  1. Macca had no qualms confirming himself last time. Now that it’s out in the open that he’s touring this summer there isn’t much to hold him back.
  2. They’re not doing Glastonbury.
  3. Didn’t Emily strongly hint there would be another announcement before the drop? I still think we’ll have Macca confirmed separately and then Kendrick on the poster.
  4. Matt does make it sound like I’d be electrocuted for being too old if I ever tried to listen to them.
  5. To be fair I’ve not had much inclination to seek out Dojee Cat or Bojack Thy Horseman. I’m pretty sure they’re not meant for me and I’m fine with that.
  6. I read this forum and I still don’t know who or what Doja Cat is.
  7. Are they the “Swifties”?
  8. Just been out for a run down by the O2, fair to say it’s not in great shape. Gonna take a while to fix that but I think the ripped panels are above the shopping area, not the gig space. So hopefully the arena won’t be out of action for too long.
  9. I think the bigger question is who do YOU think attends the festival?
  10. You’ve been to Glastonbury right? You know that the majority of punters aren’t Gen Z, or whatever label they have these days, right?
  11. The Fatboy booking was a clear and obvious nod to the festivals 50th and his long association with it. It was the right booking at the time as it was hard to begrudge him his moment. But now we’re not celebrating the 50th I could easily him being shifted over to the JP or somewhere.
  12. If she’s coming back from Scandinavia to do a secret then why not just do a full one?
  13. I think we’re still waiting to see how much damage Solar Power has done to Lorde’s standing these days.
  14. Plenty of the arenas were booked in 2020 though, the Sweden and Norway ones for instance. They’re the priorities to fulfill. Then it makes sense to add a few more to cash in on her rise in popularity over the last couple of years and then some Euro festivals ask you to headline…
  15. These too. My view on DL is “not impossible, but improbable”.
  16. As I keep trying to explain, she sold a lot of tickets for a European tour that’s had to be rescheduled and that is her first priority. That tour is now taking place over the festival season where it’s much easier to bake in the likes of Roskilde than it is to fly back to the UK to do the odd show. It won’t have been a conscious decision, more a case of the logistics and commercials of rescheduling a European tour making it very difficult.
  17. He timeshares it with Chris Martin.
  18. At least we know he’ll be there.
  19. As I said, her first priority would be rescheduling the European tour and honouring the tickets she’s sold for it. That tour now runs through GF weekend. If she was that desperate to do the festival then surely she could moved the Finland date forward a day and maybe the Norway/Sweden dates back a day (can’t be arsed to do a deep dive into Scandinavian arena availability in June). That scheduling does not suggest Glastonbury is a priority, especially when you consider she’s at Roskilde the week after, which has quite obviously been baked into the tour.
  20. I think what a few people are guilty of forgetting is that not everything is about Glastonbury. The scheduling of tours are largely commercial decisions. Dua has a fairly extensive looking European tour booked for this summer. I’m sure her team have discussed the possibility of doing GF this year but that schedule suggests to me it’s not a priority. Her first priority will be honouring her commitments to her lucrative tour rather than a one off on the second stage at Glastonbury. These decisions are as much commercial as they are artistic, what if she contracts Covid on the flight to/from GF for instance? It’s not as if her bailing on this year would have any lasting consequences to her future prospects either.
  21. Or she wants a couple of days off in a beautiful part of the world. Sometimes gaps are just gaps.
  22. Let’s wait and see. As I’ve said, she might do it, although I have my doubts on how the festival’s green credentials would feel about an act jetting in and out from Scandinavia just for a 90 minute set… What is true though is that there are legitimate reasons to doubt whether it will happen.
  23. Matt, if it was an act you weren’t desperate to see with that schedule would you be saying the same?
  24. Exactly. She’s either have to do Glastonbury-Helsinki back to back or Glastonbury-Oslo. Not impossible but not a formality by any stretch.
  25. Her being in Scandinavia on the Thursday and Sunday is enough to cast reasonable doubt. Added to the fact that there has been no talk of her doing it this year. These are facts, whereas all we have to suggest she is doing it is you saying she is. She might well do it, but it’s certainly not as cut and dried as you seem to think right now.
