  1. It's a shower at best. Possibly due to the amount of dust it could cause slippy mud but it will be short lived. No need to panic (yet)
  2. Latest run is in and it takes us to Friday. Tuesday is looking quite damp but starts to ease from midnight and is dry all of wednesday morning, much to the relief of the Tuesday queue Crew. Wednesday temps are 18c, If anything, ideal for carrying all of your gear in and the ground will be a lot more receptive for tent pegs. Thursday has light showers about. Temps say 21c so it should dry out relatively quickly Finally, Friday morning. Looks dry. Heavy rain out at sea that could cause a problem later in the day depending on where it goes. Overall, this is Fuzzy's dream and if the rest stayed dry, pretty much ideal if a touch on the cool side.
  3. A commendable effort. I told myself I wouldn't obsessively check the GFS runs until it covered the entire festival yet here I am, letting my productivity go to sh*t as I pour over charts that I know are unreliable this far out. Does break up the day though! What I found that helped massively was soaking my cap in water every time I walked past a water point. Kept my head cool and did a job in tricking the rest of my body in forgetting that I was melting. The heat does present it's own challenges but for the most part they can be mitigated as long as you're somewhat prepared. Make sure you always have a full water bottle. If you are drinking booze, make sure you're matching it 1:1 with water. Have a rehydration tablet in the day or at the very least, eat very salty things to keep your electrolytes right.
  4. In true Glastonbury style, it's a bit of a knife edge at the moment. Potentially got low pressure sweeping in from the friday of the fest but also have had forecasts of absolute scorchio scenes. Still far too early to say. Another week and we'll start to have a bit of a clearer picture.
  5. You're welcome. Wasn't going to stay up but once I saw how glorious it was, I had to post it.
  6. Latest run is in. And it's a beauty. It's maintaining the tradition of being stupidly warm on wednesdays And then Thursday comes along and shows you how its done Don't get carried away but it is glorious to see.
  7. The 12z has come in and it's an improvement on the last couple of runs with a bit of high pressure blocking off the lows and a lot of the rain that comes with it. There's a bit of rain showing for tuesday but appears to be light and should clear by the time the car parks open. Temps on the wednesday are looking warm and more importantly dry. Thursday is looking cooler but there's light rain about It's still better than what we had earlier and is encouraging that the high pressure from the continent is doing some work to block the lows coming in. If that high pressure continues to develop and grow, we should be grand. If not, the rest of the festival could be very unsettled if this run is anything to go by. It's still going to be at least a week before the runs start to be more accurate but for now the signs appear to be ok, even if it is a bit of a knife edge at the moment.

    agreed, it seemed very sincere

So either Dave is having a laugh doing a bit of trolling or it pretty much confirms FF for the slot

    Campsite Poll

Pretty much have always camped in one of the central camp sites or south west camps (Pennards, Paines, Park and South Park). Last year we got a space in Pennard as we arrived on the 6am Bath coach. We're driving this year so most likely going to aim to arrive for Midnight and join the queue as early as possible to grab a spot in pennard again. I've gotten too used to having a central camp site that isn't far from the areas I love. While it can be a bit louder and more cramped than camp sites further out, it's a small price to pay for a shorter walk to and from the festival proper each day.

"Throw those churnups wiiidddee, a TBA like this will see me right" please god no.
  12. all it takes is a cheeky finger to drastically change the direction of the festival. great minds and all that
  13. If it's just one tent you should be able to find a space in a fair amount of campsites though pennards and oxlyers might be a challenge!
  14. tbh by then the queues will have gone down and should be a breeze to walk in.
  15. Usual caveat of anything over 7 days has under 50% confidence. This run resembles the last one and continues the trend of the high pressure on the continent dissipating allowing the low pressure to gain control and bringing a lot of the wet stuff on the way. Short term it isn't too bad. A couple of showers but with how dry the ground is, it's nothing too concerning but things start to go quite wet from the saturday before the festival onwards. Obviously at this far out a lot will change and after the scorchio run of yesterday, I was expecting a downgrade in conditions so I'm not worried at the moment. It wouldn't be a rollercoaster without a few dips along the way!
  16. So that 00z run looked pretty terrible. Expected really given how great the previous one was. The 06z run will be done in an hour so will do a brief post once it's finished.
  17. Yeah I get a bit nervous when it's this good and remind myself that anything after 7 days has less than 50% confidence so I am expecting it to break down somewhat in the next few runs. Not getting excited yet. Still a looong way to go
  18. The only liquid that will be hitting the ground will be beer and sweat by the looks of it. Yup. Not counting my chickens at all - a lot can, and will change in the next couple of weeks but initial signs are looking very tasty
  19. Latest GFS run is in. If this holds, wednesday is going to be toasty That low pressure has the threat of rain but appears to be weakening in each run. It's all looking good at the moment. A little too good
  20. +1 for the collapsible bucket crew. Ain't nothing like starting the day clean
  21. I've done Gates D, A and B as a car arrival and would choose D every time. I can't remember if B was any quicker than the times I've gone to D but if you're camping on the west side of the site, it's a bit of a trek. Gate A is to be avoided at all costs if arriving by car. The coach queue joins it just before the wristbanding tent and that queue gets priority so expect to spend hours barely moving on wednesday morning. If you're arriving tuesday night / wednesday morning, I wouldn't think it'd matter too much as I'd imagine you'll be quite close to the front of the queue so it really comes down to which gate is closest to your intended camp location
  22. If they find it, more than likely yes. If it's a clearly prescribed medicine, you might be fine otherwise for your friends peace of mind, it may be worth looking into getting a plastic dropper bottle.
  23. Latest GFS run is out and it takes us to 6am Wednesday. And of course it's a knife edge. Looks like we're going to have a battle between the low pressure to the north and high pressure from the south. Once again, the runs show a little bit of rain over the next 2 weeks though nothing of concern. As long as that low pressure goes no further south, we should be golden.
  24. The only times I've been searched more than a squeeze and a quick peek of my rucksack is when I've re-entered with an EPO band. Unless you look extremely nervous, clearly under the influence, stink of weed or an arsehole, the security team just don't have the time to do proper searches on people and are more focused on keeping the queue moving.

    The churnups

She's played a blinder. I like to think that she's behind the ChurnUps twitter account and each day spins a twister spinner to decide what band she's going to tweet about. Unless the band directly say it's them, I can't see it being revealed until the day (or at least the start of the festival) so am gonna sit back and enjoy the speculation
