  1. This was me as well. We got 2/3 group and are quite upset for our 3rd group that missed out. It does feel like the system this year rewarded people once they got in once to a degree, which i feel mucks up understanding how many used the HOSTS hack versus people like me and you that simply got in once and then got in again. I’m confused still and am hoping you could help me. This Reddit post infers it was not an unused server like you are saying but instead just contacting one of the 5 servers directly: What happened on Sunday, is that See Tickets DNS was only giving out a small number of their webservers/load balancers for Glastonbury ticket sales. ❯ dig glastonbury.seetickets.com @8.8.8.8 ;; ANSWER SECTION: glastonbury.seetickets.com. 94 IN CNAME hosting.seetickets.com. hosting.seetickets.com. 94 IN A 13.87.94.169 This returned a single IP address 13.87.94.169 , which was probably getting hammered by 99% of the traffic. Everyone's queuing. If we lookup a non-existent See Tickets website, what we get to see are the other IP addresses which could maybe serve the See Tickets pages ❯ dig notglastonbury.seetickets.com @8.8.8.8 ;; ANSWER SECTION: notglastonbury.seetickets.com. 600 IN CNAME seetickets.com. seetickets.com. 180 IN A 31.221.2.88 seetickets.com. 180 IN A 31.221.2.92 seetickets.com. 180 IN A 31.221.2.90 seetickets.com. 180 IN A 31.221.2.89 seetickets.com. 180 IN A 31.221.2.91 Now, we have 5 different webservers which might serve us a Glastonbury booking page, if our computer could use those IP addresses instead of the one officially provided. If we think about this in a traditional way, it's like everyone calling the official phone number to try and book tickets and get the engaged tone, vs having 5+ phone numbers to try which are much likely to be less busy, as nobody/not many people know about them. We can then tell our PC to use the new IP address by editing our hosts file 31.221.2.88 glastonbury.seetickets.com And then close/open our browser and see if we have any better results. Which, for many people, they did. The booking page loaded within a couple of minutes and they were able to quickly complete the journey without being kicked from the payment page. From - https://www.reddit.com/r/glastonbury_festival/s/H85lJlqc0C also, earlier in this thread someone quotes Mac instructions that have a very different IP address - - Add this line at the bottom of the file: 167.98.233.90 glastonbury.seetickets.com Which is the correct IP address that was used? The best way to get a company to fix a hack or exploit is to make it as public as possible. I can’t. I nuked my Discord account last night as I just used it for that place and I’m done with them. But it was a PDF written by a mod there and it was on an open channel about ticket tricks (so like this thread) so I’m not sharing secrets anyone can go and see it. It just kind of summarized everything wrong with that community - it’s a few mods and their friends with some snippets of insider information trading in jokes while creating this kind cringe hierarchical community where they think very highly of themselves. As much as people have had complaints at times of moderation here (just, IMO), there’s never been something as bad here as using a ticket hack just for the mods while banning mention of it in the forum itself. They do the same thing with secret sets during glasto, gatekeeping it to private channels. Again, it kind of summarizes everything wrong with the place.
  2. I was like you doubting it until I saw some more info and it’s real. Also, over on the Glastonbury discord all the mods admitted to using it while banning the words “DNS” and “HOSTS” in the chat so regular users couldn’t even mention it to teach others so only the mods and their friends could use the hack. It’s a pretty funny drama happening there but also it confirms it worked - the mods have an open letter confessing to using it. I got in legitimately today and the total cheat tickets are probably a drop in the bucket but I also agree that I hope See fixes this for the resale. If you want See to fix it the best you can do is publish all the details here and on Reddit, Facebook, etc so that everyone can do it. With enough sunlight they will have to deal with it.
