Rewatching the Terry Hall at the BBC show from Friday night. What a loss.

Would have played the "Covid" Glastonbury as well 🥲

It is, though them headlining against The Stones was funny.

If nothing else is on, and with the earlier finish, I might still go. Generally a fun gig.

I went to that over The Stones 🥴

  3. Will try and go to this if its not too busy.

Will probably come away going well that was not quite Faithless but I had a bit of fun anyway.

Thinking it would be better with a new vocalist. Any attempt to recreate Maxi and it all becomes a bit karaoke for me. Can get away with that stuff for maybe one or two tracks for me but not many more.

Are you saying that in 2023 your Vodafone sim didn't pick up a 5g signal on the farm?  As I certainly did and performance was great, with the only exception being such as when incident described, during massive crowds, which I believe is why it's affected.

I was on a PAYG sim on the farm last year so only 4g max.

Now have a monthly contract but still to pick up 5G on it anywhere in Liverpool ??

  5. O2 is grim only keep it because of my Virgin boosts. When it does work the 5G is great. Swicthed to an esim.

I have a second Vodafone sim that worked better at Glastonbury and when O2 fails (a lot of the time) still haven't found 5g on that though.

If you ever need to get anything out (I post a daily blog) a little walk up to Woodsies and reception is great up there.

I've unfortunately had to defer the Manchester marathon in April until April next year. Still running for Alzheimer's Society, but I just messed up my training plan and have injured my hamstring. Its not recovering right now, so I'm going to focus on strength work and come back stronger next year.

Now to find something to occupy me in the meantime. Suggestions welcome please.

Sad to here. I was looking at Manchester Marathon (Great race I have done it twice before) as well but in November had a heel spur injury knocking me out for two months. Was up to 10 miles as well and ahead of target. Not sure I have it in me physically to do a 5th marathon at my age. Just the thought of putting in all the hard work and not getting to the start line is soul destroying.

  7. Liverpool Half Marathon this weekend. Not trained as much as normal due to injuries. Still got my 10 miler in last weekend.

Nursing myself to the finish line as I am raising money via sponsorship so the finish is vital rather than going for time and more training but coming up injured before the start line.

Bits starting to fail now I am 50.

Be on the tablets Pele advertised before I know it 🥴

  8. Not for me. Wont know half of them but in a strange twist of fate It’s my own Brit awards tonight. I have been doing my own alternative Brit awards since I was a child way back in 1988.

Tonight is the 36th edition of my awards.

New Blog “The 36th annual Faymondo Music Awards”

You can all laugh at the old winners 🤣

On one hand I hope it is a ticket competition, on the other hand I'd really like not to repeat the kind of cheese, cider and chocolate buying madness I descended into last year. But I expect I will again.

I played all these games and Mrs Fay ended up winning on a freebie Vodafone Twitter comp.

Gotta be in it to win it and dont give up.

Thank you! It might be because I am trying to use the iOS app. I copy the url for the festival choice page properly signed in, but when I put it in Distil and check the link it takes me to the sign in page!
I’ll give it a go on my laptop with a Google monitor and try that way - thanks for the tip!

oh. I just went to screenshot it to demonstrate my dilemma and it was correct 😂😂. It must be the auto sign out!

CORRECTION dear lord, yeah it did what I thought it would , Google it is!

I used the google chrome browser on iMac and iPhone to get the places I wanted last year when using distill (Paid version)

Sorry - your missus doesn’t have you in the ball at 6.30am, then she’s not getting places for her mates. No one who doesn’t have to be up at that time is setting their alarm for before 6.30am in case Oxfam drop some places at that time randomly one day - no matter how organised they are or how much they want to go.

anyone who saw that, or got notified, got lucky, and some didn’t.

OK then scrub the two extra places my missus got. Knock my ones off as well at that above time.

I still got in on before the big drop on another 4 separate occasions for friends and family.

    Luck or dedication ?

Whoever I was trying for I was making sure I wasn't logged out of their Oxfam account when possible to make the process as quick as possible.

I had my phone on me at all times (Got one whilst walking the dogs on their lead)

    Paid page checker (Distill)

Hundreds of false alarms with other festivals. At one point there was a slight pattern on the hour of places coming up if I remember correct.

Just passing my advice on for those who will be going down that route this year.

I wasn't doubting your experience but when you said "anybody who wants a space will pick one up this way", that wasn't true last year. Many people were just as organised as you and weren't able to sort it.

Fair enough. Just found it relatively easy to pick up the many spaces we needed and a couple more.

My tips would be you have to be ready at anytime. Have a few people on the go for you. In a couple of cases we got in for a person and paid twice and on one occasion three. Oxfam were very good in refunding the duplicate payment(s)

    Hope everyone gets sorted.

This just wasn't true last year, maybe different this time round, who knows.

It was i got my mate, my neice and nephew all at random times after the second Oxfam "sale" (Separate random places being returned)

I also got a couple of people places when the large 6.30am drop happened. I went upstairs and told my missus and she got two places for people she worked with.

All details on last years thread.

Someone on here posted how to set up a google page checker and I subscribed to the paid alert once the free trial had run out. Got a couple via my iMac which took longer than the one I got on my iPhone as I had to put bank details in and verify. I have apple pay set up on my phone so that transaction was quicker.

All about speed when the alert went off as numerous people on here were also trying that were also successful.

    So 100% true.

  14. I got numerous places for people via Oxfam thanks to the page checker advice given on this forum. Quickest way to complete the process was on my phone via Apple Pay.

My missus also got a few this way.

I reckon anybody who wants a space will pick one up this way. Have to be in it for the long haul though.

    Good luck

    Does it take ApplePay too?

It let me pay by Apple pay for the odd spots that come up after the second "sale" last year. It was the quickest way to pay. I am also very happy to help for others on here.
