  1. @Yoghurt on a Stickplease know that i wasnt suggesting that you spent any time laying in the gutter.....! far from it.. My ill judged comment was supposed to reference your observation to detail (and genuine concern) in @guypjfreakfamily photograph... I should have said Rainwater Downpipe Inspector... I sincerely hope no offence was taken.? If i could downvote my own posts i would. Moving swiftly on.... I didnt have the benefit of further education (as so readily displayed in my previous clumsy posts) but do remember shuffling my feet to that particular Tina Charles earworm in Cheeky Pete's, Richmonds finest discotheque... Another Euro pop classic earworm from around that time helps demonstrate the type of folk that inhabited Cheeky Pete's style establishments the world over... and running the risk of insulting you further, i imagine you would be rather like the Icelandic bloke (N0 11)... Dancing to your own tune... I'll get my coat 👀
  2. is that when you started your part time gutter inspection.?
  3. i think this is last years(?) tour rescheduled... I am already ticketed up for Cambridge 😎 Seems a shame the west country boys are not giving you a west country show...

  5. yes. absolutely shocking... a huge let down.
  6. 😂 it was probably because you got your camera out to take another spectular panoramic pic...!
  7. goodness... you post some beautiful photos.!
  8. I mean the actually mouse NOT the tune btw...!
  9. well.... I could get away with last ever festival i suppose because Elton was a full day outside with the absolutely marvellous Beach Boys stealing the show and The Eagles also on the bill.... so a mini festival of sorts... I am still enjoying gigs (knee pain aside) but i quite like the symmetry of it all.. Edit : I am talking bollox of course.. Watching live performance remains a huge part of my life, i cant see me giving that up.. and i really want to experience a different Glastonbury... a sober(ish) one, where i get a head massage, make a staff and just bimble about the fringe stages all evening..
  10. I have publicly said the same.. whilst 2019 was probably one of my favourites, i was absolutely broken... Arthritic knees (left one in particular) have never really recovered. My wife has already said 2019 was her last. We have Bearded Theory for 2022 and that is a gentle stroll in comparison. However, last week NHS confirmed i am on the waiting list for knee replacement and when April comes around (if i am successfully bionic) i just know the adrenaline will be flowing as i get online for my daughters..... Elton John at Wembley stadium in the summer of 1975 was my first ever gig... Maybe Reg on the farm could be my last..??
  11. Maybe i am the only one on the Electronica/Dance thread that cares (i clicked on accidentally) but did Techno Mouse make it.??
  12. Now that was good.... ! An instantly memorable lyric from a band that possibly isnt your fave.... (hope it becomes an earworm 😁)

sadly, my poor joke was deliberate
  14. I'll pitch em up... you knock em out of the park
  15. I did wonder if this thread was going to be some form of confessional... Glad it isnt. I for one, have had several excellent nights seeing Faithless.. sometimes in a field and also, particularly enjoyably, in Brixton Academy. I find that you need to drink a fair amount and commit fully to the occasion to get full enjoyment. A bit like the pantomime...

    How do you feel?

No easy answer to that one @Yoghurt on a Stick.... all you can do is be what it already sounds like you are, a caring son that is there for his Mum.. Im not sure sure that the D word needs either hiding from or fronting up.. She likely knows. My Mum came down from Scotland to tour around the family because she realised what was happening and she wanted to see everyone on her terms... It was an emotional time, that makes me emotional now.. (decades later) We are all Big Girls Blouses at heart.. Take care.

I am no expert, but the King of Covid could lick your face all evening at Sisters of Mercy and it wouldnt show up next day.... If the self same KoC licks your chops on the 7th however....

Wow.! See customer services have stepped up a notch...
  19. If i understand the OP @Jack The Stripper... you have a couple of options** : - your friend could use her festival ticket, turn up with the masses (from wednesday onwards) and go into general camping... - She could travel with you (as i assume you have a CV?) and arrive Tuesday (DO THIS... it is SO worth it..).. Then either : - Pitch her tent next to your CV and stay with you for the duration of the festival - Get in the queue on the Hill of Death Tuesday night (or basically join it at 6am) and get in early on Wednesday am as they open gates ** somebody will let me know if i am talking rubbish

    First Gig Back

Sleeper and Bluetones at Kentish Town forum last night... An excellent intro back.. Both bands looked tremendously happy to be in front of live audiences again and it was a proper good singalong. We are long term Bluetones fans, so happy that it was their night to headline.. Although i did point out to my joyously singing and dancing daughter that she was 5 when they released 'Expecting To Fly', the debut album that they are playing back to fron as a 25th anniversary on this tour.... We did take the opportunity of getting an early afternoon train into London and watched the footie with a bite to eat and far too many beers in a pub over the road beforehand... so probably starting on the sauce well too early for me.. I did wish this morning that i would have paid more attention to the 'Hangover' thread this week... 🥴 For those of you still looking forward to those 'First Gigs back'... Enjoy, it feels like a real move towards normality.
  21. I enjoyed Lizzo on West Holts too...a quite lovely review.
  22. I have been very much enjoying Unforgotten off of Britbox... worth a watch. Brittania III back this week... 😁 The excellent Eleanor Worthington Cox and Nikolaj Lie Kaas will hopefully continue with one of my favourite double acts..
  23. Hope this isnt too much of a setback.. wishing you a speedy recovery
