  1. I didn't even go to Boomtown, but saw some of the reactions to the lineup and was like 'wtf'? The whole point of Boomtown is supposed to be about the production and sound. Lineup is secondary and it was weird people were so assy about it... Personally think punters need to wind their necks in a bit at the moment, as there seems to be a lot of entitlement that has krept in. Most festivals nearly went broke over the last few years and as long as they can run a professional, well organised event this year - then thats a tick. SGP was a festival that was absolutely worthy of the hate this year though.
  2. I think its bonkers people kick off about this stuff given the circumstance, it just reaks of an entitlement that I'm fed up of these days... If you don't like it, don't fucking go.... It's a private event ffs.
  3. Its all well earned, I saw them live in Bristol and they bring it every time.
  4. Shocked by how much Con Man have exploded, they've had 5 shows sell out this morning in a few minutes. I was at a festival on the weekend and the camp site next to us was busting out their tunes on a speaker and they had only heard about them via the performance on iPlayer. I was at the Bristol show a few months ago and for memory that only sold out the day of the gig. Goes to show how much exposure Glastonbury gives you and they knocked the performance out of the park as well. They could do almost do an Other stage slot imo.
  5. I've been saying the vibe was shit as well, it felt like loads of people who didn't know what festivals were.... What were your thoughts?
  6. I wasn't 'lying' I had been given that information by someone who was doing bookings for the festival. I asked multiple members of staff over the weekend on site and they all believed the same to be true as well. To me it sounds like some of the people doing bookings had been given false information to hype the event up.
  7. I'm a pretty seasoned festival goer and I think the comments are all spot on and then some.
  8. I had elements of fun but for the most part I found it a total shit shot. Everything felt like an effort, there weren't enough food stalls on site and this created queues that were ridiculous. Then you get to the front to be told "it's cash only".... I also just felt like there was loads of aimless wandering as it just wasn't clear anywhere who was playing on which stage. Then you had the element of obscene amounts of rubbish literally everywhere. Walking through the He She They stage yesterday, there was rubbish literally everywhere and nos cannisters all over the place. The toilets have already been well mentioned so I won't go there. I went in 2014 and 2016, but won't be going back again. The festival has become too commercialised now and there's other festivals which do what SGP aims to do, a lot better. We left on Sunday afternoon, which I've not done at a festival for a long long time.
  9. Wow thats a very big lineup fora. Thursday night at SGP.
  10. Last time I was there they were kicking people out of the forrest in the morning, but again memory is super hazy.
  11. If anyone sees someone walking around with this at SGP, thats me btw. Come say hello 🙂
  12. It's definitely not all of them, only one for memory.
  13. Yeah I mean, the last time I went was in 2016 so it's all a bit hazey atm....
  14. For memory there was only one small 24 hour stage, all the other stages have a 4 am cut off.
  15. It's a 'legacy set' its not a full on typical set with the proper production.
  16. As I said Chemical brothers are 100% and ive heard it from multiple sources. I can find out the rest of the line up, but just gonna leave it for the surprise now.
  17. If its on the same site, which it is, I'm not sure how they can change it really...
  18. Managed to get tickets in 15 and 17, tried for tickets in 18/19 and then in the recent resale and havent had a look in - that was even with a group of us trying.
  19. No I've not worn a mask since last year and have been to several festivals now/leading a normal life. Been jabbed 3 times. I haven't thought about COVID since I had it late last year, but if I tested positive then no I would be avoiding people and not just pretending I didn't have it like some on here think is totally fine to do....
  20. It's also highlighted that our behaviour pre pandemic of 'going out or to work when ill' was probably pretty fucking stupid all along? Literally no clue why you think people should be out and about when ill, regardless of COVID.
  21. 180k deaths and plenty of people who have had long term health complications as a result of it, many of them previously healthy. I mean a colleague I am working with has had chronic fatigue since catching it in 2020. Life had / has to return to normal, but playing the whole 'lets only look at deaths and nothing else' is just nonsense. Don't try and bury something under the carpet because you think it suits your narrative.
  22. yeah I've been crossing roads for 34 years and cycling on them and never been hit or had an accident. I've had COVID twice since 2020.
  23. But what evidence do you have that it's a 'load of old bollocks'? Your just being illogical for the sake of it.
  24. Did you create an account to come onto this forum and spout crap? I had COVID at the end of last year and it's not a 'sniffle' - this constant downplaying is just as nonsensical as overplaying it. It's extremely dangerous for a lot of people and for most of us it will hit us reasonably hard. There are of course people who don't get it bad as well....