  3. I’m suspicious so far because no one is providing proof via any explanation of this “back door” so I’ll presume it’s nonsense until someone posts details. I figured out the coach link before hand this year, it changed the morning of the coach sale, FYI… and it got me nothing - 0/3 of my groups got coach. Same for direct link to general sale as others have mentioned See fixed it this year it got me nowhere. However, I got in on my non-VPN, manual refresh device mid-sale and was then able to get in again using my back button - not immediately - i was taken back to a holding page but I got in again a few minutes later and so got 2 groups. I did not get a 3rd group, I think because instead of using “back” i closed browser and reopened (i was quite flustered.) It’s pretty clear there was a preference somehow that allowed people that got in to get in multiple times that i seemed to be a beneficiary of. But until i see proof of a “back door” i don’t assume it’s true. (And a lot of the Reddit posts clawing “back doors” seem like people trolling).
  4. I’m coming from the perspective that the festival is great as it is, and that the crowd that attends helps with it being great. That the ticket process helps groups of 6 working together I think helps make the crowd better than if it was a ballot or smaller groups. If it didn’t work out for us a few of us would have volunteered, which does work well for smaller groups and individuals.
  5. Why would you attend a festival with a “crowd” you have such disdain for?

    2024 Headliners

Implies to me they know it’s true.
  7. You could be correct here - a competent system would solve this by emailing the deleted people right before deletion, then delete - but I’d be unwilling to bet money that this is a competent system and I don’t know anyone this happened to to ask. I do know that after the first time i verified, I got a few emails saying I was not verified and was going to be deleted until I verified a 2nd time.
  8. I suspect they also got an email saying their registrations were deleted which they ignored at the time and are conveniently not mentioning now. And they then had a full month to register again. In terms of Ticketmaster, it’s pretty clear at least to me in the USA that Ticketmaster has a very large bot problem that it has no idea how to deal with, or doesn’t care about dealing with. Sales are overwhelmingly dominated by resellers which makes every competitive ticketsmaster sale incredibly frustrating for average concert goers. While registration and photo makes Glastonbury somewhat resistant to this, I’d be pretty worried about how people already great at scamming Ticketmaster systems would figure out a way to profit Glastonbury switching to them. Moving it down to 2 tickets per sale is a terrible idea - almost as bad as a lottery (the more likely change coming than changing ticket companies). The vibe of the festival is as great as it is partially because the ticket system rewards large friend groups working together.
  9. Not seen proof yet that it wasn’t. This still seems like user error from the admittedly buggy system that was re-verification. So far it seems like See didn’t randomly delete valid registrations, just that some verifications didn’t go through (mine didn’t at first I had to do it twice). And again, people then had a month to check their registrations and re-register (for free).
  10. I don’t think it’s registration address - registration has nothing to do with billing - anyone can buy tickets - it’s the billing address used at the end of the transaction (which does not have to be lead booker it can be anyone buying the tickets). If the billing address for the person paying is not UK it’s credit card only.
  11. I don’t think it was all Seetickets I think it was mostly user error and a slightly buggy system. I verified and thought I was fine but kept getting warning emails and so I checked and I had to verify a 2nd time. After the regs got deleted I checked and confirmed I was still there. After the registrations were deleted, all these people had 1 month and lots of reminders to check to make sure their registrations were still valid and, if not, to register again. Registration is free this just required their attention and a very small amount of time. For whatever reason seetickets and glastonbury sale seems somehow very resistant to bots and scalpers. I have a feeling that will very much change with Ticketmaster so I hope it stays with slightly incompetent seetickets. I also think it’s good that the system rewards experience and dedication because I think it’s good for a festival everyone loves if a lot of people come back yearly as clearly that’s then part of what people love.

    2024 Headliners

If we presume Emily was talking about the 2nd female act not yet signed when talking about “a really big American artist” (I do) - and we consider that both Rihanna and Pink had tour/activity rumors last week - but Rihanna is both not an American artist by definition (her wiki calls her “a Barbadian singer” and Pink had dates leaked around Glastonbury so I think it’s Pink. Emily claiming she’s excited I don’t think matters. She’d claim she was excited for anyone booked. (Except Arctic Monkeys). Wanting to release the first poster in January instead of a single headliner infers to me that the headliners are weaker, which is further proof to me that it’s Pink.
