  1. What an absolute clusterfuck.
  2. No. The UK is 3% black, even if you include all minorities its 13% non white, of course Glastonbury is going to look very white. Then factor in it takes place on a farm in rural Somerset and it’s hardly a surprise it’s mostly white. People who live in big cities with large minority populations have their view of the diversity of the UK heavily skewed by what they see around them on a daily basis.
  3. All cars are exempt, ‘posh’ or not.
  4. Considering she needed help to walk on to the stage I’m not surprised she was lip syncing. Actually I think she was doing the usual thing of singing to a backing track of her singing, recorded Ross fills in for live Ross when required. Pretty standard stuff for some acts. Especially those who like to move more than sing. You can’t dance and sing at the same time. You either dance to a backing track and lip sync or sing and stand still. Or do what Beyoncé did and just get your backing singers to sing the songs whilst you prance around and occasionally yell ‘hello Glaston-berry’🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  5. I’ll take the weather from the BBC weather app all day long, no rain after the evening of the previous Saturday, 18* sunny intervals, no rain. Ok so would prefer a few degrees warmer, but the no rain bit is the important part.
  6. Getting excited now, leave for the UK on Friday.
  7. At my parents house in the midlands getting the Motorhome ready and doing a big shop ready to head down early Tuesday
  8. 21/22, passing cloud to give some respite from the sun, no rain. anything above 26/27 is a nightmare if you are doing anything other than sitting in the shade with a beer. The Tuesday in 2017 was not fun, even hotter than the Wednesday, thank god it eased off for the rest of the festival.

    Take

Those small packets of tissues are a great substitute for toilet roll, they even come in waterproof packaging
  10. Quiet = closer to the gate for no apparent reason.
  11. My ticket address is a different country to my driving license address, wouldn’t worry about them not matching.

    Glastocam!

Wonder what their thoughts are about a festival on a dairy farm, not exactly known for their green credentials, I know ER are more about the big picture, but as the saying goes, every little helps.
  13. Mid way through season 3 of Ozark, season 1-2 were really good, season 3 has taken a serious nose dive, may not bother anymore.
  14. You can buy them on arrival if needed.
  15. The water carriers I have were from a camping shop, but you may be able to get something from a supermarket ( a big one) I fill up at home with a hose and then top up 20l at a time every so often. 2 x 10L is better than 1 x 20L as it’s easier to carry and lift. Oh and if you see a bridge with no height marker then it’s at least 16 foot 6 or 5 metres high.
  16. 1. It all depends what fields they decide to fill up, it seems a bit random, 2017 we arrived quite early on the Tuesday and ended up in e17. 2. If you aren’t going anywhere other than Glastonbury in the MH then apple or Google maps will be fine. When you get the van make sure you ask how tall it is, then you can keep an eye out for low bridges and petrol station canopies. From Heathrow/Redhill to Glastonbury and back will all be major roads so no low bridges to worry about, in a MH anyway.( make sure you know the height in metric and imperial, bridges will be marked in imperial and petrol station canopies in metric) 3. ask the rental firm to fill the water tank for you. I use 2 10 litre water bottles to fill my onboard tank, light enough to carry easily, but between them 1 trip fills 1/5 of my onboard tank. In a rental I’d recommend a separate bottle for drinking water, use the onboard tank for washing, washing up and cooking. 4. some motorway services, petrol stations have water available. 5. yes, but park at the far end of the car park where you will have more room, keep an eye out for height restrictions going into car parks. 6. theres a Morrisons supermarket at Wincanton just off the A303 not far before the festival. make sure the rental firm shows you how everything works and provides you with enough LPG for a week, your fridge will run on this. Make sure you know which is the fuel filler and which is the water filler, don’t mix them up. ( it happens) any issues with how things work when at the festival just ask your neighbour, everyone will be happy to help.

    Mobility Problem

To be fair I'm guessing a muddy festival is child’s play compared to everything else he has been through both before and after he lost his leg. I know a guy with severe mobility issues after being shot in the back during a live firing exercise in Canada, he is the most positive guy I know, he says he is just glad to be alive, it was very touch and go for him and he has been through a lot of shit, now he can just get on with his life.
  18. I’m a boots person, hate wellies, but they have advantages over boots, just bought some sealskinz waterproof socks that hopefully won’t get used.
  19. I’ve not knowingly had it either, my wife had what a few years ago would have been assumed to be the Flu, achy, fatigue, feeling generally rough as a bag of rocks, hearing issues, took her about 3 weeks to get over it, tested negative repeatedly, now I normally get every cold my wife has, I didn’t get a single sniffle, nothing, I wonder if I have had covid but I’m completely asymptomatic, I’ve had it but had no symptoms at all🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I’ve not even had a cold for 2 1/2 years
  20. don’t waste money on ‘special’ camping toilet paper, cheap and cheerful supermarket paper will break down just fine as long as you use the correct toilet chemicals, no nastiness with number 2’s either.
  21. Never been searched going through gate C, I obviously have an honest face.
  22. Attach your towing eye before getting to the festival for no particular reason because obviously it will be gloriously dry. ( at very least make sure it’s to hand)
  23. Packed everything I could possible need for Glastonbury away in boxes ready for our house move. Made sure I put a big G on all boxes I will definitely need to unpack first.
  24. Yeah Aerosmith never got replaced, they would have filled that slot nicely.
