    2024 Headliners

Olivia to headline? Dates i'd say mean she's at the festival regardless Following the Billie route of successful first Other Stage and then massive second album to propel to the big slot. Young female headliner + I'd argue her second album is having a bigger initial impact than Happier Than Ever. Note the mentions of Glasto in all her interviews recently as well. I think she may be subbing, but there's reason enough there to put her at the top

    Olivia Rodrigo

A Milwaukee arena has said details at 9am... so assuming it will be 3pm UK time announcement.

Secured within 5 minutes in Cardiff, got exactly the seats we could have hoped for. Absolutely over the moon with that

Is Cardiff doing a waiting room? and if so, how does that work, is that on both AXS and Ticketmaster?
  5. I've heard boygenius for this, so presuming they are one of @Mezhyp1 potential co-headliner's, hard to place their size since Phoebe's increased popularity.
  6. Why are you twisting what people are saying? The fact is a lot of this forum and the UK as a whole has supported non-english music. It was a delight to watch Rosalia go from playing Somerset House, Brixton and then the O2... she has worked hard to break into the UK market including a well received slot on the John Peel stage. I don't think one person has criticised Bad Bunny or said he's not a huge artist. The fact is he isn't huge here in the UK, like many people have already told you, he's made no effort in this country and gets zero radio play. No one is saying he shouldn't or can't play Glastonbury, same as Blackpink, just that if they were to be booked they wouldn't headline. And as Matt just mentioned, that's viewpoint held over here by everyone, it's not really a debate. Foals are supporting Paramore on tour but would headline here, Arctic Monkeys and The 1975 don't headline American festivals etc. Sometimes there just isn't crossover. It works both ways and we don't kick off saying America have a narrow viewpoint because they refuse to give our artists a bump up to headline.
  7. MIA on twitter kicking off because Field Day have dropped her. Presuming the announcements are coming soon.
  8. Yeah two main stages and a line of tents of various sizes. There's a few installations and smaller boutique areas that reminded me of Glasto, they also have a dedicated dance area similar to the Glade or perhaps Silver Hayes but in terms of scale its definitely set up like Reading with a lineup that feels more in line with Glasto but much smaller.
  9. I've been to Coachella in 2016 and really enjoyed it, saw some acts admittedly I've never had the chance to in the UK such as Ice Cube bringing back together NWA - however headliner at the time was Guns N Roses who you are saying is a safe booking for Glasto? and yes at Coachella I got to see acts like Last Shadow Puppets and Wolf Alice at tiny stages with small crowds compared to here in the UK But on the flipside - Glasto gets those big american acts in much lower placements here such as LCD Soundsystem, Halsey and lets not forget Glastonbury has a dedicated dance area after hours that features world renowed acts such as Calvin Harris and Chemical Brothers that you can enjoy alongside the main Pyramid bill rather than instead of it. I've been to both and surely if you have to, you have to admit they are nothing like each other - they're festivals but have completely different audiences, demographics etc. Glastonbury is incomparable, Coachella is more aligned with a glitzy version of Reading especially with its similar layout. Also a lot of people on this forum me included have praised Coachella for having 2 international headliners.

