Also happy to chat mate. Know how it feels. Music has an amazing way of bringing out those emotions.

A touching moment of human expression. Brought a tear to my eye.
  3. Perhaps, but I think it is more to do with the fact London has such a large population (rather than being from London gives you an advantage in the music scene). I would argue that Manchester and Liverpool have a larger influence on the UK music scene than London does, relative to the size of the city. I don't that is a negative thing. In fact, it is a credit to the cities and one of the things that makes them great places. Love Liverpool as a place (in particular).
  4. I don't think any city dominates. London is the biggest city in the country by a landslide (population wise) so not a surprise if there are more acts from there at the festival. I don't think it is any huge split though. Liverpool and Manchester have, undoubtedly, bigger mainstream influence in the rock/indie genre. Lets be real, bands like the Courteeners would be half as popular if they were from down south. Average at best and famous off the hype of being from Manchester (a hugely influential city famous for its music scene).

Watching Yungblud at the moment. Great energy but just can't connect with the songs. Not my thing. Such a shame Macca not being shown now.
  6. The British acts with the biggest slots this year are: Sam Fender, Noel G, Foals, Macca, Years and Years, Elbow, Robert Plant and AK, Pet Shop Boys. 2 of them are from London. Doesn't seem like dominance to me. Grime originated in London so no suprise lots of the acts are from there. It's not like grime has taken over the festival.
  7. Agreed, but I don't feel London dominates music culture in the UK and, therefore, any more or less influence on the Glastonbury line up than any other major UK city.
  8. Why is London relevant?

Olivia Rodrigo knocked it out the park. Brilliant. Lily Allen coming out was special.

That's a shame. Enjoy her on record and seeing her live in October so hopefully won't be any similar issues.

Just been catching up, Metronomy were brilliant. Such a great live act. Watched some of beabdobee, thought it was okay. Little bit flat, crowd didn't appear to be massively engaged but it is quite chilled music so that could be why. Caught the end of Glass Animals which was good fun.

Not really my thing but I think Billie has done a good job. She has boat loads of charisma and ended the set with a bang.

Ahh, makes sense. Misinterpreted what you were saying

Not as simple as that though. Much less clashes at that time and Ziggy Marley was opening the festival for many. Both contribute to a larger crowd, despite the size of the act.

I enjoyed Wolf Alice's set, not sure I'm convinced they'll ever headline though. Not 100% sold on the lead singers vocals (when live) or that the band as a whole have the charisma to pull off a headline show. Undoubtedly good songwriters though and I'm sure they'll continue to be high up festival line ups.
  16. Just looking at the clashfinder, it says that the headliners don't clash with anything. Is that correct? Or is there an alternative to the headliners?
  17. I'm fully aware this is a weird post but I'm an overthinker and wanted to discuss other peoples experiences... I am obsessed by music, like really obsessed. The only time a feel properly 'alive' is whilst watching live music. The rush is like no other and I find myself looking for my next 'fix' as soon as I've finished a gig. Sometimes I feel like I can't enjoy other things in my life because I am thinking about music and wishing I was enjoying a gig. Furthermore, a large proportion of my free time is spent listening to music and exploring new bands. The proportion would be larger if I didn't want to make sure I spend time with my partner. I will scour the internet for the different music festival lineups and gigs that are upcoming. I'll do this to the point where I could tell you the large bulk of the lineup for most of the top UK festivals this year, and many of the smaller ones. In addition, if I'm going to a music festival I will meticulously listen to every act that is playing and form a playlist. The thought of missing out on a great band bugs me so I feel like I need to do this. This often takes me hours and I do enjoy it but anyone I've talked to about it thinks it is odd. I don't think there is any problem me loving music, in fact I'm lucky that I have such a huge pleasure in my life. My problem that I find myself stressing about is that everything seems mundane compared to music (especially live music) and that stresses me out. Maybe the problem isn't music, but the rest of my life. I do have loads to be grateful for though and overall I enjoy my life so I don't think it is depression. Does anyone experience anything similar to me? Does it stress you out? If yes, how do you cope?
  18. Decent, thanks. That is the kind of thing I was hoping for. I can imagine it being bougie 😂 Easier to convince my partner to come along to those kind of fests.
  19. Interesting, maybe it is to do with the football historically and they stuck with it. Think I'll have to wait until I leave teaching to go then 🤣
  20. Anyone know why this fest is on Thursday to Saturday (rather than Friday to Sunday)? Would love to do it one day but I'm a teacher so not possible to get the time off work.
  21. Anyone been to this festival? If yes, how was it? Not my usual thing but enjoyed Pub in the Park when I went last year so fancy giving another food festival a go. Love the location and looks a decent music lineup alongside the foodie stuff.
  22. Yeah, think that is likely as well. Also explains why they were quite late announcing the final headliner.
  23. Yeah, in some ways it is a shame as it is nice to see someone new. I guess it is tricky for smaller festivals to get new headliners every year as they haven't got the contacts. They were great last year and played an extra long set (without being asked to) just because they loved the crowd so I'm sure it'll still be banging. Great set of headliners overall though.
