  1. It would certainly make me more comfortable if you did, as so much of the “peace” coalition has people who very much support Hamas, and who very much do not care about what happens to the Jews of Israel, and who are very much anti-Semitic. So, yes, mentioning you support Israel’s right to exist, that you are against Hamas, that you are not for the murder of Jews living in Israel, yes I would personally appreciate that. (But with your use of the phrase, “open air prison,” I won’t hold my breath.) I’m fairly nervous about Glastonbury this year. There’s a real carelessness in leftist statements on the war, they seem to be completley unaware about anti-semistism, both within their coalition and within themselves. I’m probably going to completely avoid Shangri-La and the newly named “Peace” stage, as I quite like Glastonbury, but am fairly certain some areas of the fest and the acts on it will be drifting into anti-Semitic rhetoric this year as I’ve been watching the whole left do this, and I’d be trepidatious wearing or showing anything that identified myself as Jewish in those areas for fear of being “confronted” by a stranger about “how I feel” about Israel, which, by the way, is anti-Semitic - to see someone recognizably Jewish (wearing a Star of David necklace, for example). and starting an aggressive conversation about Israel with them (which is happening a lot to people in leftist spaces that dare show themselves like that, by the way). I followed the Corbin movie last year and was happy it got reinstated (or was never removed, seemed like it may have just been some confusion). I’m all for these things being discussed, but yes the flags and slogans and even some of these posts and their language do make me a bit uncomfortable and nervous (though I also appreciate the posts here in support). I was, however sad about that Russian DJ (Nina Kraviz) being removed from Arcadia in 2022, though. Because of a whisper campaign about her views. Everyone here seemed fine with that, which I thought was unfortunate. And while I’m also against this man being cancelled for this incident, I’m also fairly nervous about acts making Jewish people very uncomfortable or even feel unsafe with carelessly aggressive rhetoric, which makes it hard for me to want to petition the festival to get him back.
  2. Yes, I was there in 2023 for Skindred—>Ho99o9 as well as Empire State bastard and was happy with all (though Skindred won me over even though I was waiting for Ho99o9). Someone who gets inside information on here speculated earlier that Shangri La getting a shakeup could mean they were removing Truth Stage in the name of crowd control reasons, is why my concern.
  3. Concerned an Earache band (Skindred) on Avalon is further confirmation that Truth stage is no more. Comparing Williams Green to an extra 50 a ticket feels very high considering most of those bands were playing for very little money if not just tickets. If Truth is now gone this year it’s hard not to see the fest cutting WG and now Truth as creative and not just financial decisions (as they were 2 of the few small band/rock stages).
  4. So first WG and now Truth? Their solution 2 years in a row to bottlenecks from a stage is to remove the stage and all the entertainment that plays on it? If so, RIP Glade 2025…
  5. I don’t agree that the lack of buzz is the repeat bookings so much as it’s the lackluster pyramid stage lineup. I actually think the other stages did pretty great this year, considering budget limitations and other festival lineups - it’s the pyramid that’s seriously lacking and not just the top line. How much more popular is Janelle Monae since she headlined west holts? Same for Little Simz? Or Burna Boy since he was mid-afternoon Other stage? Or LCD since they headlined Other? Keane last headlined acoustic. Same for Paul Heaton. I think Cyndi Lauper’s last appearance was acoustic as well. And Shania Twain only had one hit album in the 90s making her an underwhelming Legend choice. PJ Harvey with her newer material would be better as a Woodsies headliner at this point. We lost no one from our group because of the lineup, but most of our group spent all of last Glastonbury Sunday at the Pyramid. This year we just have some scattered acts we want to see there, like any other stage. It’s the pyramid acts that usually give that kind of excitement and spectacle, and it’s very much missing this year versus previous years. I do wonder if a less attended pyramid stage all weekend is going to lead to even more overcrowding than we normally have seen the last 2 years in the other areas. And if there will be much lower BBC ratings for their festival broadcasts.
  6. I presume acts now give themselves a day to get into or out of the UK so i think these dates rule them out as much as I’d love it - similar I think Doja Cat is out for this reason (and Heart).

    2024 Headliners

It’s not, though. Most of those people I recognize and are not Nazis, except in a “everyone I dislike is a Nazi” kind of way. And most of the “proof” they are Nazis is cherry picking one quote out of context. I don’t want to deep dive back and forth because this is the headliners thread and I’m pretty sure Grimes isn’t headlining Glastonbury but also didn’t want to let this continue without any pushback.

