It was a DJ set. Great, like, but I want to hear his more ambient stuff. Think that's sold me on The Last Dinner Party.

    Four Tet

Kieran was great at Love Saves the Day. It was a fresh set compared to what he's been doing recently. So, he's playing IICON this year, as well as playing as Morning Side at the Stonebridge Bar (as I'm sure he will several other sets). It's going to be interesting seeing how he tailors each set to each stage. I assume Morning Side will pull pretty heavily from New Energy, which is exciting.
  23. TLDP's single is fantastic. I don't care about 'industry plant/ press darling' accusations. Some o the acts that have performed classic sets were fueled and hyped by the media. It will be a shame to miss Four Tet/ Morning Side so I'll have a tough decision there.
  24. Tbh the new setlist and energy that it looks like they have has convinced me to see them again this year. Friday night is a bit thin on the ground for me aside from Fever Ray who won't bring the party and Carl Cox who I'm sure I can ssee again.
  25. Get a mezze from the Park, a massive scran and I'm 99% sure you can get a vegan one.
