The amount of people leaving the Pyramid field on Sat as I got to GnR - says that happened this Sat too. I left about an hour into the Gorillaz
-
Roger Federer turned up & shook some maracas at a coldplay gig recently weirdly. I'd have rather he sang than Chris Martin
-
I didnt know who any of them were (barring B Flowers). But it didnt bother me in the slightest. I agree that Mr Gabriels, Flowers & Kiki Dee replacement were all very good. The other one, that was the only genuine low point in the set

It was definitely a thing that people were there to see who the guests would be. I dont know how many were there specifically for the guests. However I heard a lot of people saying "the guests were crap weren't they?"
-
Kasabian were actually pretty good on the night IMO. Other acts have gone down worse (even if they were "better" overall)

Worst song on the Pyramid. Not sure. Worst act? Jack Johnson nearly bored me to death in 2010. I dont know any of the tunes - but my god he was sh*t. I only stayed cos he was after Ray Davies & before Faithless / Stevie Wonder . I didnt really want to mooch much for just an hour. Awful dreary lift music.

Quite possibly the Saturday highlight of 2022 on the Pyramid... Actually 2nd after Live and Let Die.
-
I think both would get massive crowds. Just not up to Elton levels
-
I am definitely not saying no one would care (Ive already said that I would be there) - I'm only saying a noticeable percentage wouldnt be. Even if that percentage is only 30%. It's still large enough to make a difference in a way it didnt for Elton.

What was the script re After parties etc? I see some DJs playing, but not on the line up?

On stage dimentions... was the other stage taller this year? Looked it to me

If I dont get a glastonbury ticket next year, I debating Rock Wertcher... I dont know anyone who's been though.

Boomtown - No arena. You are limited on how much booze you can take in theory, but we've taken quite a lot in the times we have been. It's basically the SE Corner as a festival. I didnt do '22 festival, but done the 2 before it. Closest thing to Glastonbury you'll get IMO. I read above someone says you need to love DnB... I hate it, but love Boomtown. But there is plenty of other stuff (lots of DnB though!!)

The thing is, where do you put him? To headline the other, he is at a certain level. 3rd down, or sub the pyramid? That'd guarantee a crowd at least.

I mentioned to someone that they were very much a punk band (even if the music isnt) You have described why perfectly. It didnt make me feel uncomfortable. It made me feel like I could run through a wall & was fired up... but I understand your point.

It's probably been mentioned on here, but the Stonebridge queue worked really well. I was only in it for 5 mins before getting in 20 mins before DJ Yoda started. I needed a piss during it... they wrote on my arm so I could just go back in without queuing too. Really good system. Plus when in the queue you were on the edge of the tent so could hear really well.

After watching Fred Again back, I would have liked to have seen him, but I am very very happy with my decision to watch Young Fathers. Fred did look good though.

David Byrne (Doesnt strike me as the type, but still)

They have a ceiling with the maimstream. The "say it loud, say it clear" alone will turn a more than some people off. That's without the music not being as "accessible" as other acts. They had the right amount of anger to disgust quite a few, & even to put a bit of fear into some. The most exciting act Ive seen in ages.

The Prodigy > Underworld / Justice It's been too long

Elton has a "young & old" appeal that very very few other acts can compete with. Over 35 males, which I am 1 (& there are lot of at Glastonbury) - a decent percentage of them would have no interest in T Swift. I'd be there, on my own from my friends group. Obviously her crowd would still be massive, just not close to Elton's. I cant really see anyone matching that. Even the TV audience was huge. Oasis reunion? Nah. Unless it was their first show... which it wouldnt be.

Nice

I was on the top of the ridge, so could see.. sound was great where I was. I was much closer for Leftfield. Not too high for them. Just right

The Unfairground should go IMO. The stages are not great.
