Yep. We knew that the current word on Kendrick was he wasn’t planning to tour 2022, and Billie seemingly popping up on his original day doesn’t look especially good, although obviously not quite the final nail the coffin yet. It’s another piece of the jigsaw against Kendrick headlining I think it’s fair to say. Just speculation, but back in 2020 it seemed as though Glastonbury perhaps held off in hope Kendrick would pop up, which he obviously did. Perhaps this time around they’ve not been as patient and wanted to get things tied down earlier?

Aye, those shows do look like they could have been put in with Glastonbury in mind. I might be totally off, but I completely think she’s in for Kendrick. Still might not mean Taylor as well, Elton could well be there on the Sunday.
-
How do we know she has dates Saturday and Sunday because she was asked to do Glastonbury on the Friday?
-
How so? I think she’s reached the level now where she’s just “Taylor Swift” and not defined by being a tweeny pop girl. The main point is I don’t think there would be any issue at all booking both Taylor and Billie. And if you want to class Macca as a guitar band act, surely Taylor is as well?

I don’t think the general public would view Taylor Swift as a female pop headliner anymore. I think she’s moved beyond that tag. The argument stands more with Dua and Billie, but I think Taylor and Billie (also Gaga) would totally be on the cards. Taylor is just Taylor - she’s her own thing now. Billie/Elton or Macca/Taylor absolutely works, and what an amazing opportunity to have 3/4 women at the top of your bill while still maintaining a diverse mix of genres.

My mum fucking loves her. Bought her a limited copy of her EP on vinyl for Christmas 😂
-
Aye that’s my concern! Taylor headlining and me sat there ticketless is giving me genuine nightmares
-
We live in hope. Would be the greatest 3 hours in Glastonbury history.
-
We said the same about Kendrick though, and it seems he’s bitten the dust now. The festivals she was down for in 2020 seem to have moved on with their lineups. Hope she’s there, but thoroughly expecting she won’t be.

Ah yeah, part of me still really wants that Noel/Macca one-two.
-
Feel like we'd need a Lorde/Reg Tiny Dancer duet.
-
I think there's very little chance of LDR at this stage - i'd wager Lorde is the direct replacement there.
-
Lorde, Cave, Dave. Wolf Alice on t'Other for my money!
-
She's just biding her time. First Red single this Friday, then a few weeks down the line we'll get the tour dates 😉
-
Feels to me like maybe Glastonbury were holding off for Kendrick to become available, and they've now given up and pivoted to Billie. Maybe this just suggests Glastonbury were clinging on to the 2020 headliners more so than the European festivals (who seem to have moved on with new lineups quite quickly) and willing to wait a bit longer before finalising things? It wouldn't shock me if Glastonbury were only now finalising their bookings with confidence 2022 can go ahead and Glastonbury wasn't originally part of Billie's tour.

Why the hell wasn't Oxytocin a single? Whole perception of this album would have been different if that dropped a few months ago.
-
Massive stuff this. New album is far better than the singles were indicating. I think she’ll smash it. Curious to see what the stage set up is for her. Expecting much more production this time out.
-
Maybe Taylor is doing a Folkmore tour, and G are classing her as an indie headliner - Billie (pop), Elton (legend), Taylor (indie) 😉😎

Aye - September was the Lover tour announcement (a number of weeks after the album release I recall). Still think there's time left for an announcement, could even be November time as you say. There seems a decent chance a single drops this Friday, so between then and November hopefully we hear something. @brettredmayne - has the bloke with the Stadium of Light info had any follow up?
-
Macca is still rumoured for Werchter though, so surely he’s still in the picture? He’s only doing that show if he’s still doing Glastonbury, surely? I am ALL here for Billie, Macca and Taylor until we’re certain they’re both out. Two female headliners for the first time - make it so Emily.
-
Huh. It's a big load of meh...Feels like a song Kanye is guesting on, not actually his single, for a start. Bold move to choose the same song title as Dylan and have none of the urgency or fire. This one is more like a gentle breeze.
-
Seeing Tim Burgess on Twitter schlepping around loads of festivals over the last few weeks. Looks amazing. Yeah, totally 100%
-
Watch the Throne tour was something else. The highs of that show to the low of Glastonbury was quite the come down. If only he’d put the time and effort in to planning Glastonbury that he did for that tour. I think I’ve just accepted that Kanye is no longer for me. I was all over the first three records and still think they’re classics, 808s was okay, then with Fantasy everyone went wild for it but it never clicked that much with me. WTT was a total blast but obviously a patchy record in hindsight, and the gimmic has maybe worn off over time. Tried everything since but it just doesn’t register with me at all, and the guy being a total ass hole doesn’t really help his cause. And I think I’m fine with that.

I don’t want to lose any of our holy trinity, but you’d have to concede Macca, Elton and Taylor would be the biggest set of headliners you could possibly book.
