  1. I didn't make it to the festival this year (instead I sat watching it at home with my 7 week old son). However in years gone past, this has been a game changer when we've stayed in the scout tents at WV https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/camping-tarp-tarp-fresh/_/R-p-312174?mc=8572388&c=WHITE It is the perfect size to throw over the top of them and ties down on either side. It is not as good as a blackout tent, but it'll buy you a few extra hours in the morning, once the sun comes up (and it makes your tent really easy to spot).
  2. Ticketmaster are not even trying to hide their price gouging tactics anymore and any artists who allow their tours to have dynamic pricing need to get in the bin!
  3. I think it was a combination of it being... 1. A "new" festival (even though it was based on the old 2007/2008 Connect festival). 2. Massive Attack pulling out from their Friday Headline slot. 3. Friday. I was working on site from 10:30am onwards and it never really got busy until after 6pm. I think a lot of people treated it as an Idles and Jon Hopkins gig. Saturday was noticeably different if crowd size, but still had a nice chilled atmosphere about it.
  4. I never went this year, but I did swing by to get some shots of the site on the Sunday evening. (Click to see it full size)
  5. Ahhh, I never thought about the fact that the Coach tickets would then be on sale in Sept, if it was 2nd October!
  6. It's usually the first Sunday in October and it always clashes with the Great Scottish Run later on that morning (which means I'm either on cloud nine and loving life for 13 miles or absolutely pissed off that I never got a ticket). I reckon it'll be the 2nd October this year.
  7. EE don't have to sort anything out. Their network is brilliant at the festival site and thats the point. They want people to get PAYG sims for the weekend or permanently move to their service. I have dual sim slots in my phone and stick an EE sim in for the weekend. Its night and day different to any other network on site.
  8. As happy as they are for people to decorate them with solar lights and flags. So long as you take it home afterwards, they're not bothered.
  9. Having been converted to Fresh and Black years ago, but also wanting the convenience of WV, we picked up one of these F&B tarps. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/camping-tarp-tarp-fresh/_/R-p-312174?mc=8572388&c=WHITE It doesn't have to be suspended over the tent to work. It's just as effective, when it's thrown over the top of one of the WV Scout tents and secured down. It was a lifesaver in 2019!
  10. I didn't make it this year, but that is gutting to hear they've got rid of the view. We loved that feeling of walking round the corner on Wednesday to see the site for the first time and always tried to finish the festival with the sun rising over it on the Monday morning. (Monday morning sunrise back in 2019)
