Just catching Unknown Mortal Orchestra from Glastonbury on BBC
Reminds me please....... Who is headlining on the Garden Stage, as I feel I need to be elsewhere than Woods
Angel Olsen

Could ??? be a second set from Angel Olsen? I believe EotR originally wanted her to play the Woods. There is precedent, remembering the "secret" second set in the big top by Alabama Shakes (albeit on the same day). Might also ease the crush in the garden on the night UMO (the festival's weakest ever headliner booking imho) are on the Woods (as long as they leak it beforehand, of course). But I'd love it more if it was Explosions in the Sky.
Wouldn't make any sense for it to be AO. If the festival wanted her to Woods that much then she'd be on Woods. I feel like is she's gonna do a secret set it'd be on piano stage

Also my first time at EOTR- the bbc glasto coverage has got me psyched for my first full weekend festival since the pandemic. What’s the shower situation like in general camping? Also what’s the camping vibe in general? Is it raucous or pretty chilled out?
There are showers but queues are long. Camping is very chilled out, lovely vibe.

Some sort of rap sub could be good - Samuel T. Herring is on that Billy Woods/Kenny Segal (and played with them recently) album and has his Hemlock Ernst alter-ego. I am not sure who it would be though and Billy Woods' next date is America in November.
I think maybe wishful thinking on my part it'd be something a bit left field like that, and I don't think there's any precedent for him doing the Hemlock Ernst stuff and Future Islands at the same show haha.Only thing worse than having Future Island headline would be also having singer from Future Islands sub-headline.

When do we start the 2024 thread. I want to get discussing predictions.

Last week I booked a two person twin room at Catelonia Albeniz for £520 which is pretty reasonable

Based off the clashfinder this would be my weekend.
Thursday: Deerhoof > Heartworms > Wilco
Friday: Deliluh/Ursa Major > Blue Bendy > Horse Lords > Daniel Norgren > Oren Ambarchi> Ulrika Spacek > Yeule > Angel Olsen > Panda Bear and Sonic Boom > Yune Pinku
Saturday: Mabe Fratti > They Hate Change > Big Brave > Avalanche Kaito > Moin > Caroline > 75 Dollar Bill > ???/Crack Coud/Charlotte and Bolis/Dungen > Arooj Aftab > Overmono
Sunday: Enys Men with live score > Teke:Teke > Julia Reidy > Algote Ogo > Kara Jackson/Lee Fields > Bar Italia > MC Yallah and Debmaster > King Gizzard > Infinity Knives
Looks absolutely brilliant on paper.

Far as I can tell Mary Elizabeth Remington is the only pullout.
When there's been a secret act before it's usually (assuming they don't pull out) an artist that's about to or has just announced a new album, but they've never been in such an elevated place before even when it was former headliners Wild Beasts.
H Hawkline, Nina Nastasia and Kara Jackson on Talking Heads feels like they're going to be very busy.
Really notable how both GM and EOTR have booked the most talked about new band in Britain and are barely making anything of it, either in press release or in billing. That's surely deliberate.
Who are you referring to with that last paragraph?

Yeah I reckon Caroline will be on Garden, either subbing or third down.

Swans are touring and have a big gap over EOTR.
I'd forgive the weak lineup in a heartbeat if they made that booking.
1. It's not a weak line up
2. Michael Gira is a sexually abusive piece of shit.

I get where you're coming from but I think this is doing EOTR a bit of a disservice.

Will probably just be some DJs/small acts. Line up looks packed already.

So if not Boygenius, we can expect the consolation prizes of Muna and Ethel Cain? Which wouldn't be a bad thing perhaps...
not expecting any act of this size to be added at this point. Neither Muna or Ethel Cain are especially big ofc but reckon any additions will be v small acts.

No, that was "pre-pre-announcement" stage, in that there'll probably be one before the end of the month (which itself would be a couple of weeks earlier than last year) but we'll get a date first.
Will we? I thought they just normally post the second load of names without announcing a date first.

Imagine thinking that either of those line ups were as good/had the depth of EOTR's lol.

I'd love to be seeing them but sadly can't make it. Their latest album is incredible.

Off to Berlin next week. Anyone got any recommendations for the best club(s) to visit. Very in the mood for some techno, if possible of the ambient variety but I don't mind too much.
Looking for somewhere I'll be able to get in to without the risk of being turned away after hours of queuing. A friend said the best thing to do is pre-book tickets which I'm fine doing but the choices are overwhelming.
