I have never done this but do admit to wondering what people who are on the front row for someone like Elton John do as they must have had to stay there for hours. I can imagine it's difficult to hold someone's spot for them there although tbf I manage to keep spots elsewhere at the front

    Tenna?

My shift was 2pm to 10pm on Thursday and it was steadily busy until about 7pm.

On Wednesday some of my friends joined the very long queue at 6am and eventually reached the front at 11:15 am. By the time they got to Spring Ground both of them were absolutely exhausted and would never do it again. I know I couldn't physically queue like that which is why we go into E21 Forward Accessible Campervan site. 😊

It must have been the Thursday that I was up there then. I was busy loading the minibuses and it was a steady stream all day and didn’t notice any big queues to get to the marquee. Just shows how your perspective is different from different angles-never seen it from the queue side

There will definitely be a queue as you collect your access pack from the Accessible Arrivals Marquee in the car park. People start queuing overnight just like any other pedestrian gate so depending on what time you arrive will depend on the wait. Wednesday morning is the busiest time. I recommend taking a chair for the queue and plenty of water and snacks. There are toilets but nothing else. I have experienced both entering the festival via the Accessible Arrivals Marquee and working there. I volunteered as an Oxfam steward, my role was checking tickets there.

I stand corrected!  Must just have been when I’ve been on shift there that there wasn’t a queue.

Different this year as I have a volunteer ticket as a friend’s PA in the assisted campsite. First time I’ll be camping on main site since 2012! Got a B&B Tuesday night (near Podimore), then being collected early doors on Wed as we were only allocated 1 car park pass (understandably). Getting mentally prepared to queue again, as my festival ticket will be at the dedicated gate.

If you’re parking in the accessible car park there won’t be a queue apart from the one for the minibus to take your stuff to Spring Ground

Ordered a tent canopy/extension for my 2 man... problem with the pop-up fresh & black is no porch! I'm worried about rain this year and needing somewhere to offload wet gear before getting into the tent. Got to do some practice runs putting it up before the festival!

The F&B XL popups do have a porch-but only a small one. I have added a Vango gear store to mine for extra space

I'm not certain, but was The Woods bar there last year?

I know it was there in the past, but my (admittedly unreliable in this instance) memory suggests that it went away.

No it definitely wasn’t there last year

i've been to 20+ glastonburys and have never come across anything like this either, so I suspect it's somene being generous with the truth somewhere or pulling your leg.

but if this year was my last time?

    great 🙂

It was a thing but I don’t know if I’d want to do it. My clothes smell enough on the way home without adding rotten tomatoes to the bouquet

thanks but i don't really count WG as a stage that counts for much, i was more-meaning the regular stages.

Florence Welch played  a secret set in Downlow the night she headlined. Only one song if that counts as a set

Loads of people were blagging at gate c last year.  Security are useless and having them before the Oxfam stewards makes no sense at all. It should be the other way round

The security before the gate are to check for any prohibited items and act as a visual deterrent. There are also usually security after the wristbanding to chase down the runners

Indeed. I was the security supervisor in their one year, I think 2004?

It was one of the times England got knocked out a major football tournament

Can’t you narrow it down any further? That’s 50% of the years.

That doesn’t make any sense, you have to try the tent to find the padlock, especially if it’s on the inner tent. If someone tries the zip to see if it’s padlocked and finds it isn’t… they are in the tent!
As long as nobody can see the padlock from the outside or see you lock it, it will do something to deter an opportunistic thief. All tents have something worth nicking in, especially on the first few days of a festival.

I looked at that, and I think that's where the tickets will be delivered - didn't seem to be anything much going on in there when I downloaded it yesterday. The email I got came via the regular Coop app, and asked me to register interest for the ticket sale on 1 April. Previous presales have all been accessed in the regular app.

    For Android it's here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobile.appWeCS9BXzZa

It says in the ts&cs on the page that you register interest that you need to use the new live app. I think they will be testing it with the new event. But you can only get into the app with the code you get from TM

Carhenge did have a stage right. Not that I saw anything on it, but wonder if they could utilise that

I can see it developing into a Trash City type of area. They certainly had bands and DJs on in 2009

Ok, checked it out further - you need the Coop app, membership, which costs £1 if you're not already. Then turn on Coop live notifications in the app. They do pre-sales via the app too.

You also need to use the co-op live app rather than the regular coop app. Looks as though it’s a test event for the app as well as you will be given a code to access your account when you buy the test tickets
