  1. Yep also liking Chvrches any band that chooses to have Lizzo support them clearly have great taste. (I suspect she won't be supporting them on their next tour!!)
  2. Cheers had missed that and I am really liking it. She Drew The Gun and Self Esteem doing wonderful important work at the moment but wonderful important work that I can dance to which is very good!
  3. Yes I'd like to think this will get laughed out of court. He's tried to cash in on it at every opportunity. His parents allowed it to happen and took the money for it. If he wants to have a go at anyone it should be them. At the time there was no way to know that it would be such an iconic piece of art but if he didn't like it he could never mention it and it's not like anyone would have any idea it was him.

    First Gig Back

Sleeper were on at 19:30 and The Bluetones were 21:30. If you look at their twitter during the day they usually advise.
  5. Seems a bit weird that legislation called Look Back is what brought these allegations to light and a tour called Don't Look Back could be what ends them.
  6. Seen a lot of things on Twitter saying that he was on a different continent when this allegedly happened.
  7. A man after my own heart. I often look at my wish list and wonder how on earth some of the books have ended up on it. Usually seen them recommended somewhere. Enjoy them!

    First Gig Back

@PadjeqSleeper and The Bluetones last night was really good. We had Sleeper first and The Bluetones as headliners which was my preference as I know The Bluetones much more but I understand they have been swapping that about as they are co-headliners. Both really good. I think Mark Morriss is better at interacting with the crowd but I guess being friends with lots of comedians helps you develop a witty repartee. Very enjoyable and actually met up with some friends at the gig last night and it felt so normal that it was great. One thing to be aware of you did have to show evidence of being double jabbed or a negative test and it did make the queue to get in a bit longer than normal. We were advised to get the app up and take a screenshot on your phone to make it a bit quicker. I suspect by September this will be a normal part of getting into gigs so worth being aware of it and being prepared. Next up for me is Showhawk Duo which will give me major Glastonbury vibes.

    First Gig Back

I've got that one tonight so I'll report back.
  10. I'm planning on binging Ghosts at the weekend. I've not really been watching any tv other than Only Connect once a week and I only watch that to remind myself how much stuff I don't know 😄

    First Gig Back

No The Lovely Eggs at Gorrilla a couple of weeks back was the first. A great first one.

    First Gig Back

I'm at that one too but tomorrow I have Sleeper and The Bluetones first.
  13. Sunday gigs are only worsted (if that's a word) by Monday gigs but yes it's not one to miss. Worth being tired for a week of work for!
  14. Can't wait for her album release or the gig in December.
  15. I suspect it will be April which is the only lifeboat I am clinging to. A lot of people prefer a bit more notice for something like a festival especially if they are newbies and have to buy a lot of stuff from scratch.
  16. I don't think Elton will change things as anyone who is a huge Elton fan has a chance to see him on his own tour anyway. I do think it's going to be tricky. There will be a higher than average amount of returns but to counteract that I do expect to see record numbers trying for them. People have missed out on a lot and it will kick start a lot of bucket listers etc. I'm still buying the lottery tickets to give me my chance of getting a Pilton pad as well and as much as I am thinking positive I know if I manage to get there it will be a stroke of incredible luck. The kind I haven't been having recently (so to stay optimistic perhaps I am due some!)
  17. Interesting this question comes up a lot on book groups and I'd have to say I would count it. I have personally never listened to an audio book I suffer a lot from lack of attention and switching off so not sure they would work for me but if I listened to a book and heard the whole story I wouldn't feel inclined to pick up the book and read it as well. That's my take anyway for what it's worth. If you listen to a lot of audiobooks and have opinions on whether they are good or bad I'd be happy to hear them.
  18. Life's too short for things you don't enjoy.
  19. It's actually not bad. If I'd had a top 5 it might have made it in.
  20. That's on my wish list. I have a very large wish list when it comes to books!
  21. If you hit the big time it'll be worth it. Honestly work has been so relentlessly shit for the past few weeks that dreams of winning the lottery have been sustaining me.
  22. Really hard for me to judge this month as my music listening has been a bit all over the place. I've either been on holiday and not really been listening or at work and crazy busy because if you dare to have time off you end up working it before and after so some of these may change. I know I found a lot of June records this month that if I had my time over I'd probably vote for. Clear winner Dave - We're all alone in this together Laura Mvula - Pink Noise Bobby Gillespie and Jehnny Beth - Utopian Ashes (this one was unexpectedly good for me nothing like what I would have imagined a project with these two would sound like) Another few listens and Lump might be ahead of these but just not had the time to listen properly yet.
