Going off topic, but having not travelled to Glasto via coach before, was wondering what the situations like with luggage? I assume it will be put in the storage below, however is it okay to bring a trolley for alcohol, other camping gear etc?

My understanding is that you'll be at the mercy of your individual coach but be aware of how many people are on there and how much luggage everyone will have. If you know anyone else going by car who has spare space it might be easier to see if they can bring alcohol for you and arrange to do a car run at some point with them.

Yes, but I’ve seen her a couple of times last year so I’ll give it a miss, but have at last been listening to her second album. I chatted to her at our local festival in Bury last September. As it stands, my favourite female album of the year so far is Waxahatchee’s Tigers Blood.

Tigers Blood is a great album.

Another solid line up.  Lots that I wouldn't mind seeing but I don't think there's anything unmissable, which is just the way I like it - I'm happy to see The Feeling, Frank Turner, Haircut 100, Lucy Spraggan, Lulu, Shaznay Lewis, Cat Empire,  and also Barstewards, BC Camplight, Cut Capers, New Model Army but most of those later ones are at Bearded so will probably see them there.  So actually, I know that if I'm stuck for anything else, I can just wander over to Avalon and will probably catch something I like!

If you haven't see Old Time Sailors, do try to - they are so much fun!

Yes some slightly different acts for me but yep nothing unmissable but plenty to keep me occupied.

Wow, that’s ever so slightly similar!!

Starman was nicked from Somewhere Over The Rainbow. One of Tin Machine’s songs was an exact rip off of Wild Thing.  Bowie was no angel.

Every artist is a thief is I believe the phrase.

Tbf I had a whale of a time with my kids around lunchtime at victorious one year having a little dance to Annie.

However I would imagine that the money on infrastructure, staffing to make sure with aligns with the increase in cost of living, catering, insurances, energy etc is probably substantially more all round. Little increases will add up fast and while they probably want to keep it fair, to ensure that some money goes to charitable causes still, they’ve had to pass costs on via tickets.

There was a lot of chat a while back about smaller acts not being able to afford to do gigs and tours because their costs were literally obliterated by logistics, hotels, staff, kit etc. sad times.

Yes gig prices have gone insane in the last year. Pretty much all arena level shows seem to be starting at least around £65 when it used to be around £40. Some are starting at nearly £100. It’s certainly going up even higher than inflation.

I’ve set myself a £35 limit unless it’s something really special and there are lots of venues I no longer even check out.

It actually doesn’t… Putting OCS up against SZA almost guarantees a crush at the acoustic of the 40+ crowd.

A chunk of them will be at The National as well.

The mighty Bob Vylan just confirmed to me at a signing that they’re doing two sets. Didn’t get the stages, but hopefully 02:30 Truth Stage again please and thank you (though better not be just a 20 minute set this time!).

Great news! 2 slots hopefully means a main stage set as well.

I love it, just so happens I’m playing it now, have revisited Saint Cloud too. Really frustrated I can’t see her later in the year on tour.

I’m already enthused with several albums this year: Brittany Howard, MGMT, Julia Holter, Lee Scratch Perry, and have high hopes for Vampire Weekend which I’ve yet to play. Black Keys is decent too.

Vampire Weekend is lovely if you like Vampire Weekend. Could do with some sunny days for it to hit right.

I'm enjoying Bob Vylan as well again nothing massively different from them but a decent album nonetheless.

@Avalon_FieldsHave you listened to Katherine Priddy's new one seem to recall you were a fan - been out about a month now so not exactly brand new.

Yes just being cheeky to see if we can get the other names we don' know 😄

You know what they say if you don't ask you don't get.

  10. I think I'd try and do all my favourite things that I already know I love and I might try and do things that I have always promised I would do but have still never gotten around to like making something in the craft fields so I have a handmade memory to take with me.

If you want to maybe try and find some of the participation things to do like that big slide by the Greenpeace stage, some of the things they do in the Theatre and Circus fields like the zorbing, light up hula hooping at night.

Honestly though I'd just try and soak up every moment of it and make sure you have a lot of fun to look back on.

BC Camplight, who has self-confirmed recently at gigs, has tweeted "exciting news" regarding festival announcement in the next week or so.  Can't remember if we know where he is playing?  If we do, it's an indication a drop for that area is imminent.

Avalon I believe in which case yes!!!! I love the Avalon Stage announcement. It always has very random stuff things I love and hate in equal measure.

You're both miles out ahead of me...

I think this is 33lb lost, or 15kg so far, In 126 days.

For anybody that remembers my original goal... I got on Nemesis Reborn on opening day, and was able to close my own restraint unaided... So happy to report that I achieved my original goal in that sense, even if I was a few lb short of the target weight.

Now just to lose as much as possible before Glastonbury, whilst stepping up the fitness. I'm going to have to politely request that this endless rain f*cks off now, so that I can get some wild camping trips done!

The numbers mean nothing at the end of the day it's the health and fitness that is most important and if you achieved the goal who cares about the number. 1 lb of fat and 1lb of muscle look totally different and occupy completely different amounts of space.

I definitely second your appeal for the rain to go away as my main/only exercise is walking I have made so many sacrifices to the rain gods this year.

We call it the slope of mild inconvenience with that effort you can call it a mild undulation.
