  1. There’s a couple of unannounced TBA’s after Shanti Celeste and Saoirse on Saturday evening (which is already a must see set for me) then the Common have posted this… interesting

  2. Thanks to the help and support on here (recommendations to do Apple Pay etc) I have managed to secure a slot, I thought this would be my first year missed since my first festival in 2014 but  once again the magic of these forums has helped me get there. Still shaking and buzzing, see you all on the farm!

  3. Does anyone know with Oxfam spots coming up tomorrow if you get through are you only able to reserve a spot for yourself or can you put a friend who’s registered down too?

  4. Hayfever been especially bad last few days and pollen count showing very high throughout the festival. Praying for a comfortable time as I’m sure fellow sufferers will agree it can make a huge difference to the day to day enjoyment! Tasting food and indulging in other activities to name two of the things most affected..

6 down 10 to go with potentially Glade tomorrow. Looking good.

I imagine if they're going to do all 16 of these there will be more frequent announcements in the next couple weeks.

Does the Beat Hotel not get an announcement? Can’t remember from last time

  6. Quick question we’ve got 2 groups to try for, one with 4 people in, and one with 3, but all the money for all 7 tickets is going to be in one bank account. This won’t cause any problems will it? Say for example both groups get through at once and are inputting the same card details for different orders. Can’t imagine it would cause a problem but just to check if anyone else has had issues doing this?

  7. Hey all, looking at getting transport sorted for our group, we usually book National Express coach to travel to the festival as it has the added bonus of dropping you right at the front of the gates with a dedicated entrance, plus they give 25% off for groups of 4 or more.

They have changed the policy now and don't do any discounts so they are now charging £95 return each from Manchester!

Looking at private hire for our group and wondering if anyone knows if it's worth it, given we want to avoid nasty queues that you get in usual carparks - we usually arrive at 6am and can stroll in when the gates open, but the website states the following for private hire

"Glastonbury Festival 2019 will have a dedicated area for Private Hire coaches of 15 seats and above. This will be inside Bronze Gate off the A361." Given this seems to suggest you will then have to trek to the nearest pedestrian gate, does anyone have experience doing it and can suggest if its worth it for the sake of saving a few quid in travel?

Just wondering because as I wandered around what struck me was the amount of vile, abusive, threatening and downright aggressive anti Tory messaging I have ever seen at the festival, In my view it was my favourite of the 6 I've been to in every way, bands,DJs,weather, side attractions, food, Thatchers cider (yummy!) but not the politics which was just everywhere this year. I totally get that Glastonbury is a left leaning festival, thats fine but does this leftness just have to be so damn aggressive and toxic. Seems the original Glasto ethos of peace, love, harmony has been completely lost in aggressive Momentum style Left wing rhetoric. This was compounded by Corbyn crashing the Glasto crowd, claim them as his own and practically blaming rich evil Tories for killing everyone at Grenfell, this a  spectacle I was forced to watch whilst awaiting the arrival of the Kaiser Chiefs on the Other Stage. It is a pity as Tory supporters prob make up a massive proportion of the Glasto festival goers, and if they're not welcome then presumably neither is their money and Glasto can just become a giant version of the Leftield stage.

    Sensible replies please

Seems a bit dramatic. Would be interested to hear anecdotes of the vile, abusive, threatening and aggressive behaviour that you witnessed, as all I saw was passionate yet peaceful voicing of opinion??

  9. Hey all,

Heading to gottwood this year for the first time in north wales, heard amazing thing and the lineup is special to say the least.

The website states just 8 cans of beer or 2 bottles of wine per person across the full 4 days and was just wondering if anyone knew based on experience how heavily enforced this is? Don't want to take any more only to have it wasted. Cheers!

  10. Big group of us going this time round and the last 3 years we have used national express, but considering going private this year for cost and not needing to travel to coach station etc, has anyone got any experience with it?

The official website states the private coach drop is at Bronze gate. When compared to the official coaches that drop you at yellow, how far would the walk be to Park Home for example, does anyone have an idea?

Also at Bronze gate is there much of a queue early doors Wednesday, as the advantage of national express in the past has been the queue jump element..?

If anyone's done it before and is clued up some advice would be great before booking, cheers!

  11. I think the improvements were made last year as there was a big difference from 2014 which was carried over again this year. The other stage has definitely begun to shake off its label as the soulless 'v festival' stage of the festival. I spent a lot of time there this year and loved it.

    We were very lucky.

The rainbow we had over the site was due to the 25 mm of rain dumped in the next valley - and we got none of that.

Also, on the Friday two huge storms passed very close by and just missed the site so again very lucky.

Add to that the forecast of very heavy rain from Sunday afternoon and we really did get lucky.

It could have been so much worse and thankfully I remembered to cover myself in factor 30 every morning so have a nice suntan and no burnt bits.

How good was that rainbow! Covered the whole festival during Tame Impala playing Let it happen whilst the sun was setting. One of my all time Glastonbury moments that very nearly shed a tear!

  13. Watched New Order instead but have since watched it back and was blown away. What made the whole thing so much more special is her connection with the festival. The way she talks so passionately about her love of the festival and how magical it is really resonated with everyone in that crowd and that's something that I've never seen in such a way from a headliner before.

It will hands down in years to come be regarded as one of the all time greats.
