Not this year though I always feel bad missing it! Lineup looks great, and it looks like they're only making use of the Gopsall Inn and Old Town Hall this time around, which sounds great.

Will 100% be building it into summer plans next year!

Yeah, they have made the old DJ stage into a place for live music as well. Will be interesting to see how it is laid out. See you next year!

  2. Anyone going to this? It is a proper hidden gem. Went the last couple of years and loved it. Festival is even smaller this year, so it'll be interesting to see the changes. Particuarly looking forward to the Sunday, Twin Atlantic been on my list to see for a long time.

Watching her on at glasto, totally different and doesn’t have the glasses on.
I think she was pissed or off her tree when she did IoW.
this is my next point, I’ve seen a few acts who I reckon were smashed, Suggs being the worst last year.
If they are / were, why do they let them get away with it!  Very unprofessional especially with the money they get and we pay.

What was wrong with her IoW performance? I thought she was great, especially considering her age.

Regarding your second question, it is because people still come to watch. If it does become a big problem for lots of people, then their stock will drop and they will fall lower down lineups. If people are still having a good time then that won't happen.

  4. Just brought a couple of resale tickets. Excited for this! I do have work on the Monday morning though. Think it is safe to say I won't be on top form 😂. Planning to leave straight after Robbie Williams finishes. Got a ferry booked from East Cowes at 1:30am. Does anyone have any suggestions on where best to camp? Somewhere near the shuttle buses would be ideal for a quick get away, but also somewhere relatively quiet (I accept it is a festival so always going to be some noise!).

Also, we will be getting to East Cowes for 6pm on Friday (as I have work on the Friday). Is it realistic to think we will be pitching our tent by around 7pm? We'll be getting the shuttle to the festival. Thanks in advance for any help!

Was pretty full in the Joiners for Plastic Mermaids last night. Two good bands in neighbouring venues. Never seen them before and thought they were outstanding.

They were quality. Some beautiful moments. Very interesting band. Also loved the support, who was fronted by one of the plastic mermaid's band members. Bit more of a folk vibe.

  6. How does this festival compare to Victorious? I went to Victorious last year for a day, ended up being disappointed due to the overcrowding and poor organisation with the buses. I'm finding myself more drawn to the smaller festivals (more friendly atmosphere and less corporate), which this obviously isn't, but it is local and I feel I should give it a go to tick it off the bucket list.

Days of an act like Blink doing a secret set are over. Would only be on the main stage and then its just a bit of a shit afternoon guest slot for a MSE headliner

They'd headline if they played. As previous poster mentioned, they have sold out their UK arena tour.

Agree that secret set is unlikely, given the new (relatively) layout.

  8. Blink 182 look like a possible headliner, given their tour schedule. No England festival dates announced and they are playing Scotland early September. Reading end of August would make sense. Maybe a secret set to avoid effecting sales for their England tour dates in October.

  9. Sadly, I am disappointed with my day at Victorious. The lineup was amazing and the acts themselves did not disappoint. Despite this, the two things that let it down were severe overcrowding/mismanagement at the castle stage and selfish attendees (not everyone of course, but a significant minority).

My partner dragged me along to Becky Hill and the stage was ridiculously busy. There was no crowd control. A stage like that (with entries on the side) needs thought about how to get people flowing in and out. Maybe a one way entrance/exit. Also, the toilets were disgusting near this stage. A river of piss coming from the urinals. They put urinals way too close together as well and weirdly near to portloos that woman were queueing for.

Regarding the selfish crowd, two particular incidents stand out.

During Becky Hill, a woman pushed her way through the crowd (knocking people out the way in the process). I then overheard her say something to the effect of "it would take ages to stay excuse me to everyone so you just have to push everyone out the way". I can't stand these kind of people. If you want to be near the front, come early. If you really do need to come past, be polite. It is common decency.

Secondly, whilst watching Sam Fender a guy behind us started pissing and it splashed over the back of my partners and my leg. When I had a go at him for it, him and his friends general attitude was 'it is a festival, this is what happens'.  Completely disgusting behaviour and the arrogance after it made it even worse. Really tainted watching an act my partner and I have being looking forward to seeing for a year.

