Yes, in 2022 (having done campervans or caravans for many years, but as my ticket was bought in the resale I was too late to rent a van).  I'm an old git and was going to be coming by coach and knew I couldn't carry my other stuff as well as a tent and something to kip on.

As @Mich1268 said I regularly visited to ensure I could get something.  So first up I paid for a bell tent in Sticklinch and then set myself a page monitor.  Thankfully during the day at work if it went off I could pop up the page and see what they had on offer, it did take a number of visits before I got myself a 4 person bunkpad (which I chose as that included bunkbeds, so all we needed to bring were sleeping bags).  The date I got one was Friday, April 22, 2022 1:30 PM

As for facilities - they had actual flushing toilets, with a queue system which was most of the time really well managed (someone standing by the front of the queue directing the next person when one was available), plus other folks who were checking they were OK and even cleaning or replenishing bog roll - honestly it was the nicest loos I've seen on the farm in nearly 40 years.  They also had quite a few showers - pretty busy at peak times, clearly many of the attendees are scrupulously clean these days, but later in the day would be easy to nip in.  They had a handful of food and drink stalls (but I believe less than WV), the ones that did a fancy coffee or more sophisticated breakfast had a bigger queue, but if you wanted a bacon butty and brew there was a very small queue.  No bar in Sticklinch, that year there was one in Carmageddon, so not sure how far it was to the nearest last year as that had gone.

    Cheers!

What's the deal with entrance, if you don't come in a car to the dedicated car park - through the main site then into Sticklinch?

  2. A few Sticklinch questions (apologies if I'm recycling stuff that has been asked previously):

    • Anyone done it? (the basic 'podpad' option). Worth it? It didn't look too far from where we camped last year, location wise
    • Is it a tall order getting one after the resale, assuming they go back on sale?
    • What do you get facilities wise, few showers & a food stall or two?
  3. The first page of this thread has just brought back some memories - there was a time when the strong rumour for 2017 was Daft Punk, The Stone Roses, Radiohead

    🙃

    Hi Ian,

Congratulations, you have won a pair of tickets to Glastonbury Festival 2024 as you purchased a block of Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar and scanned your Co-op membership card between 6-28th November 2023.

    Amazing, well done!

  5. I'm a little confused.

I was buying copious amounts last year (to no avail), and they did draw every month. This time it says the below on the website/T&C's - is it only running this month, or is that gonna be amended every month between now and next June?

  6. It's a weird feeling this time, the worst luck we've ever had - 3 people from 28 successful. Nobody from the other 25 saw anything other than the holding page.

I was unsuccessful last time but when it came to the resale there was only 8 of us left. I got incredibly lucky thanks to a kind soul on here. This time it just feels next level, so brutal.

Pretty deflated in all honesty. I've been to 9 on the bounce but this time it does feel like a bridge too far. A shame and I will still try in April but I feel beaten at this point - especially after hearing some of the stuff that went on in the sale. Grim

  7. It's hard to imagine the reports are too far off. I'd say they've either got one of the acts wrong or it's right, and Emily is just turning down the noise with a carefully worded statement

  8. It is a weird one. Their first 3 records are timeless, for me, the rest very hit and miss.

2011 I opted for The Chemical Brothers but I went in 2016, and it was undeniably amazing. Their 2005 set is one of the sets I enjoy watching the most, from the festivals before I started attending.

I think now, from a Glastonbury perspective, it just feels a very lazy/easy booking. Generally, their new stuff/shows feel very different. It's becoming hard to take Chris seriously running around dressed like that approaching 50 as well, but that's just me.

Having said the above, I won't hesitate to go and watch them at next year's festival if I get a ticket and there isn't a bad clash. I think ultimately, they are an easy target for people as well.

  9. My anxiety levels feel low compared to other years, and I'm not really sure why

Quite a few of our usual groups have dropped out, for a variety of reasons. I think the stress I had between November and April last year; buying endless amounts of cheese, then getting one in the resale has worn me out. Just more resigned to 'what will be will be' now I think

Oh dayum, was going to go dublin aswell for the thursday 😥

I managed to get a ticket off Twickets and get a day working there. I'm doing it on minimal sleep across 2 nights, needs must.

Had to be there for this

It's essentially going to be like the break between AM/TBHC and TBHC/The Car, nothing out of the ordinary?

    Much longer I'd say.

'Indefinite hiatus' is the line I've been given

Would you be able to elaborate on this?

if it’s true then I may have to get myself to Dublin this Thursday!

Can't really say where it's come from but I've just spent £250 on 24 hours in Dublin this coming Thursday, having already seen them 6 times this tour, so take that for what you will.

I had reason to believe it was the case anyway but I received info from someone extremely well connected in their circle. Never say never in years to come, money talks obviously. But from what I've been told, they're done for the foreseeable. Alex and Matt will be active, but not as Arctic Monkeys
