Let's hope that place is Somerset in late June

    NFR NFC 24

I have made so many sacrifices to the weather gods since last Glastonbury that we should be guaranteed NFR NFC
  3. After the festival lat year I got a West Holts hoodie. It was the stage I probably spent most time at. Have done the same for Park and Avalon in years gone by. There'll be lots of options to buy the Chilly's bottle onsite.
  4. So you can separate the actions of a government and hold extremely nuanced and complex views on a difficult subject but it seems that you don't think others can. I don't think anyone in this thread has voiced any antisemitic views but it feels like support for Palestinian people alone can be interpreted that way to some people. Most of us would just not like our governments to support a very right wing government killing lots of innocent people indiscriminately. That would be a start for me. The fight for social justice is an ongoing one. If the people of Palestine end up in another religious state that denies them freedoms that I believe people should be entitled to then I'll fight for that next.
  5. In the same way that lots of Irish nationalists didn't want British army living in their country but not all of them are terrorists who wanted to kill them. I think what I am trying to say is that people can have very complex and nuanced views on things. You can object to people being given land and people being displaced by the giving of that land without even blaming those who eventually ended up being recipients of the land.
  6. That was the only difference this year. The first poster dropped earlier than normal but usually we have known (officially) a headliner of 2 or a legend slot prior to the poster dropping.
  7. The only time I have been ticketless since I started going I still watched all the footage I could. I don't understand being able to pretend it's not happening and whilst it's obviously not exactly the same I still enjoyed watching the sets I did. Then again when I come home from Glastonbury I watch all the footage usually starting with the things I didn't get to watch.
  8. You can be opposed to a religious state country without wanting all people of that religion to die. I mean I wish religion didn't exist at all but still don't think anyone should be killed for their religion so it's possible to believe things that may seem fundamentally opposed.
  9. It could just be that when people don't agree with his views he tells them to f**k off. Theatre and Circus fields are the most family area of the festival. They possibly don't want acts who could cause trouble especially as in this day and age if he seems to be a target who can be wound up to cause a controversy someone would undoubtedly try and do that.
  10. They have actually been very specific to not say it's going to Palestine. There are lots of conflicts happening in the world today as my Ukrainian colleagues could tell you but yes it seems to me that it might not be his views but more his manner in putting across his views.
  11. I'm not sure why you seem to be targeting my replies, firstly look at my replies and all I have said is other artists who have voiced pro-Palestinian views are on the bill. I haven't actually mentioned my own views on the topic at all. If you are interested in my view, my view is that governments of countries should be seen to take a stance against terrorism but that it should be proportionate. The government of Israel have lost all legitimacy in my eyes for behaving in an appalling manner which has been completely disproportionate and has only put their own hostages in further danger. I believe this is exactly how many Jewish people in Israel also feel. I don't blame Jewish people for this I blame a horrendous right wing government. I was brought up as catholic in the Republic of Ireland and moved to Manchester the year after the IRA bombed it. I am more than aware of how it feels to feel targeted and to be on the receiving end of abuse for something that you don't condone or agree with. My only must see of the entire festival so far is a Jewish artist. I don't hold her responsible for the actions of the Israeli government.
  12. From his statement he has said he didn’t know they were Jewish. If he didn’t I don’t know how it could be antisemitism. I don’t know him and wasn’t there so obviously can’t argue his point but if he is just a confrontational comedian who argued with them because they didn’t participate in part of his routine I’m not sure he is. His act doesn’t sound brilliant to me and as I said it feels like there must be something more to it because other artists who have a very pro-Palestinian stance are on the bill.
  13. Exactly he has tagged a number of acts who have been very vocal in their pro-Palestine support and yet are still on the bill so it does suggest there is something else also at play here.
  14. My understanding is that you'll be at the mercy of your individual coach but be aware of how many people are on there and how much luggage everyone will have. If you know anyone else going by car who has spare space it might be easier to see if they can bring alcohol for you and arrange to do a car run at some point with them.