    Future headliners

Whilst they may not be blockbuster bookings to the extent of Kendrick, Paul or Elton. Dua, Fender and 1975 are great live acts that perform really well and I've seen all 3 in recent years and come away surprisingly impressed. Plus you can guarantee all three will rise to the occasion. They also all seem to get the significance of a Glastonbury headline slot and will up their game accordingly. Just see Fender this year or how well 1975 stepped up for their reading slots for example
  11. Two predominantly non-english speaking headliners at Coachella is a big moment. Deserves applauding. Adore Frank personally, Blonde is an incredible record. If he actually shows for the set it will be a coup for the festival.
  12. Saw AM at Reading for the first time last year, something just felt off and the crowd didn't really seem into it / expected more - I liked it but later on felt cold about it and wouldn't say it felt memorable or as momentous as I was hoping. Saw Guns N Roses three times so far, all times the current iteration. Twice at Coachella 2016 as I thought the band would implode shortly after and wouldn't get a chance to see a reunited Axl and Slash. Axl's foot I think break took some of the shine off so was glad to see them play London Stadium in 2017 which as others have said was superb. Axl's vocals strong each time I've seen them and they put on a great show, however, when he's sick or not feeling it, it is very evident as seen by the clips over the last few years.
  13. If you're referring to my previous comments I never criticised Halsey and plenty of people have commented enjoying her music. My opinion on whether she's a good artist, I've seen her three times and think she puts on a stellar live show is completley seperate from my opinion on whether I think she will draw a crowd. I've not said she's not big enough by any metrics I've just said that even though she did headline Reading she did to the smallest crowd of the weekend. And at previous appearances at glastonbury she's not pulled a crowd. I'm sure when booking acts they take the fact they've previously played to a small capacity of what the stage can hold will be taken into account. Let's wait and see, would love her to headline the other hopefully against Guns N Roses but I'm just offering why I think she won't with reasoning.
  14. That's the thing right there - Europe & The States, yeah without doubt. But here in the UK she's just not a ticket shifter at festivals. Has a big dedicated fanbase of her own, with some recogniasble hits hence why she's sold out the O2 - but at Glastonbury she's never commanded a decent crowd and even as recently as last year at Reading/Leeds she didn't either. I'm not saying she's not big enough / good enough - I'm just saying she's proven in the UK not to have the pull she does in America and Europe which is the same for many UK acts overseas such as Kasabian in their prime, Foals or even Arctic Monkeys as recent as AM. Which brings on to Paolo who like him or not is a massive ticket seller in the UK hence his sold-out UK tour and large crowds at yes admittdley home turf of TRNSMT but also Isle Of Wight and I'm sure Latitude. Not saying he will or should headline the Other but its a lot safer bet to pull away crowds than Halsey would be... at Glastonbury.
  15. As mentioned before, Halsey just doesn't bring a crowd at UK festivals. Her other stage slot in 2017 had a crowd in the low hundreds and from all accounts her Reading set wasn't rammed either. Whilst I can see her playing I think she'd be an Other sub as she's not gonna draw many away from any of the rumoured Pyramid headliners
  16. Looks like Bon Iver is becoming hopefully more of a certainty. Does this make Jamiroquai more or less likely though?
  17. They were pretty pally at Coachella in 2016. Walked past us in an exclusive tour jacket from the band towards the VIP area ahead of their set.
  18. Not saying she won't but Halsey's performance on the Other stage back in I think 2017? had an extremely low turnout, don't think it reached the sound desk let alone more than a few rows back
  19. Surely Paolo Nutini, Fred again... and Stromae all considered very likely with that. Would also love 070 Shake

Yep, the standard edition hasn't really stuck with me yet, a lot more on the 3am version has had an instant reaction. Would've Could've Should've is for me easily the best track after 2 listens through of the whole record.
  21. PGTIps

    Arctic Monkeys

Exactly this, really been enjoying the record and would love to hear it in full with an orchestra. Would be a special experience. In a stadium... I think it's going to be interesting, especially considering the reception the latest material got at Reading for instance, who even turned their nose up to the pre AM material that wasn't a chart hit.
  22. PGTIps

    Taylor swift

Well why would she even draw attention to it, like you said Prince etc. used to do it all the time
  23. PGTIps

    Taylor swift

Could be incorrect but didn't Taylor specifically clarify this week that the album is completely new material. Maybe she said this ahead of time anticipating the comparisons to Lover etc coming up in discussion post release.

    Dua Lipa

Also went O2 last night. What a performance, really taken her live show to that next level. One of the best Pop performances I've seen in a long time. Got to be a future headliner without a doubt, would also agree with Dua over Billie if not just for the fact I don't know if there's much difference between Billie's other stage set and what her headline set will offer.
  25. @Ken19 doesn't have to share his information with us, just because he's been rightfully critical of some of the festivals practices and behaviours doesn't mean he's going to troll.
