As if it couldn’t get any more depressing… Wont be far behind you.

Good morning camper-vanners. What a week it’s been with lots of progress on the bus. Took the week off (kinda) to really push it forward and have really cracked on with things. Such as: - Shower cubicle 95% there now, just siliconing, water connections & curtain to be fitted. - Waste water pipework all routed & connected to grey tank which is now mounted. All left to do is connect the tank sensors & little display unit. - Side hatch for gas box fitted. - Water system connection/feed with pump etc fitted and initial pipe work. Just waiting for a couple more connections to arrive then will crack on with connecting the rest of the system & feeding to where needed. - Water heater fitted, vents installed & ready to connect up to water system. - 4 new rear mid flaps fabricated @ installed. - Outside of bus completed sanded thanks to Mrs YBNB. But whether we’re able to give the bus a new makeover before the fest is time & weather dependent.🤞 Things left to do before we leave for Somerset are to get the cold/hot water system finished and all the gas connected up to where it’s needed. Might attempt on fitting the diesel heater, not that it will be needed, but as long as we can use the water, shower, cook etc when we’re there, we’ll be happy. It’s also going in for a service this week to make sure she’s all tickety boo under the bonnet. Hope everyone else’s camper prep is all going to plan! 😊 x

Just found out the hard way it requires 11.5 or later, and i'd put off updating my mac for so long! Needs must though...

I was going to weld but it would have been a faff as the mig isn’t on site as I don’t have mains electric at the yard so we only have a little generator for lights & tunes etc. So instead we drilled some extra holes in the frame and fixed with some beefy zip ties. Should do the job 👍

Happy Monday Campers! Big progress on the bang bus yesterday, as we eventually got the frame in for the fresh water tank, diesel heater tank, and the gas bottle locker. Now these are in, things will start moving quicker and we can make some real progress 😅🤞 Also managed to get the bathroom vanity unit in, so it's secure, drill holes through the floor for the waste & water feeds, and fit the trap etc. Have ordered a new tap as the one I was left with is a bit knackered, but that wont take long to fit. Next job is routing all the waste pipes under the van to the grey tank. There's no way i'll get it all finished by the fest if i'm just working on it at the weekend, so have booked in a whole week on it next week to really break the back of it, so will post more progress pics here. Also finished sanding and prepping my diy fibreglass bodywork repair, ready for when we come to paint the van. Really happy with the result, amazing what you can do with some wire mesh, expanding foam & fibre glass filler. It's not staying school bus yellow, and after a conversation with a guy who sprayed his own van, i've decided i'm going to Raptor it. Have a great week. 😊

I’m there early this year working, so Mrs YBNB is having to catch the train up on the Wednesday. Just wondering about the situation with getting to the festival from the station, if there’s a shuttle, how often, and if so which gate does it take you to? Any info, much appreciated.

Not wanting to change the subject, but something I need to get sorted before I put the van on the road in a months time, other than the the tax, is the insurance and getting some breakdown cover... Who should I be getting quotes from, and am I right in hearing that joining the caravan club is good idea to make things a little more cost effective? Will post some more progress & an update on the van soon. Shitting it as time is going so quick and still so much more to do!

We had a diy festival themed wedding, which although was a mega faff organising (safely say I never want to get married ever again), turned out really well. Things like stage names for tables, the wed fest portrait area for guests to take silly pictures of themselves, Pyramid themed cake and a few other bits. My big idea that I intended to save a few quid on & thought was kinda quirky, was instead of having a band, I put together a large video of live performances from Glasto & other places of all our favourite artists etc, and because we had a marquee wedding, I used a projector to project the film onto one side of the marquee pitched roof above the dance floor. Everything about this cunning plan was set to work just fine, if it wasn’t for the fact I’d mis-judged how light the evenings would be at the end of May, so basically, until it went dark you could hardly see the first half! Sounded great though. The second half after the evening food interval when it was dark did however go to plan. 4 weeks after the wedding though, we were at our favourite place for our official honeymoon 🥰

Hydration salts in water during the day taking sips in between alcoholic drinks. Then glass of water, milk thistle, berocca & ibuprofen before bed & possible diazepam depending on state. Then in the morning, a glass of the below accompanying an egg & bacon bap, and you’re good to go 💪 It even tastes like medicine!

2014, on the Sunday cried a few times through this set. Arguably I probably shouldn’t have gone that year. Had a 2 month at home and before he arrived on earth, we used to stick headphones on mummy’s tummy & play their first album. Also left the fest on the Saturday afternoon briefly to go home and have my dog put down, again, I probably shouldn’t have returned afterwards. So added with being pretty emotional anyways and after a heavy few days on the farm, this set me right off.

How on earth do you remember / find this kind of fascinating information?? 👏
