Has anyone here got the coach from London before? We got Thursday tickets  and I know I'm incredibly lucky to be going but I have mixed emotions about missing the Wednesday for the first time ever!

Just wondering in people's experiences how long the coach drive is and then how long to queue to get in etc.? Our coach is at 5am, thankfully early!

I have done London coach on both Weds & Thurs before.

Both super easy and efficient. Think Thurs will be better traffic wise as a big chunk of people will already be on sight + the early start will help even further.
If memory serves me right, the journey is about 4-4.5 hours (if all goes well & only 1 services stop).

As you say, Thursday can feel like you’ve missed a bit, but honestly once you get there that all goes out the window. Plus you are a bit less knackered by the Monday having got an extra night in a proper bed.

Also Ped Gate A queue, which is where all coach drop offs go, I have always found a breeze. Queue moves very swiftly from Weds lunchtime onwards once the initial bunch have gone in.

  2. Did anyone grab a Houghton presale ticket yesterday?
I got the link and was really tempted but couldn’t afford to fork out such a sizeable chunk this close to Christmas and post-Glasto ticket sale.

For anyone interested the main sale is due to be early 2023 according to the Comms and attached are the prices for next year.

Anyone been to beams yet? I went on Saturday for the first time.

Interested to hear what people think of it. I enjoyed myself and thought it was a nice space but don't think the sound or visuals come close to Printworks.

I am heading to Beams tomorrow for Honey Dijon. Looking forward to it. Always keen to try new venues.

I am not a big fan of Printworks as I find it really soulless & getting the right spot is really difficult. Hoping Beams doesn't have the same issue.

This will be my first time out for a proper dance since Houghton so ready to blow off those cobwebs 🕸️

Also promises "big singalongs and birthday party vibes" which seems to narrow the options somewhat.

My gut reaction was Kool and The Gang, but they're in the US so I'm stuck for ideas.

Same with Nile Rodgers and Chic. Pretty active on the circuit and seem to fit the brief. But alas they are in the US too.

Any idea who the Saturday night secret surprise headliner is? First time at Shambala, looking forward to it with Oxfam.

Ohhhhh this is news to me. Where did you hear about the secret?

Heading as a punter rather than a worker but will keep an eye out for you all in your Oxfam hi-viz.

Hope everyone has a great one and the weather holds out nicely for us all 🥰

Some of you surely must be going to the best small/medium sized festival I've been to.

I am going for the 2nd time. Last attended in 2016 and really enjoyed it.

Hoping this nice warm weather sticks around as a non-welly/walking boot festival is always better in my mind.

As someone who got to see Sister Sledge & Anoushka Shankar headline last time I went, I have to say I am a tad disappointed with the line-up as recognised barely any names. But maybe that is more telling of my musical taste than their line-up.

Also I am not naive enough to not realise that Covid cancellations will also have had a huge hit on budgets for bookings and the like. So fingers crossed I find something new on the line-up to enjoy long after the festival has finished.

Overall really like their general message and ethos which is one of the main reasons for returning.

  7. I overheard two boys in their 20s talking about using the compost toilets.

Boy 1 said "mate, I've reached a new low. But don't tell anyone else ok."

Boy 2 agreed not to say anything.

Boy 1 "I was absolutely bursting so had to go. Only once I had finished my poo did I realise I didn't have anything to wipe with. So... I'm not proud of this but I had to use some floor paper."

Boy 2 " YOU USED SOME MISCELLANEOUS BOG ROLL OFF THE TOILET FLOOR!" "That is a step too far. Not sure I can ever look you in the eye again".

  8. This notice on their website is very bizarre as according to Trainline, National Rail & Thameslink there are trains back to KGX up until gone midnight. One of which we are booked on.

So either all 3 train companies have failed to update their info & are letting people book on non-existent trains or Knebworth site is wrong.

I think it could well be the latter and the info is out of date. Maybe that was the plan originally but surely after seeing how many people are going to attend & will need transport away they have scrapped early train finishes and stuck some additional on.

If it isn’t the above, then we are well and truly stuffed & so will loads of other people. There will just be carnage in Stevenage.

I am travelling from London and have no idea what time my coach is, I e mailed see tickets and they told me I would find out closer to the time. My mate booked my ticket for me and both of us have looked through our e mail history and none of the e mails either of us received had a time on them and because it was booked in October 2019 I cannot remember the time it was booked for.

In previous years when I’ve got to the London coach it had the time on the email titled “Glastonbury Coach Package Deposit Notification

    It opens with:

    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

A ticket and coach package has been paid for you to attend GLASTONBURY 2016 at Worthy Farm, Pilton-Somerset.

The deposit for registration number XXXXXXXXX was paid for under booking reference XXXXX on Thursday 1st October 2015

The coach package you have been booked on is LONDON RETURN TRAVEL (DEP 06:00 RET 07:00)

  10. SGP have today shared this

    image.thumb.png.ca3bb024b87e1b1fb1b88df36f3a1236.png

I think it’s pretty risky on your first year back.
I think it would be nice to share some smaller / lesser known acts so people can check them out beforehand & build up some more fans.

Maybe keep the headliners & subs a secret.

As I had to give up my ticket I am intrigued to see how this all plays out.

  11. I have lost count how often me and my friend's have listened to Art Department 2011 essential mix.

Not necessarily the best one but my favourite by a country mile.

It is the go to music we put on when we come back from an event and no one can be bothered to sort the music.

It reminds me of Ibiza so much and I will never tire of playing it.
