  1. This is the thing with Williams, for me at least. His schtick / persona / character / personality or whatever has now got to the stage where he just makes my skin crawl and my teeth itch. And I can't get past that.

    Taylor swift

If / when she rocks up at the G I'm leaning more and more towards going to see her now. I've never been dismissive of her, but equally based on what I'd heard I had her marked down as impressive but not for me. Had a proper listen to Midnights when I went out for a run the other day and hot damn there's some good stuff on there. Mastermind and Anti-Hero are bloody good. Rethinking a bit!
  3. Or just having fun
  4. Just the presence of daft punk with The Streets scribbled up the side that made me chuckle
  5. It's like you're just not really putting the effort in anymore 😁
  6. I think the key bit that keeps coming up is finding ways of exercising that you enjoy. I'm lucky(?) in as much as I genuinely enjoy all of the things that I do these days, so although there are easier or harder days it doesn't feel like a chore on average. Sounds like you're bang on track!
  7. Get me a podcast slot and I'll consider it 😂 "How To Be Averagehuman"
  8. I can do all the individual bits, just never tried stringing them together!
  9. That's a fantastic sight pal. Been such a journey for her!
  10. Nothing major then! Doing OK so far since kicking back off again, sticking to my 3 days on 1 day off routine and settling into a rhythm. Starting to see lifting numbers creep back up again, and stretching out the running distances to just shy of 20km last week so on track for the September half. Weight isn't doing much yet, but noticing it in other places so not too fussed. Challenge at the moment is high stress period at work, so having to fight really hard not to fall back into stress eating. Fell off the wagon a bit over the weekend but will do a food shop later and make sure I've got all the good stuff in. Also starting to consider a new challenge at some point. Anyone on here done a triathlon before?

Browsing and there's camper tix on there now @Skip997
  12. Went back to pilates on Sunday @Amy Lawn. The only difference when I stretched to reach my toes was a change in facial expression. Don't end up like me.
  13. First run up in the hills for over a year. Nice easy start as well; 1.5km straight uphill out of the car park, 120m elevation with an average gradient of 7.5%, 22.5% at its worst. Absolutely blowing. Still, just under 12km and kept the pace just under the 6min/km mark. With the bastard hills in there I'm pretty happy with that.
  14. Honestly, you lose your car and spend an hour looking for it just once and you're never allowed to forget it
  15. I can see next year happening too. Normally go with my brother and he's gutted I'm not doing it this year, so reckon we'll make it a thing again next time.
  16. Sadly not this year, too much other stuff on
  17. What did you do this year that you've never done before? Climbed the Ribbon Tower (another as part of an efests / VM group) Made it to The Temple and had a boogie Saw Wheel Of Four Tunes Watched a late night Cabaret act instead of a music stage headliner Watched some acts in the Big Top What you have yet to cross off your Glastonbury to-do list? Drink and dance at the Mezcal Yard NYC Downlow as I'm certain I'd love the music in there, just never got past the idea of queueing Have a fully vegan festival Meet a few efesters I keep meaning to but never get round to!

Gabriels is the only one on my radar this week
  19. Week one done. Why aren't I fit and ripped again yet? This is bullshit.
  20. One, his time for being a relevant headliner has been and gone. If you look at his discography no-one's really going to know any of his songs since 2003. Stuff's generally sunk without trace, and his position at or near the top of the cultural tree has slipped massively. Two, when he was relevant as big as was he didn't have the cultural impact or massive influence on what came after in the way that heritage headliners with limited recent output like GnR, The Cure or Elton John. Three, and recognising this is entirely subjective, I don't want him there. The though of Party Like A Russian being played as part of a Pyramid headline set is making my brain bleed. Legend slot I'd have no argument with, although it's unlikely I'd be there because he makes my teeth itch. But no way do I see him as a headliner.
  21. Hadn't even thought of JT. I'd be all over that, parents used to play his stuff a lot.
  22. I meant to say that as well but clearly got lost! It's a mix of bands I've been listening to and new stuff, but in general I like ot try and see a band I've not seen live before if they're available. But even stuff you've been listening to in the run up will never be as familiar as the song you've heard on the radio a thousand times!
  23. For me it's a bit of a mix. I spend all day seeking out new stuff and trying to see things I've never seen or wouldn't normally see, so it's nice to be able to balance that with the familiar as well. The more familiar things are the bigger the potential community at that point as well, think of the big sense of togetherness at something like Baggy Mondays. Sometimes when you've spent your afternoon earnestly listening to a blend of drama school performance art and shonky accordion playing, you just want to get pissed and belt out Livin' On A Prayer
  24. Yeah, definitely considering jumping on board the F&B train as well
