  1. Indeed. First year I walked past 3 times before plucking up the courage to wander in like a kid on his first day at school and feel awkward. 3 meets later and I ended up spending the rest of Wednesday with a group from the meet getting absolutely bladdered.
  2. Excellent. Gradually piecing Wednesday together. I blame whoever turned up to the meet with lemon sherbert vodka...
  3. In hindsight my suggestion that you, I believe my words were, "chin the c**t" to determine who had the best hat might not have been constructive. Also, who was it that was a bit wobbly with heights on the ribbon tower? Was that you @waltere?
  4. Ribbon Tower disco was one of my favourite things! Right up there with you meeting the other hat guy
  5. did we come up and harass you on Wednesday night? My memory's a little sketchy 😂
  6. Not a bad meal all weekend, got to be happy with that. Even when I just needed to get something solid in me on Friday morning I struck lucky with a burrito from the vegan taco place in Leftfield; that's normally the moment when you end up with something absolutely dreadful. Best for me was entirely down to being the right thing at the right time, the hash brown breakfast box from Tea & Toast in the Park. Proper chunky homemade hash browns with just the right amount of grease, beans that had been cooked down so they were nice and thick, and a good sprinkling of grated cheddar. Solid example of something really basic done really well. And obviously the Crumble Shack. Gooseberry crumble, toasted nut topping, custard. Amazing.
  7. I did not, saw them at Avalon. Didn't spend much time at Greenpeace this year, which is unusual!

    Grit in the eye

Lottery Winners, Letter To Myself on Avalon. Couldn't sing along properly. Lip wobbling all over the place.

    Guns n Roses

Just didn't click for me. Don't know why but it just didn't seem to hang together properly. Lasted an hour and wandered off to Cabaret.
  10. Was nice to (very briefly) meet you at last!
  11. +1 honourable to Young Fathers, forgot them! Not normally my thing but live they were amazing
  12. 1. Max Richter. Such a beautiful way to start the day. 2. Elton John. 'nuff said. 3. Ivo Graham. Got bored midway through GnR so pottered off to get some food and head to Cabaret. Half an hour of properly laughing my arse off. Honourable mentions to Slowdive, Teskey Brothers, Comet Is Coming, Gwenno and Wheel Of Four Tunes.
  13. The only pinch point for me was Ben Howard. Talking to our group and none of us had seen the Other opener get a crowd that big before; don't know what the driver was but it was definitely an anomaly. Otherwise, felt much better than last year. Didn't spend a lot of time in SE corner so can't speak to that, but everything else seemed ok. The usual occasional log jam where you get main thoroughfares crossing each other (back of the Other and Railway Line) but nothing worse than that. And they seemed to have a more reactive approach to traffic, putting in short-term one way systems when needed to avoid things going nuts.
  14. Aye, always a pleasure to catch up and meet some new people at last. Getting steadily pished over the course of the evening always helps of course!
  15. Guy I think taking his mate round on his first time. Passes Greenpeace, tells him "So that's the rave tree, it's quality. Gets lit up at night and they've got a DJ booth in there". Slight pause. "It's not a real tree though".
  16. Still my favourite, was chuckling for hours after you told me that one
  17. Carrying a bigger tent this year as I'm setting up and sharing with a mate who's getting in later, so normal packing has been updated. Worked out that by taking the straps off my golf bag I can fashion a carry harness for the tent that will sit below the base of my bergen, so can keep hands free and avoid having to lug the tent across site and ruining my hands. Packing pile just about sorted, need to finalise clothes today. Hadn't planned to do it but found the necessary ingredients knocking about in a cupboard, so lemon sherbert vodka has been created. Aiming to have all work done by lunch so the afternoon can be a relatively easy run in and just get handover notes done.
  18. Outstanding work as always. Looking forward to seeing you two lovelies tomorrow 😊

    'Healthy' food

Keep an eye out for these, think they have a couple of spots but usually one at Other stage. Absolutely banging, the salad they do in their falafel pitta is amazing
  20. It's a bit out of the way of everything, but I camped in Lime Kiln last year and there was loads of space there pretty much throughout the weekend. You might need to be prepared to sleep on a bit of a slope though
