Apologies if this is a pre-existing thread, but I couldn't find a recent one. Because there's been a bit of negativity surrounding the line-up I thought this would be a nice thread. Loose rules: one track per user per day. I'll start us off: My Summer anthem last year and it's gone a bit underrated I feel. Everyone bigs up their collaboration with DJ Seinfeld (Now U Do) but this track has a 90s vibe which I really enjoy.

Two Door Cinema Club are massive among young people. Late 00s/ early 10s indie bands have had a TikTok resurgence. There's a reason R+L have booked them and Catfish and the Bottlemen. I work in a secondary school and I hear a lot of love for those kinds of acts which did surprise me. Plus, there's Burna Boy, SZA, The Last Dinner Party, Confidence Man, Anne-Marie, Declan McKenna, Yard Act, D-Block Europe, Ghetts, Peggy Gou, Fontaines D.C., Kenya Grace, Headie One and Little Simz who are all big with younger punters.

Dunno why people want Eminem to turn up to mime for an hour. Let alone the fact he asks for silly money anyway.

Why does it have to take place on worthy Farm? Imagine how many more hotel options there would be if it was held at Wembley?

Maybe they could put down a giant picnic blanket across each of the stages and have the volunteers go round with a refreshment trolley? Although I wouldn't be too happy with people stepping on my blanket. Who do they think they are? Don't they know how important the sides of my picnic blanket are? They probably want to dance and ruin the subdued vibe.

I love the festival most the time, but I can't help but wish Car Henge was bigger.

See you there mate, Love What Survives is one of the best albums of the 2010s. Bringing out King Krule and James Blake for it is gonna be special af.

Honestly I'm just annoyed there's so much pointless stuff that does nothing to draw in the BBC audience. No-one's tuning in for Shangri-La, or the Healing Fields so why not sack it off?

There's a bunch of artists I love like Mount Kimbie and Alvvays that I've never seen live. I wouldn't say they're exciting bookings but I'm glad they're there.

Some of the best stuff I saw last year (Erika De Casier, Four Tet) wasn't on the main poster so I'll probably be grand.

It requires people to not treat the largest music festival in Europe like they're having a comfy BBQ in their back garden which seems to be a bit too difficult for some unfortunately.

Feel lumping James Blake in that crowd is a little harsh. He's become a really successful producer and writer on some of the most popular artists in the world (Beyonce, Kendrick, Travis Scott) but I agree there's a lot of stale bookings on there.

Also, everything a musician ever sings about can never be in character. We need to get back to nice young lads like Travis. Thank God Coldplay are headlining!

The good old days

A bit of rain? Fine. Sunny and breezy? Perfect. Last year was too much on the sunny side for me. Relentless heat and no shade made me knackered all the time. 2016 was a compelte mudbath and it made getting around the site or even having a sit down a hard task.

Just like most the stuff in that rag it's meaningless clickbait shite. I ran the heading/ subheading into an AI and it wrote basically the same thing: Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA are primed to headline Glastonbury's iconic Pyramid Stage this year. But beneath the excitement, a question lingers: has Glastonbury lost its magic for today's pop stars? Is headlining the festival just another tick on their world tour checklists, or is the fire of creating a unique Glastonbury experience still burning? Coldplay's record-breaking fifth Pyramid Stage stint is a case in point. While undeniably successful, their ubiquity breeds a sense of predictability. Their live shows, while polished, lack the edge and innovation Glastonbury thrives on. One can't help but wonder if their selection is a safe bet for high ratings, rather than a daring artistic choice. Similar concerns surround Dua Lipa. A talented pop star, Lipa struggles to translate her studio sheen into a captivating live act. Glastonbury demands an electrifying performance, a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle - will she deliver, or simply offer a greatest hits set seen across the globe? SZA stands as a beacon of hope. An artist known for her enigmatic persona and powerful vocals, she has the potential to craft a truly special Glastonbury moment. However, the pressure is immense. Will she embrace the festival's spirit of risk-taking, or succumb to the pressure of replicating a familiar set? Glastonbury's magic lies in the unexpected. It's about legendary acts like Stormzy igniting the crowd, iconic collaborations like Sir Paul McCartney jamming with rock royalty, or Beyonce's show-stopping tribute to Prince. When headliners treat it as just another gig, the festival loses a bit of its soul. Here's to hoping this year's crop of headliners rise to the occasion. Let's see them embrace the spirit of Glastonbury, craft unforgettable sets, and remind us why that Pyramid Stage performance remains a coveted prize, not just another tour stop.

I was at Example last year (I know, I know) and there are three things that strike me about it: 1. we went to see Girls Don't Sync Before and it was fairly busy, but not rammed - people then tried to show up ten minutes early for Example which led to a lot of problems 2. Inside the tent itself it was busy but at no point felt dangerously over-crowded. We had plenty of space to dance, so as others have said crowd crust was a big thing. As we were leaving, we saw a massive crowd and were kind of confused at where these people had been. 3. Sometimes Emily and co. are a bit behind the times with what's become nostalgic/ what will bring a big crowd. The biggest complaint you could make about this year is that it all feels a bit 6music. I don't think they understand acts like Example are a bit of cheesy nostalgia for people around my age, and that often does really well at the festival. As much whinging as he did on the day he was right - he should have been on a bigger stage. See also - Chase & Status being f**king massive. I witnessed this as well when I saw Katy B at Love Saves the Day - a massive crowd with people talking about her as if she was some classic artist.

It's easier to encounter people who don't like the line-up than those that are happy with it. Some people unhappy want electronic music for three days straight, others are your 'real music' bucket-hat Courteeners brigade who don't want anything with a guitar. Some people wouldn't be happy unless Taylor Swift was booked.

Absolutely buzzing after this line-up poster. Alvvays, Jamie XX, Confidence Man, LCD Soundsystem, Burna Boy, Jessie Ware, Justice, Skream, Little Simz.

Me (and my group) weren't impressed with last year's poster but this one is great.
