  1. Whilst I’d never hate on Glastonbury and it’s one of the few festivals that is more than just its music, there’s always plenty to do and see that poster massively eases the pain of not having tickets. For me it’s utterly Meh🤷‍♂️ if it’s a good poster for others then I’m happy for you.
  2. All the festivals have strict rules and every year at various festivals you see stuff that blatantly breaks all the rules, from vans with mattresses in the back to cars with a tipi next to them🤷‍♂️ I wouldn’t sweat it.
  3. Saw The Darkness last weekend, they were pretty damn good.
  4. Mark Knopfler would be fantastic in the legend slot, but not this year, I didn’t get tickets.😁😁
  5. Saw The Darkness last weekend and Justin mentioned peoples phones a few times, even at one point demanding people put them away and leading the crowd in a chant of ‘put your f**king phones away’. All lighthearted but he’s right, put your phones away.
  6. Just chat to the marshal parking you, they will normally ask you if you have an awning and which side if it’s not obvious. We will have to butter up the Marshall as we have a 270* awing which is on the side and rear of our vehicle, our door is on the rear as well so I want to make sure the rear is facing the fire lane so we don’t have someone else right up our arse( oo er missus)
  7. Gender of headliners is still just as irrelevant as it has always been, only matters to tokenist box tickers
  8. My wife and I decided not to bother on t day and go on holiday instead, just didn’t feel it, a hangover from waiting 2 1/2 years for the 2020 erm 2021 no 2022 festival. apart from Reg there’s little in the lineup to make us regret our decision, especially with what we are doing instead. just need a break from the pressure and hassle of the whole thing, especially t day. will probably try for next year. I would never and could never not go having secured tickets though, far too hard fought for to do that.
  9. Booked a holiday that clashes with Glastonbury, I may regret doing so but having waited 2 1/2 years for this years festival I’m not that fussed about going next year, just finding it hard to get enthusiastic about it already. Been to 3 of the last 4 so it’s time to do something else.
  10. Perfectly reasonable? On what planet?
  11. Inflation, normal running costs, recouping costs from 2 cancelled festivals. Protecting the money they give to charities.
  12. We aren’t going next year, already booked something else for next year that clashes with Glastonbury but if not for that we would still try for tickets. It’s a big jump over 2019 prices but probably about where it would be with normal yearly increases plus a bit, I guess, for extra costs like cancellation insurance. the only way tickets will ever not go up is if the festival gives less to the various charities, which is never going to happen and nor should it. At least the increases aren’t there to protect their own profits.
  13. Saw Richard Bacon on Sunday, sat on the floor with I assume his kids having some food and talking very loudly on the phone to someone called Robbie who was pitching a tv show to him, after his ‘old and white’ comments about Glastonbury I did consider asking what other completely irrelevant comments he had to make about Latitude, but thought better of it. stood next to a guy in the Crèche for the Manics who was the absolute spit of Eric Stoltz, the guy who was Marty Mcfly before Michael J Fox, but can’t for the life of me think why he would be there so I’m assuming it wasn’t actually him. if there was a thread for spotting people who looked incredibly like a famous person but almost definitely weren’t them I’d have hundreds.
  14. Did you opt for print at home tickets? Was it just your campervan ticket that arrived by post? If they are sending them by post that would have been good to know at time of purchase as I’ve no idea where they will send mine as I didn’t give them an address and my billing address is different to my postal address🙄🙄 ticketmaster are useless.
  15. Veganism seems to be like a religion to some, and like most religious people they find it impossible to keep their views to themselves. They, for some reason, feel the need to try to ‘convert’ 🙄🙄 everyone they meet( so tempted to do a pun here). So it’s a little surprising how easy they put their beliefs aside for the sake of a piss up in a field, hey ho. As for the environmental side of veganism it’s vastly over stated, yes anyone with eyes can see we eat far too much meat, and the intensive farming that is needed to fulfil that need is a disaster in the making. However if humans went vegan that would also be an environmental disaster, first off the sheer numbers of animals that would be slaughtered would be astronomical, surely no vegan wants that, plus where do people think all the food will be grown, we certainly won’t be putting land back to rainforest that’s for sure, then there’s the impact on us as a species, there’s a reason we are the most intelligent and powerful creature on the planet, our diet, which created our large brains, we are omnivores, you only have to look at your own teeth to see we have evolved to eat meat, we also don’t have the stomachs or bacteria to digest plant matter and we are intelligent because of the meat we eat. Almost every intelligent animal on the planet eats meat, that’s no coincidence. I wonder how vegans view other animals that eat meat? Or is is just humnans they despise?
  16. Have you heard of a thing called a direct debit? People spread the cost of all sorts of things, why would a festival be any different.
  17. The difference is you set up a direct debit and it just comes out of your account, no need to remember to save, no massive lump sum to find in one go, not a hard concept to grasp surely?
  18. pretty much every festival in the UK offers a payment plan, people who don’t like this for Glastonbury are a strange bunch, can’t for the life of me think why some people wanting to spread the cost is so egregious a notion to people on here. Just a symptom of the sense of entitlement some people on here have towards the festival.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  19. No Lindsey Buckingham no fleetwood Mac as far as I’m concerned. Saw them in 2015 at IOW and they were epic, a proportion of the songs lose their bite without Buckingham either dishing them out or being on the receiving end.
  20. Drugs are also ‘banned’, doesn’t seem to stop people taking them though. Might be a few people on here upset with increased searches for flares uncovering other items.
  21. Smeble

    Gate C

Haven’t got the faintest idea, it was whoever was running the gate who were crap.
  22. Smeble

    Gate C

Nope it was a clusterfuck, too many stewards standing around doing nothing, or even worse trying to tell people who have just been queuing for an hour to cheer up, whilst stood around doing nothing, it’s one of the downsides to using untrained people for that sort of thing, when things go wrong they have no idea how to sort it. There didn’t actually seem to be anyone in charge. the re entry procedure isn’t fit for purpose and takes too long, it either needs to be changed or the number of lanes increased.
  23. Smeble

    Gate C

Gate c should be renamed gate clusterfuck, utter shambles Friday and Sunday, Sunday busiest day of the festival and they had no queuing system running at all. the gate needs a rethink, needs to be widened and capacity increased.
  24. Paul and Jacqui were fantastic as usual, atmosphere was stellar.
