  1. I don't know man... Don't think Liam, Skrillex and Raye as the biggest names will satisfy many people.
  2. But they're not paid that much at Glasto. It's a well known fact that Glasto fees are way smaller compared to other festivals: "In 2017, Glasto organiser Emily Eavis previously revealed artists get paid less than 10% of what they are typically paid by other festivals." (Metro) Coldplay were paid only £200,000 for one of their previous headline shows.
  3. F*ckin hell. I've never said they are impossible for Glastonbury. I've mentioned several times Glastonbury and Coachella are different level and we should not compare them to other festivals. Coldplay love Glasto and wouldn't be surprised if Chris Martin was already pitching a tent there and did the show for free (just a joke of course). I swear he's showing up there as a special guest every year. So no, it's not just a matter of money and Coldplay ARE impossible for Sziget. More "gnagnagna blabla" incoming 😉
  4. Re EDM, just to clear it up... There are 16 electronic acts (mostly DJs) on the lineup: Fred Again.., Martin Garrix, Four Tet, ARTBAT, Richie Hawtin, ANOTR, Honey Dijon, Don Dolla, Overmono, Nia Archives, Argy, Eris Drew & Octo Octa, Ellen Allien, Fideles, Chloé Caillet and AMÉMÉ. And then there are 21 acts of other genres: Sam Smith, Stormzy, Louis Tomlinson, Big Thief, Fontaines D.C., Aurora, Azahriah, L’Impératrice, Crystal Fighters, grandson, Zoe Wees, Joker Out, Goldband, Joesef, Yard Act, Warhaus, Nova Twins, Blondshell, Wednesday, DAGNY and Pip Blom. And 4 acts that mix electronic music with other genres: Becky Hill, MEUTE, LIBERATO and Joost. There was definitely a large number of electronic acts in the first announcement but I don't think it's such a surprise when you have 2 dedicated EDM stages and your second biggest stage host DJs in the night as well. I feel like the lack of 'bands' in the top positions is more alarming but I guess it's not such a big deal considering most of the solo artists will perform with a band as well...
  5. Yeah, Liam will defo sell better in the UK and Ireland but Mumford will sell better anywhere else.
  6. and Mumford are not huge? I know they haven't done much post-Covid in terms of releasing new music but still, their last album was number one in the US and Canada and was top 3 in most of Western Europe. Last year, they managed to headline Rock Wercter, Mad Cool and Austin City Limits. I was just reflecting the fact that someone said Mumford are old and irrelavant because it's not 2010 anymore. The same applies to Liam. His solo stuff is not as popular as anything Oasis released. People go to his shows mainly for Wonderwall, Rock'n'roll Star or Champagne Supernova and now he's doing 'Definitely Maybe' in full...
  7. Oh, I see, somehow missed the news. How many times do we have to explain that Coldplay are not playing at Sziget anytime soon. Especially when they have 3 shows in Budapest this year.
  8. She’s not rumoured for Glasto. Coldplay, Dua and Stevie Wonder are the rumoured headliners. And the reason why she did that show in India was a huge paycheck.
  9. Yeah but probably half of them is already unavailable because of their busy schedules...
  10. I'd say 0%. And Dua? I love how you lot analyse everything they post on their Insta/FB. I don't think they would tease Dua in a post about Liam, you're reading too much into it.
  11. Where in the US? I can't find anything apart from him doing a DJ set in Bali next month.
  12. Both. Some acts are staying in the US, some are coming back to Europe after Osheaga (for example Martin Garrix, TDCC, Raye, Denzel Curry,…)
  13. OneRepublic are in the US so no. I would say most of these are less likely than likely for Sziget even though Aurora is doing both…
  14. Don’t think so, played last year and doesn’t have any shows planned for August Nope, she’s in Finland that day.
  15. Brittany is in the US during Sziget and Elbow don’t seem to be playing festivals (+ not really a type of band Sziget would book nowadays).
  16. "Oh no. There are 300 people selling their tickets and we already have their money in our pockets 😱"
  17. In that context, I think it means she wants to see some of her favourite artists live (for example Taylor) rather than them playing as a support.