Apologies this is a bit of an essay. I just needed to vent. I have left the festival doubting whether these large festivals are really for me anymore. Smaller festivals with a community feel are much more enjoyable and people look out for each other. I'll be booking a Sam Fender gig when he next tours the UK so I can enjoy it without piss down my leg. As that is my standout memory from my first time seeing him.

  10. Had a great time. The National smashed it. Also very impressed with Public Service Broadcasting. Dehd good fun as well.

Only downer was some of the talkers during the music. One guy behind me spent the whole of weird goodbyes telling his mate how amazing the song was and that he'd already heard it loads of times. You'd think he would listen if he likes it that much.

Buzzing for this now! It’s gonna be a hot one!

excited for those three too! Seen Sea Girls and Reytons a few times, always great! I’m excited to finally see Manatees, Covasettes and Lottery Winners!

Hoping there’s limited clashes like last year, currently around 8-10 bands a day I want to see!

Very hot! Hopefully dust won't be too much of an issue at a smaller festival. Manatees and Covasettes were both excellent live when I saw them, particularly the latter. The lead singer is very charismatic.

Night Cafe have dropped out which is a shame but always seems to be a couple that do.

  12. Getting more and more excited now, this fest was one of the highlights of my year last year. Who is everyone's top 3 artists they are most excited to see? Mine are: Sea Girls, The Reytons, Everything Everything.

Fingers crossed for no last minute drop outs...

What is the capacity, do you know? What kind of crowd is it?

If anyone has found the updated day-split poster w/ new names, share away!

Capacity is max 1000. Crowd was very friendly last year. Most people are between 20-30yo but there is all ages.

    Here's the new day-splits:

There was similar at the Yard Act set in leftfield, a group of fellas all shouting ‘we all hate Leeds scum’ at the band, who all looked quite baffled by it all. That kind of mindless parochialism just isn’t really appropriate for a festival for me, it’s just shit: black midi can go solidly on my ‘bunch of knobheads’ list accordingly

That kind of chant, in an unironic way, is certainly out of place. The 'we all hate Tottenham' chant is more jovial. I can see your point though, not really the time or place.

I try and separate football from music, because there’s no reason for petty rivalries and nonsense: it’s the summer, it’s festival season, we’re all people, there’s no reason for division.

So Black Midi shouting ‘what do you think of Tottenham/shit’ etc etc at the end of their set just made me think what a bunch of fucking twats they are 🤷🏻‍♂️ And then I look into it a bit and they’re not even rabid arsenal fans, they’re just . . . Well, I dunno. Seems a weird move to alienate a part of your audience for absolutely no relevant reason

Surely most people wouldn't take that serious enough to feel alienated... Most football chants are in jest, I'm sure that was the case here as well.

Currently got tickets for The National day mainly to see King Gizzard as it looks like its going to be their only UK date this year.  Super keen for Kurt Vile and pleased to see Parcels added too. If anybody can point me in the right direction with The National I'd really appreciate it. Tried so many times to get into them but they've just never clicked for me.

Also the last time I went to APE was to The Strokes a few years back and just want to know what has changed? That was an awesome day, 2/3 stages as I recall and then the Jaegerhaus that hosted acts too. Is this still the case? Also does everything else finish when the headliner is on or are there alternatives? Cheers guys

These are my top 5 songs by them (off the top of my head): Bloodbuzz Ohio, Slow Show, Green Gloves, I Should Live in Salt, Gospel.

Boxer is my favourite album by them, hence the large number of songs from that album. Light Years is a beautiful song from their most recent album.

They are an acquired taste and I have to be in a certain frame of mind to listen them. I really connect with so many of the songs, that's what I love about them.

I've had to wait all day to catch up! Just started with something easy like George Ezra. As much as I'm not a fan of his music, the JP is rammed for 2 pm on a Sunday. Why wasn't he put on Other or even on the Pyramid? Some of the placements are baffling.

    He was a secret set

  18. She's not hitting every note but she's still doing well. Stacked setlist. Been saying it a lot this weekend but I'd pay a lot of money to be in that crowd. Nothing but positive vibes.

  19. First half of the Macca set was dull but second half was banging. Loads of classics in there. Dam good fun hearing some of the best songs ever written. Would of loved to be there, even if I had to sit through some of the less exciting moments.
