PJ Harvey and Pulp announced for Way out West so I guess they are in the mix too.
-
I'm still hoping for Paul McCartney. Would be fitting now with all the buzz around Beatles "new" single.
-
That would truly make my day if Macca shows up. Here's hoping!
-
I agree! Plus, everyone would sing along to the songs:)
-
What do we think of Paul McCartney? He headlined Glastonbury in 2022 and has resumed his Got back-tour. Would probably be the last chance to see one from the Beatles.
-
What do you think are the chances for Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey or Olivia Rodrigo?
-
I agree! The brilliant new album also made it into nr 1 in the Belgian charts so Werchter missed out. Luckily I'll see Blur in Gothenburg on Friday😉

Way out West 2023 (Gothenburg, Sweden)
ParanoidTourist replied to SwedgeAntilles's topic in overseas festivals
I'm only going Friday so for me it's: Amyl, TSOOL and BLUR. -
Well, they did play in 2009 and 2011 so it's not entirely out of the question.
-
Definitely! Last time they co-headlined with Kings of Leon. So it shouldn´t be entirely out of the question. Also, Blur has an album out now in a few weeks and it´s likely they will continue touring it.
-
Nice predictions above! Personally I would like to have: SOAD, Depeche Mode, Foals, Blur, The Smile, The Cure, RATM, Foo Fighters, Lana Del Rey and probably others I can´t remember now. Btw, Dean Lewis said he would be back next year during his gig.

Just got back from Belgium. It was a great festival as usual! I managed to see: Thursday: Gayle, King Princess, Sam Fender, Iggy Pop, Mumford and Sons Friday: Hot Milk, Kasabian, The Black Keys, Liam Gallagher, Red Hot Chilli Peppers Saturday: Interpol, Sigur Ros, Dean Lewis, Muse Sunday: Lumineers, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys My top 5 was: Iggy Pop, RHCP, Sigur Ros, Sam Fender and TQOFSA Queens of the stone age totally floored me. What a fantastic gig!
-
I agree! I have never seen the Barn filled up so much as with the Iggy gig. The area around the Barn/Klub C really is too crowded when the acts are big. Also agree on RHCP. They were on fire yesterday!
-
Leaving for Brussels now! Have a nice festival everyone!
-
We'll see. The Barn contains 25k😉
-
Yes! I read it on their website somewhere. 15 collected cups equals 1 digital coin.
-
Mumford and Sons! Decent solution given the short time they had to fix the line up gap.
-
That's true! Won't be any trouble for me either because we're seeing Iggy Pop on Thursday anyway and will see Blur in Gothenburg later this summer.
-
Blur is one of the best live bands around. And to be fair: Stromae failed to sell out the Thursday before his cancellation 😉 But to each is own. It will be a great festival the other 3 days.
-
I'm hoping for Blur or Lana but the realist in me believes it will be a mediocre rap artist or nothing.
-
And Blur releases good albums to this day so they are not a band from the past per se.
-
It probably varies from country to country. They sold well in Sweden: both 10 years ago and this year.
-
Shame about their diminishing status in the Benelux countries. Their Werchter concert in 2013 is easily in my top 3 concerts of the festival. On the other hand Werchter didn't sell out Thursday with Stromae either😉
-
Maybe not but I'm still hoping. They will release a new album this summer too!
-
Hell yeah! Thursday would be saved.
