I think that distances are misleading for Glastonbury. The gradient, walking surface and the crowd density have far more impact on time. as @incidentsaid if you’re walking along the railway track in a straight line you will probably be going at twice the speed that you would if you were going from pyramid to other zig zagging in and out of people bimbling

I’d base it to the main stage of each area as that’s were most will want

Have you tried an aeropress? I find them much easier, less messy and better espresso/Americano than a molasses pot. Probably cheaper as well

No! You are more likely to get a ticket if you’ve got your bits out. There’s a ring fenced pool of tickets for people with naturist leanings- to preserve the demographic of the festival

That would drastically cut the amount given to charities! The charities have the contracts for marshalling sanitation etc. and get volunteers to do the work whilst they collect the money for the contract. Not having volunteer tickets would mean that the festival would have to pay commercial companies to do those roles to satisfy the licensing conditions. Yes that might mean more tickets to sell and more revenue to pay the commercial companies but companies need to make a profit and would take a big chunk out of the money available for charities. And that is without mentioning the change in demographic that having more paying customers and fewer volunteers and musicians would cause.

I’ve taken my kids from 4-17 and they were able to appreciate it from the beginning and more fully at the end. Hedonistic activities have to be planned/negotiated. It is fantastic seeing your children experiencing things for the first time (thankfully not my son’s first pill). I’ve also done the festival with mates and solo and had fantastic times. It’s a different festival with children I would say not better or worse just different. it might be a bigger difference with the modern festival- the first time we took the children there was no naughty corner chilling around a camp fire by your tent was the norm so could still be done

Yes. Suppose it depends on how you look at it. We will happily use that to provide food and necessities for anyone that stays with us some might not and keep the money. could say the same with people doing fostering, some do it for money some do it for more altruistic reasons. Most with a spare room could probably make more money on AirBnB than £350 pm though.