  13. 2 years ago it was luck - just 6 of us trying and one of us got through and got 1. Last year our group of 12 trying - my memory isn’t 100% but I think the accommodation website sale went “live” about an hour or 2 before the actual sale. Nothing was actually sold in that moment, but the *link* to the sale page was revealed. One of us happened to catch it and spread that link to the rest of our group. (I believe it was caught on efestivals as well and spread here). Our group was refreshing that link instead of the outer page link in the minutes leading up to the sale and that link went *live* a minute or 2 before the outer page went live. Our group had 3 tipis before the sale had even started. So my advice is just like tickets - work with a team of as many as possible and get everyone to show up on day of sale and keep an eye on places like here or discord for any possible slip ups like that that can give obsessives like us an edge. Good luck!
  14. I didn’t notice any difference from last year. If anything the bathrooms were better (doors kept getting stuck and then torn off the hinges late night last year). I never use the showers so can’t comment but my partner did and while she wasn’t thrilled with hot water going out midway through the fest she still was happy to shower daily. There were people monitoring the charging plugs which was nice versus last year when it was a free for all. We pay for the tipis for the pre-assigned location and the security. There’s really no other option for us inside the fence unless we could get hospitality tickets and even then hospitality has far worse location. I mean it’s not glamping - you have to bring in your bedding and everything else just like general camping. And the trip from gate A if you take the coach is brutal. I wrote the fest asking they let us enter through worthy view in future years and I hope they consider it so we can either worthy view park or shuttle bus up there and then hike down… that hike in is brutal and we got caught in that 15 minutes of rain no less!
  15. There is a rumor face value is way higher than that this year - that they went up 3x-4x
  16. If getting from box office should I not bother getting a car pass? I seem to remember last year international people that bought a car pass sometimes had to buy a 2nd one just to reach the box office.
  17. They didn’t release anything that wasn’t already figured out or publicly known for fear of overcrowding which makes that Twitter account pretty useless other than getting info for those that run it. I am hoping this year people realize this and leak directly to the forum or discord.
  18. I would love to see Porridge Radio back as I missed them last year but is there an announcement I am missing? Right now I’m only seeing dates in March and end of July/August.
  19. Does anyone have word on where the bands are possibly going instead? (I don’t mean the gimmicks like Bastille and Mel C I mean the kind of acts one would see at End of the Road like Caroline, Porridge Radio, Yard Act, Sprints.) Whoever booked that stage had great taste and it was a great surprise after the poster drop on who they booked and I’m really bummed if the stage and those acts are just disappearing this year. Like is that booker getting another stage to book?
  20. This is really upsetting to me. I made it there once last year but I loved the lineup and was really counting on it this year to be a place for me and my partner to get away from crowds - that lineup (not Bastille or Mel C everything else) is always the closest to my music taste - I just only made it once last year because I was trying to get to and see so much other stuff. This would really, really, suck it's dispiriting if two years in a row it's just more and more tiny, unique stuff getting taken away.
  21. Is it possible no acts on an AEG tour will do Glastonbury? Because I think Taylor Swift’s current tour is AEG. in terms of both why she’s out this year and maybe also 2024…
  22. Based on the crowds last year I don’t think it was a trickle last year. Whatever they fixed about people sneaking in previous years was very broken this past year, I think.
  23. Last year it was “COACH BAYS ON ROYAL AVENUE, OPPOSITE ROYAL VICTORIA PARK PAVILION, BA1 2NR”
  24. That’s not the poster position of a band too big to sub Glastonbury. I mean look at the acts that are their “equals” on this poster and look at the acts one line above them...
  25. I think he’s misunderstanding something. Of course other festivals can announce before Coachella and a whole bunch have (Shaky Knees, Rolling Loud, In Between Days, Beach Life and a bunch of others have already announced). Some acts playing Coachella are incentivized via large payments to agree to not allow other festivals to announce them until Coachella does or after a certain date. There’s no reason Bonnaroo and Bottle Rocket can’t announce next week with those acts (not) shown as mystery guests - or the date was Jan 6th and that’s passed.
