  1. That early I don't know tbh. I've taken the NE coach from Victoria before at about 10am and they just had a single queue and a ton of buses, so it was more of a guideline than an exact science. Might be a bit more sensible early in the morning, but I'd certainly expect you'll be on a coach at about that time

    The Growler

Never tried or felt the need to tbh. Always looked like shite, just lots of it.
  3. Lots of useful stuff in here from previous ongoing discussions, although obviously no harm in sharing new things or even re-stating old things again in this new thread 🙂 And yep, I've had some good times and some not so good times. While it offers a massive escape from the real world, it's also a time of (depending on your personality and approach) some shifts from massive euphoria to quiet downtime, chemical assistance and all the things that go with those, and sometimes just moment when you find yourself on your own in a bit of downtime and it's absolutely rubbish. I've gone from having the time of my life to quietly sobbing my eyes out during Katy Perry singing Firework (it was an emotional time, don't @ me 😂) so it can really go from one extreme to another, and that can be rough. But it can also feel f**king fantastic to get it off your chest! My biggest tips for myself now are to recognise when I need a bit of quiet time (for me it's the Tiny Tea Tent or some time up in the Healing Fields), when I need to scale back the beers, when I need to seek out some friends rather than go see the band I really want to see but would be on my own for, and to not have the weight of expectation on myself to be having the best time. If I'm fundamentally not in a great place before I leave then chances are that the festival might only be a sticking plaster. And that's all FINE. Tbh I'm pretty stressed with work at the moment, so chances are that'll come out at some point. It might mean that I get absolutely wrecked one night and get it out of my system that way, or that I seek out some quiet time to gradually destress in a slightly healthier way 😄
  4. It does. Some say that ME is actually reincarnated every hundred years or so. Think of him as the Dalai Farmer
  5. No worries, figured that would be the case after you mentioned the materials costs previously, but thought it worth checking!
  6. Only issue with a carabiner on belt / belt loop is that it sits a bit lower on the thigh and bounces around more when moving about.
  7. I run my belt through the carry handle. Just unscrew it and leave the lid in situ, double bonus of not losing the lid. Having it hanging on your hip is also a good constant reminder to stay on top of drinking water, especially good in the hot years.
  8. Have you found O2 data signal to be getting consistently worse over the past year or so? Me & Mrs Q both on O2 as it always used to be fine, but signal when we're moving drops out as often as not.
  9. @Sawdusty surfer what was the end word on your log candles old chap? Are any going to be available, still time to take orders, or a complete no-no this year?

    Campsite Poll

We were right up in Lime Kiln last year. Quiet, plenty of space, but f**k me was it a long way from anywhere
  11. Did that one year. Lugged in a couple of those garage bags of firewood. Hands were burning by the time we got them to camp, which ironically is more than the bloody wood ever did

    The churnups

    Ha, breaking out the classics!
  13. Previously there's normally a decent spot to the right of the tent as you look at it, by the path through to the tipi field. Generally easier to get served as well. Never bothered trying to get inside tbh, if the weather's decent it's much nicer to be outside and get the blue skies! Atmosphere's still top notch

    2023 New Music

    Arlo Parks album is lush
  15. My mate is getting in on a coach at some point on Thursday so it'll be subject to him as I've promised to meet him at the gate when he comes in so he can find the campsite and get straight on it without dicking about. However currently on my list is Baggy Mondays (obvs), Inja into London Elektricity @ Glade Dome, Beatles Dub Club into Panic Shack on Truth, maybe Showhawk Duo in Croissant Neuf, then back to Truth for Skindred and Ho99o9. Very much a first pass though, got some serious Clashfinder work to do this evening!
  16. Incredible. Clearly I was fairly spangled when I had them and have no idea what I was up to! 😂

    The Churnups Poll

They're more likely to go for the one that sampled the riff instead of the one that actually had him as a guest. Fun fact: I have both versions on 12" single somewhere at my parents' house. Amazingly the remix hasn't really appreciated in value.

    The Churnups Poll

Absolute scenes when they smash out Doctorin' The Tardis

    Gig Buddies

I think there'll be a few of us knocking about for Slowdive
  20. I went there, damned if I can remember so I'd love someone to remind me! All I can remember is that it was absolutely glorious. I think somewhere near SE Corner?