Is there enough demand in the UK for her to play a stadium? I’m pretty sure there is not that level of demand in the USA.

Is Dua “stadium-level?” She’s probably “most streamed”… Only Coldplay of the 3 assumed headliners count as stadium-level, and they’re a band not a solo artist.

    2024 Headliners

it's not too hard to amend this rule/booking-ideology to "rock acts or young up and comers headline the pyramid friday night" and it works better - and the exceptions could be considered, "act that was only available for friday that year"
  11. It’s just the end of massive acts at micro venues. Rabbit Hole was great so long as correctly sized acts were playing there which was most of the time. And the secret part the same - I think you could get in so long as you queued before the popular times.
  12. Hozier played last year. I wasn’t there but was sent a photo by someone who was. I’m not sure it’s meant to be great entertainment more kinda trippy interactive weirdness from how my friends described it and it’s not piano bars fault people queue for hours for a tiny capacity venue.
  13. Same here I didn't think I knew a single song until I just searched her on YouTube. I do recognize 2 songs (the ones mentioned) but I still would have thought Sheryl Crow has more hits (but YouTube view counts prove me wrong as Shania's top 2 songs are 3x-5x more views than Crow's top 2). It's a great trick to get an act to agree to a mid-day slot who may otherwise balk. I was very happy to see Cat there. While Cat was a vibe shift, Twain would be a shift in when their biggest songs hit. Diana Ross & Cat Stevens are 60s/70s, Dolly 70s/80s, Kylie starts in the 80's - Twain's big hits seem to be late 90s. Stevie Nicks or Cher would be more consistent in terms of when the big hits start (even if tons of people may only now know "Believe" by Cher from 1998).
  14. A single user with a previously successful track record but who does not want to be named in a community that somehow thinks their words can’t be read by anyone on the internet claims the legend is Shania Twain and that this is coming from someone that would know. This feels like the “Roxy Music” of this year - a legend that makes no sense getting placed in the conversation because of one in the know person that’s probably wrong in some way. (Like, maybe Shania is booked but not for the legend - she feels to me more like a Sheryl Crow or The Chicks placement than legend). In an interview this year Emily was saying how the legend should maybe be the fourth name on the top of the poster - I have a hard time believing she was saying that with Shania Twain in mind. Then again I thought Pulp were a lock to play this year so what do I know?
  15. If they don’t cancel the tickets acquired this way, everyone on this thread and elsewhere will be trying it because if there’s no punishment it’s shown to be as valid a method as any other (it’s then the same as VPNs and auto-refreshers, as Dean says). I’ve been thinking about the people typing, “but wouldn’t you do it as well?” Yes, I would have done it. The difference between you and me is if I got the info privately, I would not have shared it immediately for fear I was passing on something that did not work (or worse a scam) - but once I knew it worked I would have immediately spread the word here (or as of a week ago I would have spread it in the Discord where it turns out I could not have because the cretins banned users ability to type about it so they could keep it to themselves). And yes, if it works in the resale I promise to rush back here as quick as I can to alert this thread (as I still have people to get tickets for). I’m disappointed in everyone who used this method and didn’t do that.
  16. I can’t tell you specific names or something, but there's been a lot of anecdotal stories written on this thread as well as Reddit of people selling “guaranteed” tickets that was this method. I’ve been reading enough of them that I’m assuming at least some are true.
  17. I see your point, and I’ll add that if I could get pointed to a single Reddit post from before or even during the sale, or if it was allowed to be posted on the Glastonbury Discord and it was, or it was posted here, I’d be agreeing with you. I get that you’re saying that someone with enough network knowledge could work it out, which makes it “public,” but I think we both know that the vast majority of people that used it did not work it out for themselves and instead had it slipped to them or bought it - but I”m repeating myself so I’ll relent for the day. 🙂 I’m happy for everyone that has tickets regardless.
  18. But wasn’t that on the public facing internet? By being posted here? This was information sold and distributed privately, so the average obsessive had no access - the Discord you are in didn’t actually have the info posted, it was likely just passed to you in private message while it was banned on the public channels to discuss. That’s a huge difference and makes this about elitism and ticket touting versus just rewarding the most obsessive people. (And, yes, I think I’m the only one calling for tickets to be cancelled, and I wasn’t here in 2012, but I probably would not have for the above reason.) As for me using multiple devices and refreshing, it’s an interesting debate but it seems like a big stretch - I think there’s an obvious difference between refreshing or trying a VPN and buying advice to access an unauthorized server to buy tickets, but we all get our opinions and it’s not up to us to decide. You are trying to make a thing of me “admitting” this on social media - if this other method had actually been on social media, I wouldn’t have cared. To me, it was the selling and the hiding that makes it a problem. This is about “fairness,” aka the reason the sale was pushed back 2 weeks. As well as touting - the hidden nature makes it unfair, and that the method was sold to others makes it ticket touting. Those are things the fest seems to care about a lot more than refresh and multiple devices.
