  1. Out of votes but "going from Rage to The 1975 feels like going from Bielsa to Jesse Marsch" is my absolute favourite line of the day 🤣🤣🤣 If I have the time I might just write that on a plain white tee in a marker and rock it for the Sunday at Leeds.
  2. In your Barney the Dinosaur costume I hope?
  3. I kneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew it! 😜 And look how those years panned out, they were right 😝 My two replies above are jokes and this may read as flippant but I genuinely feel bad for you. Amazing dedication for the Rage cause and you've just had a huge slap in the face. I saw the band at First Direct just before lockdown and got told off by said teenage girls because apparently they could feel my breath (in a none creepy way 🤣) as I stood behind them enjoying the show. It was at that point that I started to think maybe I'm too old for some gigs 😔
  4. Gutted that rules The 1975 out of next year.
  5. Humble brag there just dropped in 🤣 I personally was in the east wing of my house checking my Monet had been rehung after I lent it to the British Museum.
  6. Yeah all you people suggesting moving BMTH can get tae f*ck 😜.
  7. Metallica aren’t in Europe let alone the UK so you can take them out.
  8. I’ll be gutted if 1975 are the replacement as thought that would be the day ticket I would go for next year which is when I thought they’d play if they weren’t at Glasto.
  9. My missus went to see Josh Widdecomb early in the day at Leeds the year Foo's played while I saw someone else in a tent and she said it was rammo with people spilling waaaaaaaaaaay out who wanted to hear which I was very surprised by. I think that was around 2pm.
  10. All these fan made pics of the prospective line ups look great but I really hope Pantera aren’t going to be booked. I’m of the age that I experienced them the first time around and I loved them but I don’t want to see them now without the Abbott bros and now we know what a racist pr*ck Phil is. Yes there’s an argument to be made about the art versus the artist and separation but not in a live setting in my view, I don’t want to see that pr*ck get the adoration of x amount of thousands going apesh*t for the music.
  11. I might be wrong/confused but I think he said that would be stateside shows as they’d already done OoS in full at R+L before. That gig was magical at SBE though. My missus had dumped me literally that morning and I was bummed out and went along and to see them drop ‘Easily’ and ‘Glorious’ soon got me out of my funk lol.
  12. I was at that gig, absolutely immense!!! Lost my sh*r when they played ‘Easily’. I’d love to see them back but I just don’t think next year will be the one, far more likely for R+L. There’s a part of me wondering if they will show up there for a secret set this year considering the album is released that weekend but it’s just wishful thinking.
  13. If I go back for the first time in years I’d like them to be there. I was put off by the imagery thinking they’d be cheesy but after listening to them more I’m a fan. Been listening/watching old Slipknot sets from years gone by at Download and I really hope they are the fourth headliner now. I’m still a bit put off by the price but think that’s just coz I’m an old b*stard and remember a time when it cost half of what next year will be but I’m thinking now if the headliners are what we’ve been talking about then I will go.
  14. Sign me up for any NIN appearance.
  15. Bro, I'm as horrified as you. He's one of those people who think Download book great acts year on year, that music died at the end of the '80's and that Iron Maiden are more influential than The Beatles. He also plays Leeds United and only Leeds United on Football Manager each and every year for the past 20 years. He's such a boring b*stard. But he's my boring b*stard lol.
  16. I don't think I'd be all that mad at that though you know...although I wouldn't be attending 🤣
  17. I'll take it. I wouldn't go see Ted or Def but ma double denim pal will be all over it so it will balance out in terms of us both wanting to by tickets. Never done it before even at the height of their success so I don't see them choosing to do it now, if they are doing their own one off show it's far more likely to be a London based stadium show.
  18. I'm gunnae be pure raging if the 2x Metallica + BMTH doesn't happen now. Hell, I'll be happy enough with 1 Metallica night as long as BMTH and Architects play.
  19. Bore off. Well if it is Metallica/BMTH/Metallica and then Def Leppard I can either leave (which is unlikely as I’ll be going with a pal who believes music died in 1989) or I can go sleep early Sunday so I can prepare myself for the slog on Monday morning to take all the gear back to the car. This is off course unless there is someone of interest elsewhere.
  20. Growing up as a metal fan the philosophy to me was always not giving a **** and doing what you want yet that philosophy these days seems to be more at home in the pop world rather than metal.
  21. The logic in this thread baffles me, probs why I’ve not been to the fest in many a years with all the bull**** inherent rules attached to the logic in here.
  22. But they headlined previously in 2017 or something, after Sonisphere had died. This was returning headline set.
  23. Ah ok clued in now. I find that so strange though considering their history at the festival, they’ve worked their way up that bill over the years and a returning headliner so I thought they would have the respect of the attendees.
