  1. That just shows how utterly clueless you are. ADUG bought City for £300 million. It is then believed Mansour invested £700 million of his own money into players and infrastructure. So that was an investment of £1 billion. Mansour made that back by selling 10% to Chinese investors and American investment firm Silverlake. City are now valued at £2.6 billion and Mansour owns 90% of that. That's a profit of £2.34 billion on his investment. It has nothing to do with sportswashing. No one in this country gave a fuck what Abu Dhabi got up to before Mansour invested in City. If it was sportswashing, it has clearly not worked, as it has only brought attention to things that happen in Abu Dhabi.
  2. There's no difference what so ever. They are investing money in both entities to make a profit. Both are investments for financial gain. What difference does it make whether they have a controlling interest or not?
  3. It's exactly the same. The Saudis are pumping money in as a financial investment, just like they invest in all the other companies. It is then up to the consumer/fan to decide whether they part with their cash or take the moral high ground. Back to football, Foden is easily England's best player.
  4. You're a cheeky northern monkey.
  5. Did you post that on Facebook?
  6. Because it's a political question rather than one about kicking a bad of air between a set of posts. You could ask the same question of families watching Marvel movies or kids using Facebook.
  7. How are you improving society?
  8. I thought this thread was about football, not about politics. Do you purchase anything from the list I posted above regarding companies PIF have stakes in, or use Facebook? If you do, then you can answer your own question.
  9. Just for balance here is a list from amnesty International of human rights issues from a perticular country. Right to health. Excessive use of force. Freedom of assembly. Right to life and security of the person. Rights of refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants. Women’s rights. Rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people. Sexual and reproductive rights. Torture and other ill-treatment. Death penalty. Arbitrary detention. Unlawful killings of civilians. International human rights mechanisms and treaties.
  10. Absolute load of shit. Do you actually believe that is true?
  11. No chance what so ever that City are united with all the other clubs and against this take over.
  12. Just a small list of companies the PIF has a stake in: Uber GE Lockheed Martin Live Nation Boeing Facebook Citigroup Disney BP How many of you human rights activists are boycotting all these companies??
  13. He melts if he goes any further north than Watford Gap.
  14. To all the Newcastle fans, I sincerely hope you enjoy the ride. Pay no attention to all the bullshit and bile which will be flung your way.
  15. Nope, not one little bit. We have been through this a million times before. I did not give a fuck then and I still don't give a fuck now. Do you buy any clothes from sweat shops in the far East? Do you buy petrol which originated from states who make profits made from the exploitation of human rights. If so, does that not make you feel a little sick?
  16. City will walk the league. Foden is amazing.
  17. It was a tongue in cheek comment, to another Internet clown, who has probably turned into a human rights activist, because the team he supports no longer wins everything. I am a Manchester City fan. I supported them long before the takeover and if I live longer enough, will support them long after the current regime has gone. Now we have spoken long and hard on here regarding teams links to funny money. All the top teams have those links. Yet, it still only seems to be an issue with City. As for Taunton Town, I still want to see live football regularly. I will probably go to more away matches this season than ones at the Etihad. Not sure where you would want me to go down here. Would rather give my cash to Taunton that to Bristol.
  18. City have had Sours, Leicester, Chelsea away, plus Arsenal at home. We have Liverpool away next week. I was surprised at Chelsea yesterday, but not by City. When I seen the teams, I expected City to win. Chelsea just reverted to long balls and did not really offer much. It will be close this year, as I expect Chelsea and Liverpool to make small fry out of the lesser teams. United will be far too inconsistent. Their players are nowhere near as good as the media would have you believe and the manager is not good enough.
