    2024 Headliners

Harsh on Queen of the Supermarket.
  2. So they managed to get a whole festival cancelled in Malaysia. I hope the backlash against the LBGT community in Malaysia isn't too harsh after this.
  3. I saw Blur in Dublin on saturday, they are on top form at the moment (saw them at Hyde Park in 09 and 15). Phil Daniels did his best rendition of Parklife since the 2009 reunions, the band sound as tight as ever and the new songs stand up well (Narcissist, Russian Strings, St Charles Square). Difference from the prior sets is that they have taken the string section away, which was a shame for The Universal, otherwise you will have a great time.
  4. I think they will regret not cancelling when the reviews come in for this later. Proper ropey, I saw them last year and they were rock solid but this is as poor as it gets for a headline set.
  5. Alex turners voice is screwed. They should have canned the show.
  6. Chvrches are blooming fantastic on the Other. Lauren's singing has improved so much.

    I feel sick

Filled my weekend with a couple of gigs here in Dublin (Blur & Sam Fender) both of which should be fantastic in their own right, but it won't make up for missing the farm.
  8. Three nights in a row seems a stretch across two places. I think this makes her less likely.
  9. It's good but it doesn't bring any new ideas to the table. Your Mind Is Not Your Friend is the highlight. Looking forward to seeing them tour later this year, hopefully the setlist doesn't drop all the Sleep Well Beast material, that tour was the best they've performed.
  10. The Black Keys talk returning to the UK and their "epic" new album (nme.com) Eagled-eyed fans may have noticed a Glastonbury-shaped hole in The Black Keys upcoming tour schedule, however we probably won’t be seeing the band at Worthy Farm this summer. “We got an offer from Glastonbury that was so insulting, we’re never going to play the festival again,” said Carney. “We know it’s a big deal for people in the UK but the weight of what the festival is doesn’t translate to most Americans. We have no interest in playing it.”
  11. It's actually had a crap load of cash spent on it in the past 5 years, the town centre has gone from bad to average.
  12. Dublin in August, big show for them.
  13. They seem like a good fit for Finsbury Park.
  14. Another one touring around the farm dates
  15. Saw them last night in Dublin. Absolutely class, seeing the full 26 song setlist I was delighted we had no guests as I wouldn't have wanted them to actually drop any of the songs they played. One gripe I did have is the fans voting for Menswear over Paris, democracy doesn't always function in the right way
  16. 1. Arctic Monkeys - The Car 2. Kendrick - Mr Morale & The Big Steppers 3. Paolo Nutini - Last Night In the Bittersweet 4. Wet Leg - Wet Leg 5. The 1975 - Being Funny In a Foreign Language Track - Body Paint - Arctic Monkeys Gig - Wolf Alice (Glastonbury)

Coldplay, Dua, Capaldi are my three picks.
  18. Whoops 🙄 @eFestivals - please can you correct? Sorry!

    Blur

I didn't get tickets for Glastonbury, so I'm going to go to Malahide for Blur, Arctics and Sam Fender that week. Definitely helps ease the pain of not going next year.
  20. Dynamic Pricing, Golden Circles, Inflation Busting ticket prices. Fair to say that 2022 has normalized some horrible practices in the music ticket buying industry. To be honest it feels like everyone is trying to grab as much cash as they possibly can before the recession bites.

    Blur

Thing with these prices is, that for even for those who can afford it and love the band. There is a sense that you just can't justify it to yourself for value for money. Nobody likes feeling ripped off, which you have to say, this basically is!

    Blur

Marlay Park still has availability and no dates in Croke Park yet either, although that's too big for them I think!