  19. Older but not mentioned on this thread - two reports of Bicep self-confirming. https://x.com/theglastothingy/status/1723103025378546096?s=61&t=ahrOoQSSc-oKtEghLqq1UA they just headlined west holts in 2022. Where would they go this time?
  20. Based on what smarter than me people wrote in this thread, it was a server not meant to be used, so all the tickets bought fraudulently should be evident as they were all bought from the same (backup? Private?) server. Proving that the other members of the ticket group understood the buyer was using an unauthorized server to get the tickets I agree can be proven only by God and probably MI5, who should absolutely be enlisted. 😉 My hands were shaking so violently when I was typing in the credit card both times it was frankly embarrassing for a grown adult human.
  21. Oh wow! Thanks for the clarification. I’ve been so busy being annoyed by the server exploit people were selling access to I didn’t mention how I did. 16 of us. All using different strategies, some multiple devices, some just one, our group is located anll over the world. Only one got to a reg screen Thursday but they crashed out. Sunday only I saw a reg screen of the 16, I never have in 4 prior sales. I was using 3 devices, two on VPN using auto-refresh (neither saw a thing) and my laptop (my fastest device) using no VPN that I was manual refreshing every 2 seconds. My laptop was the one that got through. After I bought for my group I held down the back button to go back a bunch of pages, went back to a holding page and got in again about a minute or two later. After buying for my second group I stupidly closed my browser and re-opened it, and never saw a reg screen again (not sure that’s connected but I now wish I tried using Back again - but I was frenzied).
  22. Someone else mentioned the Discord as having this exploit and I just want to clarify - If you wanted to know about this ticket exploit the LAST place you would have wanted to be for the sale was that Discord. The mods banned mention of the terms HOSTS and DNS in order to stop users from spreading to each other so they themselves could use it and not their community members. As I’ve seen no evidence of mods deleting this or any other information like this here, this is a much better place for people to pick up stray info like that than there, a place that literally censored users from being able to share it.
  23. The difference is that this was about accessing an unauthorized server and the information on how to do so wasn’t available on the public facing internet anywhere, unlike previous ticket “tips and tricks.” And it’s become common knowledge that this information was then sold to others, and the festival is known to be against their tickets being overcharged for like this. And it’s strange to put unfair in quotes, as if it’s an absurd concept, when the festival just moved the ticket sale back two weeks in the name of fairness. And this isn’t the difference between tech savvy people getting tickets over luddites. This was an exploit discovered through unknown means, then copy and pasted (and often sold) to possibly thousands of other people who were just as dumb about tech as the next person. I won’t be convinced that it’s fixed until a sale happens that proves it’s fixed (so not until April). And I think this is a big enough deal that people should contact Seetickets and the festival and request all tickets using that server (that should not have been in use) be cancelled. I think everyone complaining about this or asking for a ballot has tickets (including me) so trying to frame this as “people without tickets crying” is incorrect.
  24. It’s interesting to me that people are bothering to create and spread false versions of the “hack” or “tech loophole” with a fake, more legitimate IP address than the one actually used (I also saw this happen on Reddit). It suggests to me that there are people that are concerned about the IP address they used and are trying to misdirect now.
  25. As stated by others smarter about this than me, it was an ip of a server not intended to be part of the sale, and so I think counts as “unauthorized access to computer material.” I think that’s enough to justify cancelling all tickets bought with a illegally accessed server, and I hope others write to Glastonbury and Seetickets to request this as it will also stop attempts like this going forward. I agree with everything else you typed. The reason I think this is an exception is because it’s elitist (it wasn’t on any public facing internet before the sale) as well as profit centered (people sold access to the modification).
