  1. Yeah he was pretty disappointing at the summer sessions in Glasgow a few years ago too. Set time then was also on the short side.
  2. Loving that. These lads are right up there with Big Thief in my post-lockdowns 'most-want-to-see-live' list.
  3. "I'll be riding shotgun, all the way with your mum"
  4. Surely we can't be too far away from landfill-pop becoming a thing?
  5. Then your presumptions are the issue here. Let me be clear; I don't believe Ken Loach is a holocaust denier. In fact, it's a ridiculous claim given he's on record as posted above acknowledging the holocaust as a historical fact and it's horrific consquences. I don't believe he is an anti-semite. He has a tendency, as I said above which is often synonymous with many of the left, of lazily conflating Jewish issues with the Palestinian conflict. Something which I don't necessarily agree with. I also don't agree with him wanting to 'kick out' MPs that disagree with him in the same way I don't think he should be kicked out for disagreeing with those same MPs now. And, just to clarify one last thing since you brought up Muslims/Saudi Arabia; I also already mentioned my thoughts towards Sam Harris, who has said - for example - that he supports racial profiling of Arabs at airports to support anti-terrorism. I fundamentally disagree with that argument, but I don't think it means he's an anti-muslim bigot.
  6. Given I had rock all in headliner options on the Sunday I'd be delighted with AM in that place.
  7. You've certainly come to the right place, but even I think that's a stretch.
  8. The article you quoted is in direct response to the case you've mentioned in your first paragraph. If you want to talk about cut and dried I don't think he could've been any clearer: "The Holocaust is as real a historical event as the second world war itself and not to be challenged. In Primo Levi’s words: “Those who deny Auschwitz would be ready to remake it.” The terrible pictures I first saw as a nine-year-old are ingrained on my memory, as they are for all my generation. Like readers of this paper, I know the history of Holocaust denial, its place in far right politics and the role of people like David Irving. To imply that I would have anything in common with them is contemptible." The other examples are lazy, and unfortunately, synonymous of much of the discourse in the left around Israel and Palestine. I don't think it makes him an anti-semite in the same way that I don't think the likes of Sam Harris are anti-muslim bigots for some of the opinions he's espoused regarding terrorism.

  10. Labour have expelled Ken Loach 🤦‍♂️
  11. Got a nice surprise last night, went in to buy tickets for Shame for their gig in April next year only to find its been brought forward to Halloween this year. Got my first gig back to look forward to!
  12. Same @Hugh Jass/ @philipsteak, definitely would've been a more interesting direction to go in. Overall it was fine. I'll likely watch the whole series but it's not going to be a 'day of release' watch like all the live action ones have been* *I do realise I had to catch up with the first 4 eps of Loki but that was circumstances outwith my control.
  13. Surely to keep everyone happy, Billie should just make more good songs.
  14. Some of us are still pretending it's 2002 though.
  15. Hanging ON! I am "hanging on to Macca".
  16. Yeah, today's events have me leaning towards a completely new trio. I'm still hanging out to Macca but I'm close to writing Kendrick off and I'm thinking Taylor for 2023. Still plenty of twists and turns but the idea of rolling over all three that we had yesterday seems miles away now.
  17. You didn't say 'tweeny pop girl' initially though, you said 'female pop headliner' and I would argue that to the general public non superfan/stan demographic, that's what she remains. The issue is that it would be completely unreflective of the festival's booking history. That's not to say it couldn't happen, but it's far more likely that Billie is a Taylor replacement and tour dates have led to the days switching.
  18. Yeah, that's a helluva reach dude.
  19. Billie/Relton/Tyler combo if this theme continues.
  20. Pretty excited about Relton Rohn getting over.
