Just realised that there's a What The Pitta in Brighton as well. Been to the one in Croydon Boxpark, definitely recommend the vegan gyros. Proper lovely. One of my workmates is what you'd class (and she classes) as a very traditional South African, very sceptical of any pretend meat, and even she admitted it was bloody lovely.

I'll give them a look. Took my non-veggie mate to Halo Burger the other week and he was properly impressed, any other suggestions? Trying to convince him to join me at the Hope for one of their dogs next...

Not really. As a joke between mates (which it was) I'd say perfectly reasonable. Just gets odd when filtered into wider circulation. Don't make much difference either way though really.

The Guardian one I can kinda get, it's a professional media outlet with a big reach and yeah you could argue they have certain responsibilities. I'm less convinced that they have any real reason to get in a twist about a poster knock up done to stitch up some mates on April 1st. Not saying your info is wrong, but seems a bit OTT. Every year there are fake poster mock ups doing the rounds

There was one that someone did of the Genosys venue in Block 9. Beyond normal speculation that's the only one I'm aware of.

Normal speculation is bog standard and one thing, and that's absolutely fine. It happens all the time. Mocking up posters into circulation is a bit of a step forward. People then contacting the acts themselves based on seeing that poster and receiving info from them one way or the other has the potential to create a bit more news. If such a mock up actually hits the nail on the head in one or two cases and those conversations have made their way outside of general web chat and into the scope of the festival / area bookers and acts, then the fest may be wondering if people are actually leaking info that they shouldn't. The problem isn't the mock ups and the speculation, it's what people have done with it afterwards.

I'm gonna guess that contacting all the acts might not have helped matters along 😁

The popularity / acclaim of Nutini has genuinely passed me by over the years. Not to start an "is he big enough" conversation, but without the conversations here if someone had said to me about him playing I'd have assumed low on the Other. Shows what I know.
